I know, right?! When I learned it (actually from a video that was sent in by a lovely threadhead that we posted a long time ago) my brain was like "KABOOM"! Makes life so much easier. Especially with things like embroidery, where you are constantly having to rethread your needle.
Thanks for showing us the trick on how to make a knot with the thread. I've been actually tying a knot the old school way all these years and didn't know there was a better way of tying a knot on your thread. Loving this channel ! xoxoxoxo
I've been watching your videos for several years now and you keep getting more beautiful, crafty, and confident. It's been a pleasure watching your tutorials and trying them out for myself. Keep being you. :)
this looks like a cute dress that you could make for a Renaissance fair. just maybe use different colors than light blue. however the blue is also really beautiful.... I might need to make two.
THANK YOU. I have a sewing machine, but for some reason I prefer by hand; the first corset I ever made was sewn by hand and my blood and sweat are literally in it. I love any project that calls for hand-sewing. Thank you thank you thank you.
Get them big enough to be able to measure 10 to 12 inches in from each side. Measure your waist add 4 or so inches to that measurement then cut that measurement in half and add 20 to 24 inches. What ever that final number is should be how wide the scarf needs to be. You could also use two rectangle pieces of fabric cut to your specific needs. Does that make sense??
you're so gorgeous, Corinne. that dress looks great one you! i just wish you guys/gals would post more videos like you use to. i miss watching new threadbanger diy videos every week. *sigh :/
Cor, not gonna lie.... This video..... Is my absolute favorite video since you came back to threadbanger! All your funky crafty side went kaboom all over this project! I loved it! Keep more of these coming! Since we're going summer themed... Could you possibly teach us how to make a seaglass bracelet? I have been stock piling seaglass for years... But don't know what to use it on!
I've made shirts out of rayon sarongs in much the same way, love love love the batik fabrics! And the occasional fringe! I usually fold it in half across the middle, cut and bind the neck hole dead center, then just sew up the sides leaving enough space for my arms. I think I'll try the tie though, that'll add shape. Thanks!!
Awesome tute! I've seen some kaftans where the seam is created under the armpit area and flairs out in an A style. But it works best on a wider kaftan.
omg as if you have glow worm?? is that from the glow butterfly series? my grandma used to read them to me when i was little, i didn't realise they were in america too!
Hey lady! You can always go to Jo-Anne fabrics or any other fabric store to have them cut something that will fit. I like to do it that way anyway because there's sooooo many choices of patterns to choose from! :). The only thing is, depending on the fabric and the way its cut, you may want to hem the edges, but thats what hem tape is for lol.
Omg I'm gonna try this like right away! It's so cute! But if ur to lazy to sew them all together (like moi ;) then u could probably just take an extra long piece of fabric, fold it in half & then cut the hole for the head & carry on with the rest! Idk if it'll work as well but I'll try it!
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing!! I'd like to ask a question if possible. By looking I can get a idea but, how big are the scarves? I mostly ask to get better idea of the ratio width/height. Also, this is pretty see trough right? What do you recommend to use it with? Thanks
I really love this video, but where in the heck do you get those large scarfs? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Thanks for your great videos you are very talented at what you do, so keep up the good work.
That is so cute! I love you Threadbanger! I just learned how to use a sewing machine, so could you please do a simple DIY clothing episode for beginners like me?
I saw this exact thing in a store the other day for $40!!! Needless to say, I will be hitting up goodwill to get me some pretty scarves and make my own for probably $2 or so.
Since Im a kid and just use Cotten Pashmenas for this (a winter dress version, Ill add sleeves) could I sew it with my machine? I have a brother lx2500 any suggestiions or tips on what stitch to use and stuff. THANKS THREADBANGER!
meg allen cole actually has another caftan video on her channel, it shows another head hole technique and shows a no sew method. Also, can I say Corrine's hair makes her look like Cleopatra, SO pretty!
HOLY CRAP I ALMOST MISSED THIS VIDEO!!!! RUclips only show's highlights. but not you? you're a very big highlight to me!!! (i keep forgetting to highlight 'everything')
Question. If you wanted to make this a little more closed, like o the sides so I could wear it to school, but still have that open flowy feel, how would you do that?
What are the measurements on these scarves? And where do you find great, inexpensive scarfs? I want to make a ton of these for my pregnant self. I saw this video last year and ended of improvising. A lot! By making mine out of a few scarves from the dollar store. Very time consuming.
I'm a plus size girl, and I think all you have to do is find bigger fabric. it doesn't have to be handkerchiefs, you may aswell use a nice fabric from a store, or some printed bedsheets :)
Imagining rob filming the parts with her in it is adorable
Kristan Collins ikr!? They are the true definition of relationship goals
plzz give your no
Woah Corrine you look so different!
I have been watching y'all nonstop for 3 days....
I know, right?! When I learned it (actually from a video that was sent in by a lovely threadhead that we posted a long time ago) my brain was like "KABOOM"! Makes life so much easier. Especially with things like embroidery, where you are constantly having to rethread your needle.
Her hair cut looks like Jessie J's hair a while ago
Thanks for watching;)

I've been watching your videos for several years now and you keep getting more beautiful, crafty, and confident. It's been a pleasure watching your tutorials and trying them out for myself. Keep being you. :)
I don't think so. Her tutorial is for a no sew caftan using one piece of fabric. I am showing different sewing techniques and using two scarves.

That tie-dye top you're wearing looks amazing.

Awesome tute! I've seen some kaftans where the seam is created under the armpit area and flairs out in an A style. But it works best on a wider kaftan.

I'm living for her short hair!
Why does Corinne look great in everything?
So cute! Love the print!
Love the dress!! Do the scarves need to have a certain width to be able to use them for this?

I love the dress you are wearing ...Did you make it? if so how about a video on how to do it for the rest of us...thanks
I rly want rob and corinne to react to their old vids....
The dress looks super light and flowy, but does that also mean that you have to wear a slip underneath or something?
That is so cute! I love you Threadbanger! I just learned how to use a sewing machine, so could you please do a simple DIY clothing episode for beginners like me?
I saw this exact thing in a store the other day for $40!!!
Needless to say, I will be hitting up goodwill to get me some pretty scarves and make my own for probably $2 or so.
