That Sir is a 45 year old work of art. Johnny and Hilo are at the top of their game here. How could anyone look at that bike and not ride it. What the heck man. Great work JVM.
How does one even begin to express with words the sheer beauty of this bike; the glory of old restored by the magic of JohnnyVintage is sweet music to the ears and a balm to the eyes. Watch your videos everyday and am at awe at the work you and your team do.
Fantastic job on this one too. I thought the winters would be boring without riding. The detailed explanation about each nut and bolt is always good educational stuff. Thank You Guys.
This is truly a wonderful looking Bike.. standard of workmanship is of the highest... talk about being able to relive your memories and get back into the era...Thanks for sharing.. 👌
Kawasaki must endorse your love and effort and support you with parts. thanks to you, Kawasaki can show of his 50 years old beast in the streets for years to come. Kawasaki can't get any better ad and publicity than this. trust me.
As always, excellent job. That bike brings back old memories. As im back home now from a very, very long out of town work assignment, now it's my turn to start restoring a nice 70s kz 1000. I will be in touch for all the details of what im looking for. Hope to see you very soon. Thanks, Scott Harrington, West Jefferson, Ohio.
@@Johnnysvintage Thanks for your response. Im starting a large privacy fence, deck and pergola for a gentleman in Worthington, Ohio. My wife and I have discussed are bike build and after this jobs complete we will have a decent amount to start the project. I will be in touch soon to talk about my options. Thanks again for your interest in helping my son Nathan and I make a long time dream come true!
It's amazing how little rust there is on these old bikes, The bike's they make now won't last like that, show sings of rust within a couple of years, well hear in UK anyway. Great to see these old bikes being brought back to life, They will still be going strong in another 40 years, Keep up the great work,
Man that bike makes my heart palpitate. My 73 was a confiscated bike by the FBI who arrested the guy because he had a bomb inside the windjammer faring. I bought it at auction for 400 bucks and did a complete tear down and rebuild and the paint was like this one in perfect condition, got rid of the windjammer. Boy what memories..................
Beautiful resto, thanks for the videos you have taught me plenty, at 24.35 i notice you have the electrical connectors blue to the back? any reason for this? Thanks regards Tom.
These engine cases were de-greased first, then vapor blasted then powder coated. If you have any questions about these processes, you can call ACE Powder Coating in Green, OH: 330-896-9990. They do all our powder coating and vapor blasting and do a great job. Check out our video: ruclips.net/video/fE8tUeBizI8/видео.html
Beut job, sorry guys it sounds like the carbs need to be sync or it is not running on all four, small little teething issues you always have on a new start up/ rebuild, well done
I’ve got a 75’ Z1b that I would rate an 8/10 with 14k on the clock. Everything is there and in really GREAT shape. Unfortunately not original paint. Has a 4/1 header which I want to keep. Much much better shape than this 73. I would like to know what it would cost to bring her up to snuff.
I don't know what is worse, being waterboarded or having to just be able to look at that
Such beauty
I feel sick, the bike looks amazing.
This, sir, is a masterpiece.
This is the most beautiful bike ever made. Wonderful restoration. I want this bike!😎
(We second that!!)

Awesome.
The engine cases just suddenly appeared refinished- were they powder coated or was black paint used, and briefly what was the prep process?

Wow
Johnny how did the z1 series go was it z1 z1a z1b. I thought I remembered the hollow cams in the z1b
The hollow cams just came in the 73. You might be able to find them in EARLy 74. You are correct; Z1, Z1a, then Z1b, then came the KZ900s
Beut job, sorry guys it sounds like the carbs need to be sync or it is not running on all four, small little teething issues you always have on a new start up/ rebuild, well done
Once the bike got up to operating temperature, it cleaned itself out.
only 20,000 original miles and its in boxes? how?
Did he say he was making 135$ a month? in the Army?
A dream
8 would like to buy one of your bikes if joy sell them
Engine shouldn’t make so much noise?
