  • Using SolidWorks Simulation and analytical calculation to explain the principle of shear-stress. Shear stress can be easilly calculated and verified with SolidWorks Simulation. This video demonstrates and explains how to do this.

A gazillion thanks, saved me tons of stress.

Great stuff although Id like the see this FEA shear result peaking on the neatral axis at 4/3 x this nominal 0.5MPa x4/3 = 0.67MPa for a round beam. Could you probe it and verify this is 0.5 or 0.67MPa please? Im doing some shear testing on stainless steel and finding it hard to know if we are seeing failure at nominal or peak stress (without strain gauges unfortunately).

Hello Carrick. You can download the files from GrabCad (link in description of the video). Then you can check all expected results. Thanks for your comment!

Why did you change the display of stress diagram? not display in default?

Thank so much, but I checked your simulation with rectangular Section, Result is not exact
