That is my pleasure, Chris! I only filmed about 20 per cent of what was there as well, since the event is so big. Hoping to return again next year and get even more!
Thanks for the comments on my mk3 cavalier SRi, it’s actually a turbo technics converted car from the dealership, it’s an 89 😉, 30 years old this August.
Thanks you ever so much indeed for getting in touch! Ian Seabrook from the HubNut channel, Matthew Richardson from the Furiousdriving channel and I love Mark III Cavaliers. Can't believe how cheap the standard models still are, given their rarity. Matt reviewed one in his channel recently. Of course, the SRis, CDs and the Turbos are a bit more desirable, aren't they? Wonderful that yours is a period Turbo Technics conversion from the dealership!
Class. That line up of lovely R8s only confirms in my mind that we will be back in this field in the 2040s celebrating the Nissan Qashqai, Kia Picanto, Peugeot 207 and Citroën C1 etc..
No problem at all, sir! I barely got round it in ten parts....Unbelievably big show, the largest one day show I have ever seen. I am just rendering the first part at the moment.
Golfs as far as the eye can see, Valver, conversions, airride even a Rallye. Ooo that plate on the NSX fabulous machine, too many cars on these vids to give credit too. Thank you for the shout out - *ben
My pleasure, sir! It's a 1991 NSX, apparently. The Volkswagen section was just one place to see some classic Golfs, so I highly recommend booking in for next year's event. I only filmed about 20 per cent of what was there...
Great Video once again!! Thanks for the shout out on my 2.0s Capri ! 😎👍I was going to come and say hi, but didn’t want to disturb your shoot!! Great work thank you🙏😇
That's very kind, sir, although I managed to see your beautiful 2.0 S when it was going around the arena and I didn't film it (along with the Anglia, the Rover 216s, the Tomcats and the other Capri), which is a huge privilege. We are going to be filming a video talking about the cars of The Professionals this weekend, and I will also be filming Laser Capri's 1986 2.0 Laser quite soon, so plenty more Capri content to come!
a good show that, i had an acclaim good little car and it was the CD. i see some are keeping alive the rover 216sli, mine was the 214sli, and had a couple of good attempts at killing me on duel carridgeways by cutting out completley. also i found you can put it into reverse at 30mph, not a feature on many cars of the 90s.
Thanks ever so much indeed, Nicholas! The Acclaim CD you had sounds wonderful. I have owned five Rovers including a 216 SLI of the R8 generation, and three of them had the 1.4 K Series engine like your 214 SLI. None of those tried to kill me on dual carriageways that I remember! Didn't try putting them in reverse at 30 mph myself...
Thanks for an awesome drool inducing video, so nice to see these old cars again, I like you got it wrong, I said the 1.1 Firefly Fiesta was a 1.4S! Your slip up was calling the Singer Gazelle was a Vogue so we're quits 😂
Ah yes, we all get caught out at some point, don't we? I don't think I knew the Firefly even existed... If it was a very late one, it was possibly a run out model for the Mk2. As I said, I am not great on Rootes cars, so I should have kept my mouth shut, shouldn't I? The Vogue and Gazelle did look similar from the front, but the Vogue was based on the Super Minx, so it was much bigger and more modern if I remember correctly... At least I apologised at the start and in the description for all the incorrect information, as I always do!
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Yeah the Firefly was a special edition. I'm a bit older than you though so they were about in my youth when I first passed my test in '88. As for the Gazelle, I only knew that for certain as my parents had one in the mid 70's when I was little and I remember the wood and leather and thinking that we were posh.....the mind of a 6 year old!!
Thanks Graeme! My knowledge of 1980s Fords is improving, but it's a slow process to get up to expert level... I passed my test in 2001, and will be filming a similar car to the one my driving instructor had quite soon for the Tweed Jacket Reviews series... The Gazelle must have really stuck in your mind, as did my parents' 1983 Volkswagen Jetta when I was growing up!
@@lloydvehicleconsulting I remember all of my parents cars from about age 5, I think thats where my petrolhead passion started from. I'm more into classics and HubNut type cars than modern stuff.....its fun because there's always something new to learn. Also a great way of getting rid of people, start talking cars and 9 out of 10 times you get the peace you were after in the first place!!
Yes, that's right, I actually made a video recently of what cars were in my family when I was growing up if you would like to watch it. My grandfather was a petrolhead and could fix his own cars, so it definitely runs in my family too. I like modern cars and classic cars, but those who watch my channel definitely prefer the older ones, that is for sure. I have an interview with Ian Seabrook coming up tomorrow (hopefully the sound will be all right), so I hope you enjoy that as well.
It is a bit confusing, isn't it? Apparently, cars between 2001 and 2009 are supposed to go in a separate modern classics section, but that doesn't seem to have happened for the drivers of the Almera and the Mk5 Golf! No idea how the 2016 MG3 got in there either...
@@Lasercapri, I think we all wish that, don't we? My Rover 216 SLI died within a year of me selling it, which was sad... It's not realistically possible to keep all our cars, is it, though?
Thanks ever so much indeed, glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I only filmed about 20 per cent of what was there, so I am definitely thinking of going back next time so I can capture even more....
Yes, there were plenty of Carinas before the E, such as the Carina II which was made in Japan, but was the Carina E's immediate predecessor. The Carina E, apart from the very earliest cars and the GT-i, was made at Toyota's new plant in Burnaston, as the E stands for Europe. Hope that helps!
Absolutely stunning video....your walkaround shoot and commentary is just fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
That is my pleasure, Chris! I only filmed about 20 per cent of what was there as well, since the event is so big. Hoping to return again next year and get even more!
Thank you also for another shout out. There are so many cars! I hope I can go one year with you!
Yes sir, that sounds most agreeable! Glad you liked it.

Hi mate
Lovely to see you at Bromley pageant today. It was my first time there and what a massive show

Great stuff - it sounds like you watch a lot of UKTV Gold, with all the references to those old cop shows.
Oh, I don't actually, I just have a really large DVD collection of old classics from the 1960s and 1970s!

Great walk around but a few cars that shouldn’t be there - why a 2002 Almera and mk5 Golf ?

Something to consider please, could you do a video explaining how the U.K number plate sytem works,as an Australian I haven't a clue.Cheers!
Oh, that is an excellent video idea! That's easy enough to explain, although it's not immediately obvious at first.... I shall do that at some point.
Did i here Capri Laser 👍 great look at the cars lot more then I thought as well
