Mr. KRUSE, Can you please speak to the issue of DRE evaluations and prescription medications?

Here is an odd question, I hope you read it, and reply .
You do not have to speak to any cop once you are charged for a crime .. DUI is a crime, BUT, the process of going through a DRE test at the station ... a 12-step process involves the DRE officer asking you questions like when the last time you smoked, when was the last time you ate ... So, IF I refuse to answer THOSE questions ...am I automatically charged with refusing to " Do the Test" ? ...is it the same as if I refused to give a breath or blood test?
Like I said, you are being asked questions to determine your sobriety, but you also have the right to remain silent ... and I CANNOT find an answer to this question anywhere's.
I DO NOT want to put a DUI charge on me because a Legal Aid lawyer gave me incorrect advice, and now, here I am, dead sober with a DUI refusal on my record, I will lose my job if that were to happen.
I would not know if the laws are different in each province, but I am in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
These are the indications that save you sink you:
    A suspect's attitude
    Breath
    Coordination
    Facial expressions
    And speech.

Ok but what if i got caught driving mad, after a very emotional argument with a spouse or close family member? What if my blood sugar was too low, would i face the same sort penalty? How about if someone spiked my drink etc?
