A couple of years ago I bought a couple of items from Jo Sports (New York) one was a signed page signed by Tony Canzoneri, on looking at it today and turning it over the other side is signed "Very sincerely Jim Maloney" I had never herd of him even google has nothing on him. what a great fighter sharkey was, he had it all but had a bad temper that some times let him down .
Beautiful head and upper body movement by Sharkey. He does a great job of slipping, ducking and rolling with Maloney's punches in this fight.

Jim Maloney was my dad’s first cousin. I’m pretty sure he is the big guy in the Scully cap taking off Jim’s robe.

I had always thought he was born in Ireland, but my aunt (his daughter) said he was born in Boston.
