Completely agree! I still loved the first time she sang it. The reactions were authentic and everyone genuinely enjoyed it. By the third time, everyone was kinda drained from the dramatic reactions we needed to show 😂
IKR? Also, when her dress "transforms". I was glued to the screen hoping to get a glimpse of the mechanism then boom! Zoom-out! Well played, Disney, well played.
For performances like this a single wide shot wouldn't be so bad. The cuts make me feel like I'm missing something. Also if you're really wanting to pay attention to the performance it makes it more difficult with your eyes darting around to follow with the cuts.
I think she mixed all the way. Normally it's belted so that's why it sounds softer. One is not better than the other, it's just a style and technique choice.
I simply adore Jemma and she is so stunning in this role! The sets, the lighting, the costumes, the music, the cast - it's absolutely magical. You can tell so much work went into bringing Frozen to life and they hit it out of the park! Hoping to catch a ticket for one of the Melbourne show dates. ❄️☃️✨
Fire whoever the people were who edited this video. The very obvious autotune ruins the entire performance and undermines Jemma's actual strong and belty voice. Jemma is an Australian musical theatre ICON and doesn't need effects to make her sound better. Literally did the same thing with Caroline's promo video and made her sound terrible.
I KNOW, jemma and Caroline are both power house elphaba’s with strong voices and these overly produced videos take away from that. And then ppl see these instead of the bootlegs or the live show and think they’re not good.
This production reminds me of the US Touring production, where Elsa walks up onto a set up stairs vs. the B'way version, where she simply stands in the middle of the stage. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the B'way effect, since there seems to be more of an element of surprise when her custom changes. Thoughts?
they had to add the stairs set piece for the US tour and for the Australian tour because not every stage the tour goes to is equip with a pit/stage that can open a trap door to have the dress fall through during the reveal.
I personally like that too. I mean obviously if you have the slightest clue you expect the costume change regardless, but yeah being on a staircase does obviously “clue in” what’s about to happen where as on Broadway (which Live was phenomenal) it was like woah.
I'm conflicted, I definitely agree that it does feel more exciting when the surprise happens however the stairs, to me, make Elsa seem more powerful and more like a queen in her castle rather than her just being in the middle of the stage.
@@mattyboimushroom That's definitely the reason. Same holds true for Lion King. Anyone that's used to the original Broadway staging tends to be disappointed when they see the touring version. It's scaled back a lot, in part because the sets need to be able to work across many different stage set-ups.
okay wow wow wow wow!!! at first I was like "meeeeh..." but she did exactly THAT - she transformed from the controlled, held-back, cold (pun) Elsa to the "let's just give it a try, have fun and LET IT GO" Elsa :) very well done! I enjoyed
Yes they're super similar, this production has the ice stairs instead of the Broadway one and a bunch of other things such as a hat for Olaf that he wears at the end of the show and Anna's wig which has straight hair instead of the iconic braids
I know someone who was at The View performance and they actually did it twice because the first time through the producers thought the audience was too quiet so for the second take my friend said people were intentionally being obnoxious about every little step she took because it seemed so absurd that the producers were making them do it again and that they wanted them to basically cheer over the whole performance.
The stair case is only because this is a touring production and not all theatres have a pit underneath to use trapdoors, so they have to have the actor go up onto a platform.
@@MelodicMiner5 it is called “The Australian Tour”, it’s going to Melbourne next. Then most likely Brisbane and Perth before possibly going to New Zealand like most Disney tours. Australian tours tend to spend at least 6months at each location.
@@alex377687 The TV program auto tuned that ONE moment because Jemma's original note didn't do enough for them. This was filmed early in the morning and Jemma was told to perform this one song multiple times (and the crowd was told to react the way they did). The original comment states that her voice is unique, and you mentioned that it was auto tune. Which is incorrect. The only note that had auto tune was that ONE note. Otherwise, it was her own voice. (And other tech people in the comments actually stated that it could have been a mic problem). But as someone who has seen the musical and Jemma singing this song live, there is no auto tune.
I absolutely adore Jemma Rix! She plays a better Elsa, just as she played a better Elphaba than she who shall not be named. As much as I love her belt, I do hope to see Jemma getting the chance to branch out.

Those dramatic reactions were bloody annoying. Just let the woman sing!

I just wish the audience would shut up during the song!
Made me feel weirdly uncomfortable
In altri video sempre di questo spettacolo, stesso giorno, li applausi non ci sono!
In other videos always of this show, same day, there is no applause! ''few''
She is one of the few Elsa’s who actually has a pleasant and relaxed voice when she hits the hard notes.
She’s a bit nasally, but she gives it her all!
Just like the original Elsa she also played Elphaba in Wicked.
I think she mixed all the way. Normally it's belted so that's why it sounds softer. One is not better than the other, it's just a style and technique choice.

Saw this show earlier tonight, with Jemma Rix. Even though I had seen several versions on here, seeing it live took my breath away. Just brilliant
Iiooook😍
Australian productions are always phenomenal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
DIDNEY PRODUCTIONS ON THE ROAD are always equal to Broadway Maybe different lead singers but production never changes. That’s classic Disney.
Wow
Wicked actress Jemma Rix is also playing Elsa. The beautiful irony that thoroughly enjoyed in theatre.
She’s an Elsaba. (Elsa and Elphaba)

Same
Yeah esspesially when it is said many many time in this song x
