I own a smart with 71 ps and this is my opinion: If you like to drive a little sporty and you have the money or a nice buying option then (of course) go for the bigger one because it will be better. If the smaller engine is enough for is something nobody can tell you. For myself, I found that it is quite fun torturing the smaller engine (which is actually bigger than the 90ps engine). Speeds below 80 are totally fine. The only place I crave a little more is while driving 100+. Passing someone will most likely result in a kickdown at those speeds which... can be strangely addictive since the engine sounds quiet nice and in most cars you won't legally be able to stay in kickdown for half a minute. Little Disclaimer: I can't give you a comparison to the 90ps engine since I got the 71 version and I fell in love with it while test driving it and I bought it used. Fun fact: the 71ps engine isn't turbocharged with all the pros and cons of that. Just thought I throw that out there.
@@davidhsieh2761 I find that if you lift up the gas, the smart doesn’t shift at all until you accelerate again. What I do is to just keep a steady foot and let the gearbox do its thing, the pause is longer but it doesn’t lurch forward that way, so maybe you should try that sometime :)
this looked super fun
My favorite car ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Looks fun!!!
Wow! drive it like you stole it !
oh thanks man ! That's exactly the kind of video I was looking for !
Would you say the 71PS is decent or I should consider buying the 90?

Learn to revmatch and heal toe, your driving will be 100 times better.
It's an automatic lol
Even on an automatic, I find that it shift smoother if you let go the gas slighty right before it shifts up

On DCT it doesn't make a difference
