I feel like there's some effects that everyone needs to have, and in the 'out there' territory, you have stuff like a ring modulator (low frequency ring mod is uniquely crunchy), an e-bow (for those post rock/metal and michael manring moments), and a Whammy. The classic Whammy sound is so perfectly imperfect.
You are so good at demoing stuff that you make me want to buy gear like this that ive usually not been very interested in. Nate your creativity makes me feel inspired. Thank you!
Love the detune with the clean signal blended in. I'd do that with the regular Bass Whammy, but it inverts the signal and blending in cleans does the reverse
I wish they made a whammy pedal with wet/dry blend and volume knobs, and an algorithm that makes the volume more balanced across octaves, I love my whammy dt but i can't play it live without a limiter pedal after, it's so much louder than the bypass sound, in both bypass modes. regardless, it's an amazing piece of gear, this new one looks grand too
All hail the great lefty and his amazing pedal! If anyone hasn't ever watched this guy in action... he slaps upside down better than Nate can the "normal" way. Go see!
I don't know about this one, but I have a 'classic' whammy reissue from maybe fifteen years ago, and I'd use it a lot on bass, especially with distortion and ambience/mod effects and an e-bow for big howling stoner/post-metal sounds. At the time, I played a fretless jazz, and I never had anything resembling a tracking problem. You play a single note, you get a single note out. You slide or slap or tap, the note slides or slaps or taps. You play a double stop that's an octave or fifths, you get an octave or fifths. you play any other kind of interval as a double stop or larger chord and you get deliberately interesting chaos. Compare that tracking to the guitar/bass synth in a Line6 Bass Pod Pro where air currents in the room cause the most carefully plucked note to warble around like it drank a handle of vodka.
I have the whammy dt, it tracks fretless perfectly, even four note chords, no latency either. I'd expect this one to track as good or better, since it's a newer model.
@@D.Leikert-h9l Its not on the Zero Mod thumb Rest website I just checked again not the same as the clear plastic square thumb rest on his fender jazz bass
Nate, here is the question I need answered! I have a Whammy Pedal that is a few years old on my board. When I have a song coming up that I intend to use it on, when I turn the pedal on and have it standby, there is something like a 5-10db drop. It really sucks. I am very used to having effect and dry volumes on bass effects. Anyway, does this pedal also have an output drop once you turn it on (compared to your dry signal output). It's my main gripe and I am wondering if Digitech did anything about it with this release.
It matters a lot what Gen it is. This is the newest gen with true bypass. The V4 did not have true bypass and heavily colored the sound. Look up your version and you should know
@@bendayze Right, but I am asking about what about the Mononeon edition, because I don't want to buy another Whammy and have the same complaint. My current is a Whammy 5. Love it besides that single aspect.
Mine does the same thing, so I have it on a bypass loop out of my main pedal path. When I need it, I add it to the circuit. Did the same thing with old ehx pedals. Saturn works has good bypass loops pedals that work great for this.
@@bendayze It isn't faulty, it's just one of those pedals that has a db reduction when engaged. I wish there was a Dry volume and Effects volume on all new bass pedals...
The 3 octaves Up ist great for communication with 🦇 and 🐬
And Alien 👽
Doug Wimbish over here like, "damn, they couldn't have put all this s*** in one box for me 30 years ago?" 🤣

2:13 is a really great approximation of a very early Mark King sound.
This pedal is wild. I love how un-apologetically original anything MonoNeon is.

Thanks a ton, man! Very kind. 😁🙏
Now the first demo that makes me want to purchase this pedal. Excellent playing!
I love seeing all my favorite bassists I grew up being inspired by on youtube learning and growing together.
Thanks for the side view around the 7-minute mark. It was really helpful to see your right-hand technique from that angle.
Any time! 😁
Dude you do the best gear reviews! The stuff you play fits perfectly with that pedal
Much appreciated! Thanks, Jarrod. 😁🙏

“Shut up and take my money.” Even if I didn’t use the thing live it would still be fun to have around
you absolutely killed it!
Thanks, man! Glad you liked it. 😁
Those hypersonic harmonics were zesty!
Dive bomb with fuzz distortion and evnvelope filter create a really dive bomb effect
biblically accurate mononeon at 00:52
daaang harmonics on that thing sound siiick, especially with the divebomb
I'm curious to check out the 3-octave funcion...also with my mandolin 😁😁
Ciao Nathan from Italy!
Arf arf arf.
That would sound wild! Thanks, man! 😁🙏
nice man hoooraw this rips bro!!! love it !! love your channel too 👍👊🙋

Oh wow, most of those modes are completely different from the standart whammy! now i need a second one!
Good tones.
Super fun!
good demo with skills
Crazy! Love it!
I wonder how it tracks on fretless.

Damn the neighburs dog is no in front of my house after you showed the hypersonic mode
The hypesonic made my dog howl
Damn, I was expecting octave down on your E0 sig bass 😅
Awesome pedal.
this is realy cool!
Imagine hitting a Dimebag style dive bomb on that 3 octave setting...
Amazing ✨
I have the MonoNeon fender V bass so I think legally I have to buy this...
1:21 sounds like a party horn lol
GIMME THAT DOLPHIN FUNK
NATE NAVARRO, What are those clear plastic square thumb rest called and where can you purchase them?
I think It's a "Zero Mod thumb Rest"
@@D.Leikert-h9l Its not on the Zero Mod thumb Rest website I just checked again not the same as the clear plastic square thumb rest on his fender jazz bass
It's a finger ramp!
Pretty sure its a ramp made from plexi
Yo Wayne! It’s a plexiglass bass ramp. I bought it from a shop called “bonk” off of reverb.com
it got that clown horn bass tone
This looks like it could be gravy.
been using one of those for years.
Nice Thumbrest on the bass - barely visible but very effective!
bass ramp...
I have a vts of a whammy and it's nuts
Wow !!! What the.....🤩
Excellent ❤❤❤
Ah nice! A funk generator
I'd get it just for the color.
That thing looks so sick!
Your voice has gotten deeper

Whammy bot this man's bass fartin
My kid is named Nathan. Maybe because of you
What?! 🤯
It could be that a few people are already looking for a larger pedalboard on the internet :-)
If im not mistaken, that pedal baseplate appears to be made of prefabulated aluminite.
My dogs are losing their minds
7:11 I got this on repeat
first I need to be able to play like Nate or Mono. and then I'll buy this pedal)
i want it
I dont play bass , but i want rhis pedal
Digitech shut up and take my money!!!!
Why do I hear Mario Kart Wii music?
👍👌
Oh ye oh ye yoh
Mono non no
😅😅😅😢
3 octaves does not sound good
so the detune is a chorus ???
So it turns your bass into a guitar , now that's a dope pedal
Grow ya hair man ❤
😂
Wowww so cool
