There’s a possibility that they no longer want to be married anymore also, separation could mean they was living in different places, not communicating or anything. If separation was the exact same as full committed marriage, then there wouldn’t be a such thing as separation in marriage.

There is no belief in that very important part of marriage vows "FOR OR FOR WORSE" anymore.
