Honestly, the reason this set is so hyped is because of the flood of new hobbyists due to TCG Pocket. Even though theres a lot of IRs and SIRs, I think it wont go up too high. Because lets be honest..... more SIRs and IRs doesn't mean they're good.... or even look good. I mean look at the surging sparks most expensive card, doesn't even look that good.
I hope tpc sees the massive demand needed for prismatic, and that they print this set into holy hell. Just so people can actually buy and open packs at a reasonable price.

I believe the duplication is designed to create a deep-dive into the lore and emotion of the themes that they are 'hitting home' with. They are being thorough with the Pokemon that have been presented in the spotlight. They are breathing life into THESE characters, not ping-ponging around the 1600+ whatever individual Pokemon that exist. Aside from main characters, look at how many Indeedee cards they have made- it's kind of nuts.
Hey Phil, the reason for the duplicate SIR cards, is because the Japanese high class sets usually re-print a load of really playable cards for the TCG; to make it easier for players to build decks (as they are all in one set / are likely to be more cards available to buy as singles when people sell their “bulk”) The duplicate SIR cards you are seeing have been a part of the meta this year, and therefore are likely to be found in the set as a regular Ex card and an SIR Ex A few examples include: Teal Mask Ogerpon and Raging bolt (where Ogerpon uses its ability to attach energy to your Pokémon to hit high damage when using Raging Bolt; who has an attack which discards energy attached to your Pokémon) Iron Crown (who has an ability which raises the damage of all “Future” Pokémon attacks) Iron Hands (who has an attack which lets you take an extra prize card when you KO an opponent with one of its attacks) Roaring Moon (who has an attack which instantly knocks out your opponent) Dragapult (who has attack which also does bench damage to two Pokémon, making it hard to set up single prize / evolution decks) I think this is another reason which makes this set amazing; as it’s a set for everybody; TCG players, collectors and investors Keep up the great work; your content is great! The master balls really do take this set to a whole new level for English sets. I could totally see this set being the “neo genesis” or something of the like over the next 20 years. Holding these Pokémon center ETBs is truly a long term play But regardless, if there’s one thing I absolutely love about this set is that there’s something for everyone in it. I’m the odd one out that never really liked evolving skies but even in this set of it’s not the eeveelutions, or the other crazy cool SIRs, or any of the IRs we haven’t seen yet, or the promo card, there’s still even master balls to collect. Haha Starting a couple months ago with obsidian flames/stellar crown and surging sparks. I got a lot of pre orders on the way for this set and I’m so glad I’m back in it. Really looking forward to this release. Also the info and predictions you gave was very insightful as well, I may have to keep a etb sealed 👀
I'm so happy that I as able to pre order an ETB, the binder set, the one that comes with jolteon flareon and vapoureon and I got 6 of the one that comes with either glaceon sylveon or leafeon. I was super excited for this set when it was 1st announced, even before all the hype came in

You are forgetting that not only collectors are buying Prismatic. There are tons of players. Japanese high class sets are usually reprints of regular/ popular cards, including lots of playables. And some of them get new alt SAR. All of the non-eeveelution cards are part of the Video Game lore. Paradox pokemon are part of the main game storyline. Tealmask, Ursaluna, and most likely to be revealed this week Pecharunt SAR are at the center of DLC. ALL of these cards are also part of TCG meta. Raging bolt, tealmask, terapagos, dragapult, gholdengo, roaring moon, ursaluna, are not only super playable cards, but also part of the top MERA decks. And players love to *bling* out their decks with max rarity cards. Thats the reason why current SIRs of those cards are expensive
Just had another mid-large retailer in Australia cancel my order. They sent me a personal email after I complained. Apparently only got a fraction of requested allocation and it was way lower than usual compared to any previous set. They were just told allocation.
Going to be really interesting to see how they manage pull rates for this set in English. I want to know how frequent master balls will be. Will it just be random similar to baby shiny cards from Paldean Fates or will it be like 1 per ETB/Booster Bundle? Also wondering if the English set will differ to the Japanese set, will there be any ARs or will it only be SIRs? If so, does that mean every hit in this set going to be 1/100 like recent set SIRs?...

The High Class Pack sets from Japan include reprints of playable staples from the past year, along with exciting new collectible variants. This is the same set design as Shiny Treasure ex (Paldean Fates), VSTAR Universe (Crown Zenith), VMAX Climax (Trainer Gallery cards), Shiny Start V (Shining Fates) and many more. They'll usually add some new cards as well, but the core of these sets has always been reprints.

I agree with you that this set is going to be massive. So many compounding factors for it not to perform well. It will be interesting to see the pull rates as it feels like there are too many chase cards particularly with the master ball holo they may be a bit generous with it.
Here is a problem I see. Because the price of this set has boomed so rapidly long before release, once it is released almost everyone is going to have so much money in their product that they would almost have to be a complete idiot to open the sealed product. With that thinking being prevalent, less product being opened means fewer of the cards on the market, which will artificially drive up the price of them even beyond the hefty price many of them were already going to come out of the gate with. One particular card is that Eevee promo from the PC ETB. Who is actually going to think it wise to open such? Just another concern to overlay all of the others regarding what is happening here

Hello guys, I managed to find some ETB of Prismatic Evolutions at 60 euros pre-order sale. Should I buy or wait for them to drop at release day? Are they gonna priced lower than 60 euros? Please, I am new at the Pokemon TCG, and I don't have any experience. My first product was a Surging Sparks ETB.
I FINALLY got my hands on sealed Surging Sparks. After it came out here in Korea it sold out nearly right away (also whyyyyy later than every other country? We are right next to JAPAN!). I'm not a huge investor but more on the personal single collectors side. However I really wanted sealed 151 and Surging Sparks which I thankfully got and still searching for 25th Anniversary box. Looks like I will have to add Prismatic Evolutions to the list.
Playing the tcg, its noticeable to me that the reason that they chose these specific SARs are playable cards in the current format. This set is giving a nod to the top cards of the year. However as nice as it would be to get a Fezandipiti ex, not sure why they wouldnt include it?
This set release is the first since rejoining the hobby last year with 151 that I feel like I can't keep up. I've moved more to the investing side of the hobby so I've pre-ordered a few Prismatic Evolution PC ETB's. But then I realized when I saw everything was sold out, that I didn't order any for me to open :/
Been collecting since 2013ish. Just stop buying and opening packs. Buy the cards you want from eBay and card shows :) You’ll save A LOT of money! The money I’ve been spending since 2013 on single cards has only gone up in value and I have no bulk/rubbish cards on my hands
I'll be honest, I don't think people realize most of the product is not releasing in January. Which is why probably the items releasing in January are expensive. I got downvoted for recommending a Prismatic product for " best value for your money " in terms of pack cost and I said the posters or stickers lmao. Which posters stickers are coming out in Jan and probably the best price
Not gonna lie, before clicking on this video i thought it was a weird click-bait that was going against the grain of people saying that with reprints across the year this isn't going to be the investment set. I was wrong. The points you've detailed gives a strong frame for your rationale, and you even provide your own counter points with regards to specific cards. Without seeded pulls like the JP sets (which apparently have been confirmed to NOT guarantee a MB reverse unlike JP 151), the English and other international Prismatic Evolution sets are going to be hell to master set...
@ I just managed to order 4 before they reduced the limit. I didn’t know it was dropping. I had no idea what the next set was. It took me by surprise. But I got a ping from a Discord server I’m in, saw it was legit from Pokemon Center and had an Eevee on the box and bought the maximum without thinking twice. Must have been five minutes after launch!
When they first announced this set, I thought okay cool but I don’t think the artwork will stand out and the fact it’s a specialty set, it won’t perform as well as a main set. Now after seeing so many of the SIRs with very popular Pokemon, seeing the artwork and seeing the masterball effect, you just can’t go wrong with this set. I feel like I easily have 10 chase cards in this set lol. It’s going to get pricy but we need to remember to stick to a budget, don’t overspend and buy singles when they go down. Of all the pokemon aside from eeveelutions, I am wanting that roaring moon, raging bolt and dragapult.
If you don’t have real investments that have already created multi millionaires and want to go all in a pokemon set… you need to stop buying cardboard… Show me a millionaire from a person hoarding and speculative gambling on a collectible such as pokemon.. There are none… To the point of the video also.. Masterballs are a gimmick.. They’re were hyped and pumped with Japanese 151.. With the exception of the gengar, Pikachu and Mewtwo… the hype and gimmick has faded.. much like the gx shinies from hidden fates… 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
Also what these "investor bros" either dont say or have not had the time to say as they have not held a product for long enough.... The more valuable an item becomes, the lower the buyer pool becomes.. It took me 3 years at the lowest priced listing in Europe to sell my phantom forces booster box 18 months ago... 3 years with no cash income from having, time wasted from people who wanted dozens of pics of every corner to back out etc.. The same 2-3 Team Up Boxes from the same sellers are still on cardmarket for well over a year now... Over One year so whilst they probably had that box to appreciate to the value... until it actually sells, its still only worth what they originally paid for it.

Pokemon grading and selling, buying and flipping has made millionaires (such as Dan from Ketchumall collectibles) or pokemon rip and shippers.. The only person to have probably made millions from actual "investing" would be Alpha Investments but thats after he already became a millionaire via the stock market and real estate and gets product and distribution level prices and buys pallets not cases of product and holds a lot of inventory back for many years and has a large patreon following that he has the ability to sell to in the years to come..

I'm not a huge investor but more on the personal single collectors side. However I really wanted sealed 151 and Surging Sparks which I thankfully got and still searching for 25th Anniversary box. Looks like I will have to add Prismatic Evolutions to the list.

Playing the tcg, its noticeable to me that the reason that they chose these specific SARs are playable cards in the current format. This set is giving a nod to the top cards of the year. However as nice as it would be to get a Fezandipiti ex, not sure why they wouldnt include it?
This set release is the first since rejoining the hobby last year with 151 that I feel like I can't keep up. I've moved more to the investing side of the hobby so I've pre-ordered a few Prismatic Evolution PC ETB's. But then I realized when I saw everything was sold out, that I didn't order any for me to open :/
Been collecting since 2013ish. Just stop buying and opening packs. Buy the cards you want from eBay and card shows :) You’ll save A LOT of money!
The money I’ve been spending since 2013 on single cards has only gone up in value and I have no bulk/rubbish cards on my hands

I'll be honest, I don't think people realize most of the product is not releasing in January. Which is why probably the items releasing in January are expensive. I got downvoted for recommending a Prismatic product for " best value for your money " in terms of pack cost and I said the posters or stickers lmao. Which posters stickers are coming out in Jan and probably the best price

Not gonna lie, before clicking on this video i thought it was a weird click-bait that was going against the grain of people saying that with reprints across the year this isn't going to be the investment set.
I was wrong. The points you've detailed gives a strong frame for your rationale, and you even provide your own counter points with regards to specific cards. Without seeded pulls like the JP sets (which apparently have been confirmed to NOT guarantee a MB reverse unlike JP 151), the English and other international Prismatic Evolution sets are going to be hell to master set...

Yeah the raging bolt is my favorite! The style feels so traditional Japanese, that I think the Japanese card will be my preference over the english.

@ I just managed to order 4 before they reduced the limit. I didn’t know it was dropping. I had no idea what the next set was. It took me by surprise. But I got a ping from a Discord server I’m in, saw it was legit from Pokemon Center and had an Eevee on the box and bought the maximum without thinking twice. Must have been five minutes after launch!

When they first announced this set, I thought okay cool but I don’t think the artwork will stand out and the fact it’s a specialty set, it won’t perform as well as a main set. Now after seeing so many of the SIRs with very popular Pokemon, seeing the artwork and seeing the masterball effect, you just can’t go wrong with this set. I feel like I easily have 10 chase cards in this set lol. It’s going to get pricy but we need to remember to stick to a budget, don’t overspend and buy singles when they go down. Of all the pokemon aside from eeveelutions, I am wanting that roaring moon, raging bolt and dragapult.
I was lucky to get 2 pokemon center etbs. I’m guessing I shouldn’t open them. lol maybe hold long term.

To the point of the video also.. Masterballs are a gimmick.. They’re were hyped and pumped with Japanese 151.. With the exception of the gengar, Pikachu and Mewtwo… the hype and gimmick has faded.. much like the gx shinies from hidden fates… 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨

The more valuable an item becomes, the lower the buyer pool becomes.. It took me 3 years at the lowest priced listing in Europe to sell my phantom forces booster box 18 months ago... 3 years with no cash income from having, time wasted from people who wanted dozens of pics of every corner to back out etc..
The same 2-3 Team Up Boxes from the same sellers are still on cardmarket for well over a year now... Over One year so whilst they probably had that box to appreciate to the value... until it actually sells, its still only worth what they originally paid for it.

Pokemon grading and selling, buying and flipping has made millionaires (such as Dan from Ketchumall collectibles) or pokemon rip and shippers..
The only person to have probably made millions from actual "investing" would be Alpha Investments but thats after he already became a millionaire via the stock market and real estate and gets product and distribution level prices and buys pallets not cases of product and holds a lot of inventory back for many years and has a large patreon following that he has the ability to sell to in the years to come..
@@poke_fit_art3859Well, with sets that just came out it’s way more likely to have something that will go up in value along with demand. I’m in the US so I can’t say how different the market is, but id imagine that it’s better here. I don’t plan on opening this bc it’s just gambling.
