I got "introduced" to Renaedo Sidney watching a TV Feature on the Big Time Tournament in Vegas. At that time, I was paying the most attention to Greg Oden and OJ Mayo.
As a was watching, they took a quick moment to focus on who at the time was the best freshman in America...this kid.
Next thing i hear, he transfers to Artesia HS from Mississippi. Im showing my age here, but I competed with the O'Bannons so i know the alwsys had an elite program.
Fun fact. As a sophomore, he led the team in scoring, and they went on to win a state title. Mind you, his teammate that year was JAMES HARDEN.
Afterward, he had two more All-State seasons at Fairfax, another legendary program.
I had a chance to see him here in Philly at an Elite HS Basketball camp. He dominated the game rhe entire time i saw him.
I hope the man is doing well. I'm sure he is.
His skill set SCREAMED NBA early on. He had it all. I just wish they hadn't told him so soon. When you tell a 14-15 year kid he made it, and treat him like it, what do u expect to happen?

I don't mean they're games are exactly similar, derrick is more athletic and can be compared to "karl malone but with a three point shot". Renardo has great physical skills he's very strong and can jump very well despite his weight, and offensive game is very refined. I'm just saying that Renardo has all the skills to dominate but his baggage and his work ethic is holding him back from being "elite". And derrick didn't start dominanting until his junior year in college.

His first choice was not to play overseas. It was to get the exposure of playing in the NCAA. But because of the lack of restraint shown by his parents, he is messed over. Just think if they could just wait 1 year to cash in it would not have negatively impacted their son and his future earnings.

"Back in the South, this is what we do," Sidney's mother, Patricia, said proudly. "We celebrate big."
The Sidney family had left Mississippi for the Los Angeles area to further his basketball career, and the move had paid off.
    --------------------------------------------------------
You screwed up your sons chances of playing college basketball because you were more concerned about the pay off. Think about your son while he is overseas playing basketball for a year. Short sided thinking.

The collins twins? Have you ever even watched the collins twins play? They're strictly hustle players with height. Renardo is more cut from the mold of a derrick coleman, great skillset both inside and outside, but weight issues and character issues are holding him back just like they held derrick back from having a hof career.

I'm not a fan of either squad. Renardo's better. Bigs with size and athleticism come out of HS overrated all the time. A big, athletic, sweet-shooting player like Renardo with handles who can bring other bigs out from under the basket while still swatting cats is rare. He's gonna be the FoY I think, and a real stud and surprise. Great pickup for Miss St.
    Go Cards though.
