Also we need someone who can't be blamed for the inflation or the war in Gaza - if we want to win. Finally, Republicans will blame Harris for covering up Biden's health.
I think Newsom is great but he may be perceived as too progressive and an elitist by the mid-west and those who are more centrist in their preference. He would have no problem eating trump alive in a debate though.
