Liberated macaws in La Moskitia, Honduras

This tree full of liberated scarlet macaws are part of a large number of parrots that have been released at the Rescue and Liberation Center of La Moskitia, Honduras, which is part of our macaw conservation project. These birds are those that have either been confiscated in the illegal trade of parrots by authorities, or have been rescued from the wild. As recent released birds, they are learning to be wild. In the meantime many of them return to the Center to eat during the day. Here the yare waiting for breakfast above the indigneous village of Mabita.
