Heard this a number of times on Classic FM, liked it, but always missed the intro with details, so much so that it began to haunt me. At last browsing thru RUclips ... I have found it. My sleep will no longer be disturbed!
Thank you so much for this song Andrew - I remember my wife she heard this on the radio one morning many years ago and ever since we loved it both so much. Sadly she passed away some 5 years ago and I had your song played at the funeral - everyone was moved by it. So now and then (such as this evening) I still listen to this beautiful piece as it always brings memories, thanks for bringing them!
Thank you very much for your beautiful message, Gerard. I'm very sorry about the loss of your wife. My thoughts are with you!
Andrew York, if you read this, thank you for the awesome music, It was able to heal me through my personal struggles
Happy to hear that, Dan. All the best to you!
Sublime! I love every and each single second of this masterpiece.
Thank you very much, Mauro!
It’s easy to lose track of the value of making and sharing our art. Years later your music and performance is still moving souls, touching lives, and making the world a better place. Such an inspiration.
Many thanks for your beautiful comment, Christopher!
I love the tone this man gets... like liquid crystal. Beautiful playing (and piece).

I like this piece quite a lot, I've started learning for school.
Glad you enjoy it!
Andrew's ''Andecy'' is a perfect example of the indescribable ability of how music can transport the soul.
Listen, and go there with him...
A French word meaning a place yet to be named.
This is pure gold.
Au.

i know which piece of music i'll be buying next - i just spent the whole afternoon listening to Isbin's interpretation on Journey to the New World. This might be my favorite mood on the guitar.
Now that was another level, just beautiful. You can tell at the end that Andrew knew he just nailed it! Just wow...
Thank you, Simon!

Ok, I learned all the notes. Now how the hell do I make them sound like that?
Totally with you man
By giving them the density of a story
I hear you!! Andrew is so expressive, the music is speaking to us…..just beautiful…thank you Mr. York!!
Lmbo!!!!! Heard that!!! I assume we sit in a room by ourselves for days till it's gotten!!!!
Endless repetition until it sickens you perhaps...
No.
Once memorised there is a bit of polishing required.
I hope this enjoyable process is still happening to my death 😁
Lovely yet really simple modulation behind the easy melody, good reason to drop D for a while
Absolutely beautiful!
I love this. Wow this is beautiful!
World Of Wonder!
Beautiful piece! Thank you!
Esto es maravilloso!
i really like what emancipator did with this melody. shame he left no credits. would like to hear other songs he sampled. but through him i found you. checked this whole album once this morning, i really like your playing its very inspirational for me. some sections remind me of tomohito nishiura, making music for dark cloud and rogue galaxy
Transforming the spiritual into the physical, threw sound!
Can I offer you a walnut for your wit.
Wonderful piece played by a Master!

Well said.
I still love it.. Greetings from Germany, where it was played.
Thanks, Jürgen. I remember that day in Oberhausen very well.
A moving masterpiece!
Thank you very much, Eric!
magic..
Fantastic!!! I am from Brazil and aways loved your work since Windham Hill sampler.
wonderful
Thank you very much, Joseph!
Perfect ❤
At the end . . . not sure if it's spoken in German-but someone in the audience says, "Amazing!" or something like this? Then Andrew says, "You're Welcome!" Anyway, not SURE what the person in the audience said, but I like to think it was a word of spontaneous gratitude for an extraordinary piece of music. I first heard the studio version many, many years ago on SF Bay Area public radio. I wasn't even a classical guitar guy, but I just loved it. Went out an purchased the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler-a cassette tape-just to hear Andecy. By the way Andrew . . . have you ever wanted to begin a concert saying something along the lines of . . . "Thank you for all your support everyone! I know how much you love Andecy and Home, but tonight I wish open with "Smoke On The Water."
Stunning Andrew!
Love❤️
Thank you, Hennamond!
🥰
EDIT: Any chance for a 2021 re-visit?
Очень здорово !!))
Excellent!
Many thanks, David!
What a masterpiece! You can Play so well!
Thank you, Roastmellos!
@@AndrewYorkguitar I play Guitar and I’m learning your piece right now!
Can you please tell me how to learn to play like you, on your own? I'm very much asking for your advice... I'm a self-taught musician who has lost his way. I am madly in love with Renaissance and Medieval music, baroque and lute.
so beautiful
I need this on record asap
This is amazing
Thank you, Irem!
Fantastic
Thank you very much!
amazing
アンドリュウ氏つま弾くguitar神がかった響き渡り、まして顔スタイル私の魂にくぐっと、🎉GOOD👍️

This will be next piece in my repertoire. So beautiful. I hope I'll play it with justice with my Seagul Peppino Signature. 😍
Thank you very much, Miguel!
Sublime .
Very nice.
Magic ❤
Thanks, Alex!
@@AndrewYorkguitar you are welcome Sir. I.m the one who says thank you for creating this moment of peace, introspection, connection. I feel greateful I was able to play this piece and experience the harmony change in min 2:28 onwards with those wonderful harmonics acting as bulding blocks of the wonderful chords that end the piece... in a word... Magic!
Thank you Sir.
better Sound than the CD Recording !!
Beautiful David Daily guitar!
just learning this for our christmas concert (will it be ready in time!!??). you play it very nicely and your clip helps with the dynamics. Thanks muchly!!
WOW!
World Of Wonder with feel.
Love you and your music from Japan❤
Sen çok güzel bir insansin..
So be it! Andrew York-_-
I've Just studied and learned "e" ( lovely) and now I'm studing this amazing piece! I have some trouble with the progression from the 22nd beat! But I'm in the correct way!
I arrived here because of #AndreasKisser from #Sepultura played this song on his Instagram account lmL, music is a circle ;)
Wow, in terms of both execution and sound quality, this is so precise that for the first minute I was wondering why the studio version had been dubbed over the live performance. Of course it hadn’t; the playing here is just that good.
Since the first time I heard the song, probably in the mid ‘90s, Andecy has been one of my favorite fingerstyle guitar pieces of any genre or era. It’s just a beautiful composition. I even learned to play it at one point, but even on my best day the result was an order of magnitude poorer than this.
Thank you very much for you beautiful comment, PL!
And a heartful "Thank you" from germany. It was me, doing the audio recording for that wonderful piece of music. Thanks to Andrew for playing it so beautifully.
Try harder. Just believe in yourself and in your retirement practicing time is plentiful.
If a person could play say one 5th as good as Andrew then that person would be a great guitarist. Enough said. - Lou St.Clair
holy jeez this was originally an improv peice 0.0 jeez....i wish more people my age liked music like this, they all so absorbed by rap, but man they are missing the beauty of a melody....
1:34 is my favorite part!! 🥰
ME TOO!
Vim por causa do andreas kisser 🇧🇷 🤘🏼
Does anybody else find this tune as incredibly sensual as I do?
