This was my and my former husband's home; we bought it presale in 1994 for $369k when it was just a shell, and it was sold after he passed in 2014. In 1994, I designed the entire apartment, including the layout, so it's very gratifying to see that the renovators kept nearly all of my original floor plan and layout ideas. We created the loft; we added the master bedroom, which forms the upstairs loft. My husband built it with the help of friends -- I remember the struggle getting the huge I-beam in there! Even the radiant floor heating was our doing. I smiled when the presenter said of the chandelier, "They say it may be an original 1909 chandelier or a replica." No, it's not! It's a chandelier I chose in '94 to complement the cathedral feeling of the turret, which we used as a dining room. Also, that's not all original brick in the turret room. I insisted the builders add matching brick facing to the columns they added that jut out from the wall, which are structural reinforced concrete to support the original brick. I decidedly don't love some of the staging decor or art; especially, the new dining area isn't to my taste. I had my piano there instead, and behind the piano was an enclosed storage room/workshop. So interesting to see this thirty years later!
I have pictures of the condo from the '90s when I lived there if the new owners happen to see this post and would like to contact me.

Wow! It's heartwarming to see that your former home, which you designed extensively, retains many of your original elements. You chose the chandelier to match the space's cathedral feel and added concrete-reinforced pillars disguised as brick in the turret room for structural support. While you don't love some of the new decor changes, especially the dining area where you once had a piano, it's satisfying that the renovators preserved your layout and much of your design. Your creative touch continues to leave a lasting impact on the apartment.
      Thanks for the message!

That Church to home conversion is so nice. I love the exposed brick and that circular room. Here in Washington DC, some churches and schools are being converted to condos also. But The Cornerstone there in Vancouver is really nice. 😍😍😍

Although you've shown us many, many beautiful homes, this is the first one I think I'd earnestly consider buying if I had the money. I really like it. Of course there are some minor things I would change ...well maybe not so minor. For starters, it looks like the second bedroom upstairs does not have a bathroom for that person to use on the same floor. Therefore I think I'd have to figure out a way to fully or semi enclose that "flex" room to make it more private of a bedroom since a bathroom is close by. Then for the second bedroom upstairs, turn it into part den, part walk-in closet maybe?
What is the heating/air conditioning situation for this hard loft?
Thanks Nina and Happy Holidays to you and yours. Cheers! 😀
    Should I start over? 😁😄😆

Well there we go, we finally found something you'd like to live in. That's a start:) Good options there to switch things around. The heating is gas ( aka the fireplace) plus radiant throughout. No air con as it's a 90's rebuild and they were not being implemented at the time. You'd have to do a stand alone plug in one for now, or the new owner could see if the strata would allow a proper install.
All the best & Happy Holidays! 🎄✌🏽

Interesting that you'd want this, Ontario! I am the original owner of this condo; my former husband and I bought it presale in 1994 and I designed everything, including the floor plan. I had that "flex" area as a closed-off private bedroom, which we used as an office.

The place is very nice. Again, if I were in the market and had the $$$$, I would have seriously at least touring the place in person.

Yes, sadly, no balcony. I was the original owner, and that was the single biggest drawback when I and my former husband lived there.
