Funny how they make it seem like the cargo is still being packed and prepared while the plane is on final approach. Ah, the wonders of television make-believe.
DRAMA!!!!
Good documentary. Shame about the producers creating unnecessary drama though...
true it seems everything does this these days creating stupid drama.
+Flying101 Right? I bet the producers would've loved to see the plane go up in flames.
I remember watching this back in 2011-2012 when searched up the Airbus Beluga on RUclips.
Nostalgia.
Thank you for posting this.
Parts 1 & 2 were painlessly short and well filmed. Why do so many "commenters" have to find something to bitch about?
Great video but the action died out ....they filmed Beluga 1 on the ground that became beluga 2 in the air.......Hitch Cock would have requested to re film....LOL
In the beginning of this part, the numbers on the tail winglet say 2. Also near the end starting at around 7:11. Obviously there are more than one beluga, and footages from different planes were stitched together.
Too much like watching TV. Edited to make it take longer, and manufactured drama up the ass.
+Docktor Jim So you noticed the lack of a storm in the distance?
John RossStar The whole thing was scripted to create drama. It was a routine flight.
Did anyone else realize that they used two different planes for this. Number 1 and number 2, the cargo was in number 1 but it showed number 2 as being the one coming in to land. And then at the end number 2 is being shown going back to the factory. I just found it strange.
***** It was a great video, they just didn't use the same plane through out the video.
I saw the same exact thing
yea, I was like. wtf.. the first one was 2., then number 1. wonder what happened?
Colin Sevier Haha, you're not the only one! I had to watch it a couple times to realize that it wasn't me, it really was a different plane.
Gavin Smith Plane number 1 was the same one that landed and took off, plane 2 was the one in the stock footage that they were showing
It is a compromise. You need a tall fuselage to hold the cargo, but the bigger body catches wind like a sail, hence vulnerable to cross wind. You have requirement to fulfill, so you have to live with whatever limitation that it comes with.
That's because this is a modified A300-600. The A300 and A310 (the first Airbuses to be developed) both have yokes. The A320 was the first one to have the sidesticks.
When they talk it sounds so complicated, but when you see it, it looks so easy
@hunterTS4 Yes am serious?I am a Pilot. It's impossible to steer an aircraft into wind while taking off, you will go off the runway,you can only do that in the air ( drift/sideslip) to maintain track. An aircraft has to maintain wings level and the pilot uses rudder to maintain runway centreline (not to drift into wind) and once in the air take up a heading to maintain runway heading or whatever track desired.Never heard of weather vaining. Google crosswing takeoff for details
An Airbus A380 is not a tiny plane, it can carry up to about 850 people total! Also, there are currently 5 Airbus Belugas in the world.
If I flew this, I would talk to the cargo for high spirits xD
The A340-600 is actually the longest plane Airbus has ever made, longer than the A380.
Amazing planes... Did anyone notice how they change between Beluga 1 and Beluga 2? Interesting... ;-)
@tradingpilot I agree with you, got to love the way they set it all to rock guitar music when anything goes well.
And how they make a meal out of a 0.5 degree misalignment when rolling it in. Oh and I don't know if you picked it up the 8 or 9 times it's mentioned, but apparantly Beluga can't fly in winds over 35 mph, I missed that the first 7 times :)
I bet building airplanes follows a tight schedule. Delayed delivery of parts will be really costly to the production line.
I never understand how we have something like this suspend in the air for hours and yet unable to find ways to develop abundant clean energy.
In fact, the workload is evenly distributed among the cockpit crew ;)
They make it seem like every flight is a life or death situation lol!
@MaxSafeheaD
It's an Airbus A300, Einstein, european.
Besides, separate stearing for the wheels only enables easier taxiing, ie cornering on narrow taxiways and platforms, it does not enable one to land easier in crosswinds.
The plane that they put the wings in is a different plane to the one shown flying , the wings went into one , 2 is shown flying
The narrative is way over the top, "the Beluga have to take off immediately as the storm coming" and not a single cloud miles away when they take off; Good stuff anyway.
actually even though the copilot does more job than the captain the captain is responsible for making huge decision and his job is more stressful
Every time the narrator said "wings" it reminds me of chicken wings
The Airbus Beluga A300-600ST will be a perfect bomber
for transport purposes since its designated Super Transporter.
That is one weird plane... BTW the narrator sounds like the tutorial voiceover in FSX
When the plane lands, it's number is 2, but when it takes off,
Next time they can try use a blimp...
Plane with Hydrocephalus
This aircraft fantastic congratulations to the designers and engineers hope one day seeing this magnificent aircraft landing in Brazil shame and unique to Airbus quem e do Brasil da um joinha
@NathalieSverige There are 5 Beluga's around, each one has a different number painted on.
Air Chance hits again. Why not load it in the wind shadow of the Hangar?
Never thought of that, I guess.
Thumbs up for Marcheso's Hair!
Thumbs up for Marcheso's Hair! (captain)
there are 5 balugas in total
Blauga
Good one!
Awsum, thanks for uploading 😊 🖒
what a great cargo plane wish they had some here they would have lots of jobs for it
thumbs up for a airbus without a joystick.
@MrDantesmith .......you serious? you would point the nose of the airplane into the direction the wind is blowing from, pilots call it weather vaining
if anybody notices the planes are switched beacuse first its 5 then 1
@Gibson2471 the beluga... But how was the first 1 made? probally made at 1 big place instead of around the world.
i just noticed that this airbus has a yoke whaen other airbuses have joysticks!
Good job humans, impressive.
Sometimes I wonder, why Beluga needs only two engines and that lil wheels, compare to the A380-800....hhmmm...
@JaWayne5 It's not a danger to fly. Half the maneuvers they're describing as dangerous can be and are commonly performed by many aircraft - including the AN-225.
Flying is dangerous. I suppose nobody told that to these filmmakers.
what about it?. Basicly the job of the Antonov an-225 was actualy to play the role of space shuttle transporter when it was used to transport the soviet made Space Shuttle Borran.
6:29 Sorry narrator explain to me how one steers a plane into wind while on the ground. Impossible imo. Thx uploader for the videos. Don't think it's the most accurate video though. Very dramatic (just for tv offcourse)
why can not expect the rain and load this Beluga after this?
just because you said that now 6 people start hating -_____-
Really cool, but I'd like to know what the clips of music are ^-^
@stuya9
If you had the faintest idea about how to use punctuation I may also know what the hell it was you just said.
Wow cool
Dear narrator, no need to be so dramatic about it! xD
@aatspeed90 seriously this aircraft is amazing that it flys its not supposed to be beautiful
why do u think most airplane parts are transported to most airplane factories?. They wouldent be at various factories and used in aircraft construction had it not been for the existance of this plane?
the plane with the big brain;)
The Captain was not flying Beluga. The First Officer was. Discovery narration fail.
Too much drama, a bit of science.
There's 5 or 6 Belugas all up.
Wouldn't be sure about flying in thatLOL!!!
it is surprising to see that an airbus has a yock...don't they just have just a control stick?
@killadino1258 Airbus need's Only an A300 to Transport Aircraft Parts,unlike Boeing,that needs a 747 to Transport Aircraft Parts
What does heavy metal has to do with aviation ?... seriously...
911gp it's badass
think we heard a naughty French word at 4:37 ...
@Cobyw1 there are 5.
Airbus with a yoke :O
those engiens are strong
cool
@xuser48
Yes, I did deservedly get beasted for getting that backwards!
Not nice :( when editors switch aircraft and aircraft types footage around mid story. As if nobody will notice! UGGH!!
07:00 fake safety belt, for filming purpose =D lol
YEAH I hate that they make aviation sound like its so dangerous i bet all the narrators and directors are haters of aviation O.O
00:02 music?
the distance they cud fly i suppose.
@yonal182 huh?
@hackerboy96
look at antonov an-225 ;)
mhm where as the Antonov actualy has more than 2.
the boeing ceo dislikes this video
@Gibson2471 Aero Spacelines Super Guppy's.
AAAAAAAWWWWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@yonal182 oh now i get it
What about Antonov An-225
No joysticks for this Airbus?
It's based on the A300 which was a pre flight-by-wire aircraft. The sidestick was introduced later in the A320. A beluga successor is likely to be based on the A330 and would have sidesticks as the base model.
is...is that Samuel L narrating this?
A340 isn't small??
@Aviation2001 ..So... It was you! =_=
jk :)
There are 5 Belugas
If it is such a danger to fly and has so many flaws why should it be cleared for flight, it's just a flight hazard. The Antonov has the same cargo size, and is way safer to fly than this "unique" plane.
It's 1
@AirbusFreak100 the disliker must be a boeing fanboy.
Ok ok
Такое на самом деле есть?
lol, crosswind my ass.jaja. i have seen enough videos of regular airplanes crabbing to know better LOLOLOL
"beluga is filled with 16 tons of precious cargo, 9000 gallons of jet fuel, and is about to head down the runway with 30 MPH crosswinds" We are not all idiots narrator! Pilots fly like that EVERYDAY! Stop EXAGGERATING!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? I don't beeline!
@ernshengjoel ooops no more thumbs up lol, there was 1 hater
