As a native of Brooklyn New York and now living in Queens, I have to say that New York holds my life history. I was born and raised here lost both of my parents here and made so many memories. Each corner of New York State holds sentimental value for me is like a part of myself. But I do acknowledge that New York is not for everyone it’s a busy over populated place constantly moving a state that never sleeps, and for many that is to much! I have felt the difference when I have traveled to other states that are more lay back,is like you carry the tension with you and people automatically know you are a New Yorker.,throughout the years so much has changed here in New York compared to when I was growing up which is to be expected I guess. Things are so much more expensive. But if I was to move from New York I know no other place would compare to the life I have lived here. And it would be like leaving behind most of my memories of me and my loved ones 😢but I do understood what you mean sometimes change is needed and what worked for us at one point of our lives might not work for us now. And we need to pack our memories and move on to make new ones. Easier said then done for me. But I’m talking to much sorry! Got nostalgic! Thank you for sharing with us your experience hope your auntie is doing well, and that your time spent here was unforgettable. Love your videos the scenery and music you choose is so peaceful. God bless🙏🥰
Your comment really touched me. This is how I feel about California. I was born and raised there, spent most of my life there, and lost so many and so much there. I am in my sixties and recently moved to Michigan, but my heart and soul will always be in California.
Your photography is so beautiful! I live in NYC and it always makes me proud to see visuals like this. Although I am not a “native” New Yorker I grew up in Queens and have been living in Manhattan for 25 years. Even though it does frustrate me sometimes I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
As soon as I saw that train I knew exactly where you were 😅 hometown - it’s always interesting hearing from people who are not from the city about the city. It just feels like normal being there for 30 years, so the romanticized version of it.
I love that you filmed in black and white. Iconic and epic. Been to N.Y. and it's an amazing place. Too much people, hurly burly and I get so stressed out. But for sure, beautiful. Probably will go back one day or maybe never again. I don't know.
Saying goodbye can be tough. When the plane launched into the air 1990 in Sydney, I cried like a baby. I was 20 yrs and had been there for over 3 months. I fell in love with the city, lived outside in a beautiful rural area, with the Australian mentality and so much more. I cried almost the whole way home to Stockholm/Sweden. Although such a long time ago, the feeling is still there and I'll never forget it. I remember watching the stars through the little window of the airplane, remembering the wonderful and hilarious time of my stay, smoking repeatedly (yeah I know... stooooopiiiid... not a smoker anymore).
Your video brings back that feeling somehow.
Thanks for sharing 💗
New York is not for me either. Happy to visit but was even more delighted to leave. It probably wasn't my best idea staying for nearly 2 weeks after I'd just been hiking in Canada and horse riding in the Rockies which was totally amazing. I thought the contrast from wilderness to City would be fun, but NY was just such a big shock to the system I thought I had adrenal fatigue there. Happy to see pics or vlogs on NY now but no desire to return even for a holiday.
Absolutely beautiful imagery! Love the loss of chroma-you look beautiful in a high ponytail-I have never experienced NY but I get what you’re saying about taking away with you when you go and have to say goodbye ❤
I lived in Brooklyn (specifically Bushwick/East Williamsburg) for just shy of three years. I've been going back and forth on whether I'd ever want to live there again, but saying a full-chested goodbye to NYC felt premature since one never knows where life will take them. Very on board with what my time there gave me, instead.

Love it... I used to live in NYV for many many years and feel the same :) I have loved all over the globe and so understand this... I think each place formed and informed me and I carry them with me in bits and pieces, essences.... Except for London, which I love so much I am endeavoring to move to permanently. :) Thank you :)
Thank you for beautiful video. You are a wonderful photography artist. Your enjoyment of your craft is evident and hours of hard work is appreciated 💕
Thank you very much! 💙
Ahhh, New York ❤ I understand the feeling of Too Much when you pull away from it for so long. Our energies change. I once thrived on the stress of navigating the city and the chaos of so many sensory inputs that it all fades into gray. Now, I'm not sure. I favor the speed of Boston over NYC.
Hope your aunt is doing well and you enjoyed your visit.
I thought end of your channel??😂😂I was like nooo
I said aloud "she's either leaving RUclips or being dramatic" 😄but turns out it was a lovely video.
Patricia you are such a inspiration for me and I really really love your videos so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you have a wonderful week ahead 🥺💫💖
Thank you! 💙
Beautifully conceived and photographed!
Thank you so much 😀
This was beautifully done! And I really loved every piece of wisdom you imparted here.
The naked truth is always better than someone's best dressed lie.
Am I the only person in the world who never fancied visiting New-York ?
Definitely not!
I’ve even meaning to go back there specifically to try the Viennese cafe Sabarsky. More accessible to me than a trip back to Vienna- but only marginally ;)
What city does it for you now?
Gorgeous and profound video. I’m adding it to my favorites. You’ve got me thinking.
Wonderful! 💙
Beautiful photography, wonderful sentiment Patricia
Many thanks!
I really enjoyed this video on many fronts. Mostly, your words were very genuine and wise beyond your years. 👏 👏 👏
Thank you so much! 💙
What a gorgeous video! I loved that you filmed most of it in black and white. I've never been to NY, have always wanted to, and will see what it has to offer me one day!
it has EVERYTHING! I hope you visit soon.
Thank you! 💙
Never say never! Or someone might remind you that you said you would never wear black or colour your hair again. Be open to everything!
Whoa
The City that never sleeps ….because they can’t! Good bye! Spent one week there in Mid town for corporate America training, no sleep, ambulance and police sirens..traffic, jumping over garbage bags on the street. I feel like NY has lost some of its luster, glamour…that existed decades ago.
😭
To me everything is resonance and that changes as you change. And that could be witth places, things and people. I've really enjoyed NYC and Brooklyn and I'm a city girl from Boston, so the urban vibe is good for me. But now I live in KY where we have all the nice parts of urban life and culture and it's far less epensive, but farm land and country side is 20 minutes away from where I live. The B&W filming is beautiful.
Thank you! 💙
Im from nyc area now in az

but why isn't for you anymore?
Never visited NYC & not interested in going there tbh. Lovely vlog though & nice photography- makes a change seeing in black & white. Loved your silver & grey outfit but not too keen on the eyeshadow look 👀 would have preferred Silver 🩶 lol to u & Gary 🐈❤
The city is different. It used to be a wonderful magical place. Now it is crime ridden and unenjoyable.😥
Very nice
