Thank you so much for the support!! Jumping spiders are so precious! Curly hairs are 100% the way to go as a starter species, but thats my bias since my red knee is pretty sassy and likes to kick a lot, lol

Great to know that pet stores fail most of the animals they sell and not just the small mammals. Its absolutely atrocious, thank you for bringing attention to it

For an abdominal wound you should use corn starch and or super glue ❤ depending on how serious, usually they can be saved❤

its crazy how they can get away with just promoting info that is blatantly harmful, great video!

Man, I didn't get a notification you had new videos, I am late, lol. I made the move to Texas and got 4 arboreal setups and 4 terrestrial setups ready to go. I am just trying to figure out what t's to order. G. Pulchra is on the list but need to pick some more, it is so hard. Plan is to order them right after 4th of July weekend so I have a bit of time to get it figured out.

Oh my gosh so awesome!! Also glad to see you back! Tomorrow I’m looking at some new tarantulas as well 😊 i recommend Heteroscodra maculata and p metallica just because they are so stunning! My maculata does stay out in plain sight often and she is stunning, not to mention that they grow so quick. Pamphobeteus sp is a little pricey alongside a similar xenethesis immanis, but they are so stunning! Sp are also adorable as babies since they have a little Christmas tree pattern. Let me know what you’re thinking!

@@Fluffy1810Tarantulas I was considering a gravid M. Balfouri to raise my own colony but figured I need to get back into the swing of things before I jump right into a gravid t and then a colony. P. Metallica is now on the list, not sure why it wasn't already, they are amazing looking. H. Maculata looks awesome, the pattern is cool and I am colorblind so cool patterns are awesome especially when they are contrasting. I may get an obt because I can see orange pretty decently. I do know I want at least one extra large tarantula, possibly a lasiodora parabyhana, boring for most people but I have a soft spot for them. So many choices and I am horrible at making choices. I may end up just ordering a mystery pack afterall and just filling in the must haves after I see what I receive.

@@StealthFisha a gravid balfouri is an amazing opportunity, but yes as you said i do suggest settling down with the other t’s before introducing an entire communal. OBTs are so adorable and mine is super sweet even though a ton of people claim they’re super aggressive. Ive never even gotten a threat pose from her! Payabyhana is also stunning, no tarantula is boring! I do love birdeaters for their size. My t stirmi is full of personality and a fantastic eater. Im getting him a mouse today to eat since crickets are so small compared to him

still to be avoided, but wondering if sterile seaweed patches would work for tarantulas experiencing ruptures... might bring it up to a specialist vet I know some time, cause it's a surprisingly good wound sealer that's already being used on humans

Creativity always is the stepping stone to new amazing discoveries. It would be so awesome to find out if this is medically effective for them- it could be a game changer! I never knew about seaweed patches so km super curious now!

Very good and informative video :), a few points here, however, overfeeding your theraphosid will not cause it to "explode". Me personally have never heard of a case of this happening and mechanically is not possible for a theraphosid, have just like us, a stretchy and malleable gastrointestinal linings that can expand quite a lot, now what does end up happening is due to the somewhat malleable exoskeleton on the opisthosoma eating too much will cause a buildup in pressure on the exoskeleton which makes it less malleable and more susceptible to as you mentioned abdominal ruptures which depending on where they are located specifically on the dorsal side of the opisthosoma can cause a rupture in the circulatory system which is lethal due to the open circulatory system that theraphosids exhibit which means that if a rupture happens they cannot clot their blood via coagulants and send mitotic growth factors to the cells that need to repair the wound causing internal bleeding and death,,
The next point I’d like to share is that using your tarantula’s abdomen as a point of reference for feeding is at least in my experience too variable to be reliable, now it may work for some but my A. chalchodes had the same sized abdomen in the nearly 2 years she did not take any food I gave her, this is due to their incredibly slow metabolism, because they are not only small but not active hunters they do not metabolize, break down and use nutrients from food as chordates do which means they do not exhibit noticeable change in abdomen size over a short period such as 2 weeks or even a few months especially for larger and more sessile species, for me it is better to keep them on a 1-3 week schedule based on how old and large the theraphosid is, obviously slings require more nutrients and in larger quantities because they are growing, but for larger and older species they need much less species so for me 2-3 weeks per meal is more than enough for around 95% of theraphosidae species.
it is also important to mention that slings, though smaller can also swim, not only this all tarantulas are mechanically hydrophobic, the Dark Den did good video showing this off, this is due to the millions of setae they have on their bodies which causes water to bead up and not give it a surface to adhear to, and specifically for slings they are also not heavy enough usually to fully break water surface tension and drown, if it does happen its very very rare, however your point about a deep water dish is still valid just a quick add on :D
Other than these personal points, great video :D

Thank you so much!! You are very educated, and thats so awesome to see! I love the points you made! I usually use the word ‘explode’ just to describe how fatal a rupture would be, and my g. Pulchra would eat herself to oblivion if she could, lol. I worry about the spiders swimming even though they are buoyant since their book lungs are on their bottoms and can easily be obscured too much for proper oxygen exchange, especially if they cant find their way out- but that could just be me being a more anxious and careful owner haha :-) thank you so much!

I had a petsmart pamphlet that said a single goldfish require 125 gallons minimum. It said the same for koi which grow much larger than goldfish and I think koi need more than 125 gallons but goldfish don't need that much space depending on how many you have. 40 gallon planted is fine for 5 ranchu goldfish.

I thought you said Brachipelma smithi don't dig?? You just said all Tarantulas need soil to dig? No 2 individual Tarantulas act the same, after 43 years of experience, please be careful what you tell people, when I look up a Tarantula's living condition, I ALWAYS read up on as many different accounts of raising them as I can, a lot of people have had many DIFFERENT experiences with different species. If someone was to take your advice and their Tarantula dies, they will blame you for it. I'm just trying to help you, I wouldn't want anyone to blame you for saying something that didn't work for them. Please do your homework, 5 yrs and a dozen different species is to most, still a beginner. I love your channel, and I'm just trying to give you some advice on things I've experienced ❤❤❤❤❤ take care, AND WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION 😄😊🕷️🕷️🕷️
