Let this stadium and game be a reminder how far DICE fell. The fall of AAA quality games means caution for everyone no matter what even if your influencers say "ITs nice and amazing" trying to sugarcoat the BS and the preorders are just honey traps. New Idea for looking for shooters, focus on indie dev games since they arent being leashed by corporate heads
First time I got so excited about a game in a long time was when 2042 launched. I pre-ordered it because I thought it's going to be another BF3! That was huge when I was a kid so I thought it's going to be the game I play the most. But nope. Turned out to be a flop and I've been playing MW2 and MW3 more than Battlefield... So sad. Not going to be pre-ordering games any more. Used 80€ for nothing.
$110 dollars down the drain. And they ahd the absolute audacity to charge for year 2 of content for those who pre-ordered. Dice/EA will never see another cent of my money after that one.
now that 2042 is over i can 100% say that these devs fumbled the bag like ive never seen before... they had ALL the ingredients for a perfect battlefield game but just straight up pooped the bed... soooo many assets from all era's. soooo much content to work with... all they had to do was PRESENT IT PROPERLY!!!! instead of focusing on the actual battlefield, they focused on Specialist, STUPID BORING LORE, and just about everything except what the playerbase wanted. and now they are trying to tie this in with the next one?!? i dont know wtf they are smoking at DICE, but this title is COOKED.

Hourglass conquest 64 was quite decent before the God awful rework. And this new stadium standalone map is awful unless you liked Lockers. Just random nonsense.
They had a whole mode dedicated to that, which we were all super excited for... They let it die by not supporting it. The mistakes made with the last two games are insane
Dice taught me valuable lessons with bf5 & bf2042. I've been a battlefield fan since BC2. But I will never buy a BF game off the rip again. I'll wait to see what the reviewers say.
I appreciate the gesture from DICE. But…uhh…yeah. For some reason, I still feel bummed out of this “new” map. Least they can finally move on from 2042. But remember: No high expectations for the next game Also, adding something in that empty space in the center of the stadium could’ve added more opportunities too. Like a clandestine military outpost? Refuge camp? Or maybe even a scavenger’s camp?
Just give us battlefield portal as a standalone game. Every battlefield with as many maps as possible and a halo forge level of customization. Guaranteed success... id also enjoy bad company 3
Stadium suffers from the readability problem like most other 2042 maps. Whilst Redacted sufferers from the bottleneck problem. They are both maps you can play, but I wouldn't call them A-tier.
I think Activision started the problem because Dice tried way too hard to be similar to current COD games and less on battlefield while trying even harder to make it slightly like battlefield.
I'm sure many said that after Hardline... well, we got BF1 next. We need that sort of recovery... but it seems slim. AAA shooters are down the wacky skins rabbit-hole now, there's no way back.
@@martsum398 Nobody said that after Hardline. Fans accepted Hardline as it was despite it not being a very good game because Dice didn't make it and BF4 had a ton of content to keep fans occupied.

The life of this game was spent adding basic "legacy features" no one wanted (everyone wanted) and reworking sht maps. 🤡
I know that there are fans of this style of Battlefield, but I really hate it. Specifically the nerfed vehicle controls. They feel so floaty and imprecise. Movement on the ground is too fast. Just people sprinting wildly everywhere, running through gunfire like it doesn't even matter. Weapon handling is awful to me too. I wouldn't have even cared about the buggy disaster launch if the game just played like BF3/4 or BC2. Thats my favorite era of FEEL for the game. However 1 and V did a great job of speeding it up but keeping the gameplay sensible. Some developers can do the fast combat and movement stuff well. CoD while that game doesn't interest me at all, it at least pulls off what its trying to do. With 2042 I think it just feels terrible. Odd stiff and stilted first person animations, its all just weird.
People need to just accept that battlefield is done. You know good and well that it will be bad and probably the exact opposite of what we want. Modern dice needs to be disbanded
You can very easily get new AAA for at least 20% off at key sites. Did that with Elden Ring and got 40% off a pre order, same with 2042. steam only, obviously.

What a way to go, the last map of the game being a recycled map that used to already be in the game. I think we can all agree this really reflects how battlefield 2042 was.
The next game I just want that BATTLEFIELD feeling again. Anything similar to BF4 or BF1 would be splendid but I know that’ll never come about again. We are lucky we got 7 season and as many maps and guns we did. The game should of been cancelled after season 3 or 4 but DICE stuck with it and brought the game back to one that can be enjoyed. It is what it is. Hopefully they have learned for the next bf but only time will tell.
We have operation metro at home hit me in the feels. Part of it is I've gotten older and like different games nowadays but battlefield has lost the feel that made it great in bad company bf3 and bf4.
BF2042 took many risks - 128 players, no more classes, amazing operator capabilities. It didn't work out, and they went back to classes and mostly 64 player maps. The game doesn't have many maps, but the fun factor from operator specialties is unmatched. Just watch squidG take out condors with a knife. Reminds me of the colonel from Battlefield friends. This map is a joke. It shows exactly where DICE was. Throw something together to shut people up. Waste of time and effort. The old stadium was better. I just hope this isn't what the next BF title is going to be. So disappointed.

If we're being honest ... Skeleton crew working in the game rumor kinda sounds like it's holding true. This doesn't seem like a big job to take months to make for the size of the studios they have. This shouldve been out in the same season as the hourglass rework and made that season 3 maps with 2 reworks. As much if a comeback 2042 had they never capitalized on making enough content to make it worth it.
At this point I'm just thinking they shouldn't make anything more, and just keep adding to 2042, just because the concept of the portal is pretty solid and I'd like to see all previous BF games rolled into it. It's a good platform for just adding new gamemodes and content, just needs some reworks in places.
this map is atrocious. can't believe this is the last map we get. plays like absolute garbage with the absurd amount of flank points and awkward navigation to each point. The gunplay in this game is SO satisfying and fun but the maps have been complete trash since the beginning. It's like they barely even tried. Even though I love playing Falck (partly because players barely drop ammo or revive / heal so I like playing her to administer everything), specialists were a mistake, and it shows in how difficult map design has been due to them (on top of the map designs just not being very thought out). It's sad to see how this game was mishandled from start to finish despite the hype at the beginning. I had so much fun when redacted was released and I'm going to remember that time fondly, but I don't think I'll come back to this game when the player base dies off. Might go back to BF4 once again now that it's over (and now that redacted / haven isn't a playlist anymore). I really wish this game at LEAST had a map voting system.
Never bought this game, once I saw how it was going to play out post-reveal I abandoned the franchise I had spent 10+ years following adoringly. What a pile of shite, utterly, I cannot believe this is where the 'CoD killer' franchise went after BF1 lmao
All I want in the next Battlefield game is a solid, balanced and polished MP experience. I don't care about an expanded universe, I don't care for a single player campaign, I don't care for another trend chasing extraction zone battle royale. I just want 64 player conquest and a Rush/Operations linear attack/defend gamemode.
I was a massive, massive, fan of the battlefield franchise. Up through battlefield 4. All of the games dropped after that has lost the magic in my opinion. Feels too much like arena style fights. I miss the epic infantry pushes, tank battles, mortar barrages, heli support. There was the close quarters maps which were fun if you felt like it. I am sick of the "lets move on" mentality of the video game industry. Basically, I miss old battlefield lol.

Pretty fun map, too bad it's too lil too late
All I want in the next Battlefield game is a solid, balanced and polished MP experience. I don't care about an expanded universe, I don't care for a single player campaign, I don't care for another trend chasing extraction zone battle royale. I just want 64 player conquest and a Rush/Operations linear attack/defend gamemode.
I can’t wait for the next game to be bad enough for me to actually defend 2042
DICE last map = sweaty bunny hopping COD map. The whole POINT of BF is open world sandbox.
Wait for next Game...
Novice map design is Dice at its finest.
Give me nash canals with tdm close quarters
I was a massive, massive, fan of the battlefield franchise. Up through battlefield 4. All of the games dropped after that has lost the magic in my opinion. Feels too much like arena style fights. I miss the epic infantry pushes, tank battles, mortar barrages, heli support. There was the close quarters maps which were fun if you felt like it. I am sick of the "lets move on" mentality of the video game industry. Basically, I miss old battlefield lol.
Played it for half a match. Almost vomited
I appreciate the fact that DICE kept trying to improve this, but I got rid of the game last week and have zero interest in playing any more of it.
First map?
Best review. You did not waste my time with Easter egg hunting. If I wanted that I would watch an Easter egg vid. You didn't waste my time with gibberish or entitled whining. Cad Woman's review was also good. And no I will never pre-order another Battlefield title.
