- Nathan, a nervous wreck, is both excited and terrified while embarking on a weekend camping trip with the girl of his dreams (Amber). When Amber goes missing in the woods, an adrenaline-fueled Nathan boldly decides he must search for her. While venturing deeper and deeper into the woods, he becomes increasingly certain that someone else may be in the woods with him.

This was WAY BETTER than most of the award winning shorts, and I can see why. This was so well done from the characters, scenery, and my god the twist. I wasn't expecting that and I would pay good money to see this as a full length movie. BRAVO to all who had a hand at this masterpiece!!

I think if she did say Frank, that would have really let it mess with our minds. Especially if there were footsteps coming from outside before the credits roll.

This really drew me in. Where she left the keys lets you think something happened to her. Then the hair on the floor. Excellent work!
One thing I don’t get is that when she went to “Pee” he got locked out of the car. That’s what prompted him to go look for her in the first place. So wouldn’t him finding them in his pocket be a red flag? . And...if you were about to get diced up and (in your mind) she was taken BEFORE you... then wouldn’t it stand to reason that (again, in your mind) she’s already dead?
The way he began to frantically scream when the blood got on him, now that's a REAL reaction. Not like that fake ones where the people just be like:
**wipes it off.**
"Ah, oh well, just a little blood from a strange Human. No biggie."
This comment was a little too authentic...
Well.. mostly he screamed because the dude fell on top of him sorta, thus making him fall over with the chair
Watching this in May 2020, and gotta say it's better than 95% of the horror movies out now with gigantic budgets!! I never knew it was so difficult to make a decent horror movie, feature length or short, etc. To ALL involved with this, to a job very well done!!🍾🍻🍸🍹

Underrated comment.
No malice intended but I personally think he possesses an appealing appearance and energy. His overall demeanor, character, and vitality do not exude mediocrity. There is no indication that suggests he is beyond her reach. Having watched movies like "I Love You, Beth Cooper" and others of its kind, I can confidently say that he does not come close to the level of a simp. In fact I thought she looked like his mom earlier, she’s kind of out of his league. Again this is just me sharing my thoughts, I have nothing against anyone else’s.
Yeah that was honestly good , from the first scene i was expecting a complete different story but this was far better than what i could of imagined

@@innerdarkness1988 -- Most people have more than one key to their car, and they had plenty of time to move the car while Nathan was knocked out cold.

You should all be so proud of this, everyone did a fantastic job! The story's engaging, the characters well acted and the camera work was absolutely beautiful! A real work of art with a lot of effort and love that really pays off, and with a fantastic twist. In my eyes it has everything a good film should and I applaud that

Perfectly said!!! this was a very well done , and im not talking technical, this absolutely gave me a case of the 1st class creeps. When Nathan got Bill, I thought I was going to have a heart attack..GREAT JOB!!! oh and as someone else pointed out that car graveyard ....goose bumps on top of chills!!!. This just goes to prove a film does not have to be 2+ hours with big names, budgets and action, and to actually be better than most of those big budget ones to boot.

Am I the only one who was creeped out by the girl front the start? The fact that she is so pleased with him not being sure of himself?
Her idea to camp with him on the third date? The keys like a trail of breadcrumbs? The sheer unlikelihood of someone waiting in the trees at a random place along the road?
This isn’t fiction, it’s real life.

I loved this, tho I wanna know what happens next. That Nathan guy was amazing and the storyline more original than the usual "die at the end" shortfilms.

The best part of this was leaving it open ended at the finale. This was far above most of the short horror films I’ve seen on RUclips. Nicely done!

Just based in the title alone, I thought this was going to involve the standard jump scares I'm finding in all the related videos, but I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't that case. It's really well done and quite above the rest of these many "Award winning" horror shorts. It's a shame there isn't more of these videos from this channel.

I still generally leave a thumbs up assuming there was any effort whatsoever, and possibly a comment on what might make it better in my opinion. Anyhow- I am adequately intrigued. I'll be back with my official tiebreaking analysis.

Nathan may be a nerd with social skills he needs to amend along with attitudes/behavior if he wants a good marriage.
Buuuut
filmmakers, thank you so much for making him an awesome badass who knows how to fight back, tough it out and win. He might have a setback but he'll find a way out, he won't give up and he'll spring forward. Not to mention.....he's BRAVE. He's COURAGEOUS. Instead of simply stealing a car and making a run for it he goes back to save the girl....he has a sense of HONOR. This guys a toughie. He looks all intimidated scared and weak but they weren't counting on him being a resilient survivor!!!! Which only means his fear of the unknown in the wilderness at the beginning was based on intelligence not cowardice.
And now that he knows she's the other killer.....I think we can expect this tough guy to pick up that thing he dropped and finish that job!!!!!

If i wouldve found the arm on the chair loose i wouldve said something snooty under my breath to lure him in close like maybe "does the meaning of your name make you self conscious? Is that why you do what you do?" Then id drop the hammer on him as he bent down. The hammer head being the screw and my arm being the handle ;)

I loved the storyline, I just wish he would have done something to her, something totally unexpected.

He most likely did, he sodomized her with that iron poking stick ( whatever it's called ). Then he made her eat Brian's Brain then made her eat herself slowly everyday until she finished eating all her limbs, she eat her own unnecessary to live organs, then made her eat her own shit that is made up of her own shit Wich he made her eat in the first place and so on until she snaps.
At least that's what I would have done.

Scott K. Leslie reminds me a little of a younger Robert Downey Jr. It's those eyes........ Likewise, Calli June looks, sounds, and has the mannerisms of a young Cameron Diaz. Both were brilliant in this film! I very much enjoyed all aspects of the film; from script, lighting, sound, videography, direction, acting, etc. Well done!!!

In the moment he got knocked out I expected another twist: Thought she set this all up as a prank to turn over his introverted side. But I like the twist in the film even more:)

@@proudmuslim8456 Nathan's girlfriend Amber lured him into the woods so Brian, who is her actual boyfriend, can kill him. Amber and Brian are serial killers and a couple. Nathan realized this at the end when he met her at the house where she was preparing a romantic dinner for Brian.

wow the nerve of this woman. i loved it. i wished there was more of the movie
Beginning around 4:06 or so, when Nathan is standing waiting for Amber, the film skips to him in different positions, to indicate he's been waiting a long time. I couldn't help but notice that despite those skips, the shadows were all at the same exact positions: indicating that they were all filmed within ten- fifteen minutes.
I loved the plot twist; that was pretty good! Thank you for sharing these films with us!

That's pretty perceptive. I'm an investigator who usually spots such things but not this time. I thought it very well done. Certainly took me by surprise.

Great movie, really enjoyed the twist.
Didn’t know what to expect watching this. Found it in my recommended videos section while binging short horror films here on YT. What I love most about this film, and I had a feeling this would be the final twist, is that the title is open to interpretation. The way I interpreted it was the title is literally referring to Amber *turning around* while setting the dinner table, thinking it’s Brian walking though the door. No idea if that’s the intention, but that was my take. This is one of those shorts where I don’t mind the ending is left open because of how well the rest of the film is done. Also want to add that one shot take at the end after Nathan escapes was very well done. Very good job!

I like the camera work the lighting the dialogue in the Jeep was a little low for 5 seconds. I like the twist at the end. that guy Nathan kind of looks like labamba. they said they were leaving civilization although Colorado has some of the most civilized. and they had a Colorado plate and the trespassing sign is facing the wrong way. I like how the camera followed up the stairs to the house up and over the railing. That was pretty good. Bravo.
I can see why this won an award, great film, thank you for your excellent work.
