  • Speaking at an event on Thursday in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Premier Doug Ford slammed gas companies after a double-digit gas price increase across parts of Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
“You go out last night and you’re sitting there for 20 minutes in the lineup to get gas. It’s unacceptable,” he said adding that “Everywhere I was going it was a $1.59. You wake up this morning and it’s $1.80. It’s absolutely disgusting.”
The prices at the pumps went up by 14 cents overnight, reaching 178.9 cents/litre at most GTA stations.

I dont have a car but i still pay the huge indirect cost of carbon tax way more than what i get back. I have to add another 25-40 dollars a week for the same groceries compared to what i paid in 2021 which is only 3 years ago. Thats way higher than my raises. Everyone is digging into their savings already. Trudeau should have brought down inflation first before increasing the carbon tax

As a nation that is hydro-carbon “self sufficient” we could regulate price.
It would come at the cost of lower profits for oil companies, but this is what the US does -just last month I tanked for .75c a litre (approx conversion with exchange) in the US while on Vacation.

NEWS FLASH ! Owning a vehicle is a luxury. Ask a single parent who uses public transit to get to work.
Doug, “Correct me if I’m wrong”.
Did you actually stand in line at the pumps ?
Not likely, your chauffeur would have filled the limo prior as not to subject you to the time inconvenience. Good story though, tough words, soft on action.

Hey brainiac, it takes fuel to harvest grain and vegetables. Fuel is needed to transport goods to keep businesses afloat. You aren't getting your fast food or clothes without fuel, my dude. It's like someone opened your skull and deficated where your brain should be.

Well Mr. Ford it is the cost of doing business in Canada. Everyone wants everything for free so we are taxed to death. If we voted better this would not be happening. We can only blame ourselves for the mess we are in. Debt and immigration and wild spending are what cause all this. Mr. Ford you are part of the problem. So please help fix it. Kind regards.

The US gallon is defined as 231 cubic inches (3.785 liters). In contrast, the imperial gallon, which is used in the United Kingdom, Canada, and some Caribbean nations, is defined as 4.54609 liters.

Summer gas is more expensive to produce. It has 1% butane and winter gas is 10% butane. The oil companies are still gouging.

  • @marcinhibner9507

Ehhh Europe pays way more a Liter, suck it up Canada is 3rd in oil resources but I quess its labour and production of separation something like that that overweights the cheaper option to get its own gasoline cheaper in closest proximity, kind of weird but. I always thought Canada will be the cheapest and wealthiest and funnest since its so cold and summer season short it would have it's incentives for ever and ever for Canadian's.
