S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a next-gen sequel to the award-winning PC game franchise developed by GSC Game World, set to deliver a unique action experience of survival in the post-apocalyptic Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an upcoming first-person shooter survival horror video game developed and published by Ukrainian game developer GSC Game World. It will be the fourth main game released in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game series as well as the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game in 15 years since the release of Call of Pripyat in 2009
"Pod is my apartment, now." -God Consciousness Skif
"If I can't have my apartment then no one else can" Skif probably
Zone has become his home tbh... And also a wife (lol)
Can blame the dude, house prices are high asf
The only thing I can think of is that Skiff is one of the agents who escaped from the area... if not, it's a shitty story, honestly.
>Lost his the only apartment in 2k21 during the housing crisis
>Makes the whole world pay for this
Absolutely understandable
That's literally 3 out of 4 endings.
With housing prices, its reasonable to be this angry
2022*
It makes sense for me for this to be the canon ending as it leaves things the most open in terms of sequels and story telling possibilities
true this ending leads to many possibility like why only Chernobyl could be the Zone ? In Poland for example we have many facilitates created by Soviet Union heck they even build a secret city for their soldiers resident in Poland at the time of communist regime
@@piotrzandecki953Chernobyl is the zone because as far as I can tell they were the main covert operation concerning noosphere research in the Soviet Union. As far as black sites go Chernobyl is perfect because nobody wants to go there in the first place due to the radiation and the amount of pre-incident infrastructure would allow an easy move in. It is worth noting there is a very real possibility that Chernobyl was built specifically to fuel the experiments with the meltdown being a purposeful event to create a no-go zone.
@@piotrzandecki953would like to point out that it doesn't rule out a polish zone but if I had to guess they are gonna use the OG zones from roadside picknick
@@jonkirby5245 i agree with that after all Chernobyl Indtituetee in the game looks like the institute from the Stugracki brothers novel
So your goverment don't pay damage for your home destruction Because of "secret experiments" - Let's make own "secret experiment". Skiff- i am are scientist myself...
That mf stared right into Skif's eyes while he was astrally projecting to tell him that, dude's been connected to the Zone the whole time.
Best "join freedom" I had seen so far.
It was leaked that Project Y - this ending, is the most probable candidate to be the true ending of the game. It opens a path for a future stalker games outside Chernobyl Zone, since there either zones all over the world now, or the entire world is the zone. Just as Kaimanov said - it is either a greatest evolutionary step for humanity, or the worst apocalyptic event ever. The free will is the gift of the Zone, and Zone is now also free and is for all, everything that happens next depends on mankind, for each single individual sees the zone in his own unique way.
Except I can't see how this would fit into this series's particular atmosphere.
If GSC were to expand the scope of Stalker universe, they would have to establish how these changes would affect regular citizens, women en-masse (who are either not present in previous games, or only few of them are present in Stalker 2) and children.
This would not make sense because it'll turn unique Stalker atmosphere into generic post-apocalyptic game.
Ukrainian setting of Chernobyl Anonalyous Zone and Stalkers, people who deliberately enter said Zone, are just part of the brand.
You strip that away, and you'll end up with an empty shell.
Might seem cool on paper but that in execution as a game would slaughter Stalker's unique atmosphere, deep historically inspired lore and its slavic charm. Running around America / London / Wherever?
That would be so bland in comparison.
@@Maestro7228I recommend looking into roadside picnic, it's the book that stalker is loosely based off of. In the book there are multiple zones and there are major mutations and illnesses that come from being near them. The book is alien tech instead of the noosphere and c-con but it does a pretty good job of showing what a worldwide catastrophe might look like in stalker.
they shoul've added an ending where you destroy the pod and the zone remains the same
Would've been the "Good ending" all the other endings involve getting gas lit by someone and have severe consequences for the zone.
Where as the player I wish we could prevent other factions from taking advantage of the zones power and just let it be the zone.
@thegreatid3595 nah it would be neutral ending
I wish it true and we just haven't discovered the sequence of events to unlock the real true ending, like it was in the 1st game. Destroy meanings of control over the generators and Zone, destroy last pod and seal the generators forever with us prisoned there alone trying to survive this isolated part of the Zone. And then, the Zone remains the same and slowly evolves and turns into a harmony with local nature, like in Garbage, when Richter mentiones crows started nesting on the redioactive piles of garbage... Free Zone, place of slumber, wounders and no control from any sick mind produced by CC (agents, monolithiants, mutants, former members and hidden supporters from the Mainland).
All 4 current endings look like one worse than another, like we are just someone's puppet. Probably only Strelok's one is the most neutral one - he turns the Zone into place similar to the Zone he tried to destroy years ago, so returned the Zone to it's initial state.
You can only wish. Right now the best fate for the zone is the spark ending, for it to be as pure as possible
developers want to spread the zone worldwide for future sequels to get western gamers to get more involved
This is no doubt the canon ending, zone is free no strelok no korshunov no scar and no skiff
Nope, GSC confirmed that one of the DLCs planned will continue right after one of the endings akin to Broken Steel in Fallout 3. Only Strelok ending fits that.
@@purple_1884 unless you continue as another character like in red dead redemption.. also can you share the source about this DLC info i would love to read about that
@@BarManFesteiro Look up leaked map from a year ago. Limansk, Cold Island (north of SIRCAA) and North Prypiat are marked as DLC areas
@@purple_1884 Maybe the events of the add-ons will take place in parallel with the adventures of Scyth and explain certain parts of the plot from a different perspective. I highly doubt that the add-ons will continue after the end of the game. Serious scale.
@stalkergameworld it's literally confirmed by GSC themselves
The song that plays during this is an absolute banger
Neat. Can't wait for any future games to absolutely ignore that ending so they can keep focus on Chernobyl.
in all stalkers games protagonists endings are always canon, besides, all the other endings dont leave so much space as "zone all around the world" one
You kinda need it set there though.
The "Zone" like Mutants, radiation are due to experimentation and the disaster. A stalker game based in another part of the world would just have anomalies nothing else.
Probably they’ll go the fallout route and have the spin off games take place in other countries and zones while the main series focuses on the original zone
@@thegreatid3595spin offs could be cool but yeah the main games needs to stay In Ukraine
I believe the scene with Faust is the "subtle world" he mentioned so the next game could take place in Chernobyl but in this subtle world
Anomolous activity starting in Florida in the US is peak comedy. Would anyone even notice? 😂
he's over encumbered, of course it's the true ending.
7:25 listen closely for the crows,im getting PTSD from stalker gamma
I think there is something going on here. The 3 other people who enter the pot seem to need help with closing the pod but skif uses a button that's in the pod to close it and run the experiment.
Maybe the others needed someone else to flip the switch for them. Maybe out of fear or dought.
Skif fully embraces becoming part of the noosphere. Then releases the zone. I guess this was the doctor meant by embracing freedom. Which is why the song is called set mode embrace. Skif is embracing true freedom.
Freaky part is (again) Faust can see vs being blind. Then you have how he'd already met the dead Strider before in a different pod setting so ... What is real and what isn't with that ending?
Просто неймовірний фінал і пісня, що грає під кінець - просто топ!
This ending is the only appropriate to be Canon.
We have Journalist questline, where the last message talks about MANY other more generators around the world and getting threatened if he talks about that.
We have Skif, who came into the zone to get answers as to why anomaly broke into his house. Not "just for the house" alone.
Zone is a secretive place and "Bigger Earth" never knew what happens there (due to aforementioned Project X sh%tting generators all around the world).
So what we get here is many more "Skifs" - uncontrollable, "truly free" people coming in to the Zone.
And Zone coming in to them.
P.s. I'm sorry, I couldn't not do the "Coming into them" joke.
Free the Zone, free humanity. Worthless social constructs are abandoned. People's true selves are laid bare. In struggle, we are tested. In the Zone, we are free.
I would love true ending be same as in SOC)) When you just finish what Strelok started there and destroy the last pod too lol
i was like hell nah its my pod so i got this ending
If skif's ending is canon stalker 3 going to be INSANE
This ending will eventually become canonical: in the “leaked” documents on the game, the developers just discussed this ending as the main/canonical one.
@revren9050 damn that's crazy. I guess it does make sense for it to be canon, otherwise skif becomes a pointless character.
Worldwide zone opens up endless possibilities for the future of the franchise. A bit overwhelming actually
@@paracetamolicecream Or they could make evolve the narration to a
the point where the Chernobyl zone still is THE Zone that influences all the new one. In this way, the focus will be kept on this one 🤔
@995FROST if stalker 3 will ever be a thing I imagine we will be playing as another character who will go into the og zone to kill Skif to take his place in the pod to fix the world and end all the new zones skif made.
In the year 2050, at best.
So does this mean Faust is alive or is it just a hallucination?
Maybe that was Faust psy trace in the noosphere
It was Faust's subtle matter, Skiff have a connection to the Psy Field surrounding Earth in this ending, so therefore it takes not much of an effort for Faust to reach out to Skiff
Given special abilities of the Faust - he's alive and just dropped his illusion he used to trick Skif into this venture that turned entire Earth into Zone with lot's of noosphere breaches around it. So the Skif ending == dream of the Faust that come true.
It is Faust. Look at the gloves, same stitching and the right thumb is worn at the end the same, the gloves go from brown to black. Remember Faust was a controller, able to affect the minds of people. He just appeared as the Doctor to guide Skiff. Faust is imho, the best character in the game. He could have ended Skiff easy, was the only to show the truth of the zone and to finally understand it.
@@Elder-Drakeit is him, but not a physical one. The monolith preacher was blind, this one has eyes, just like in subtle mater. IMO Zone is using his and doctor's disguise as those were few people that actually cared for it...
As much as I would love for this to be the canon ending, I know the devs have to keep the zone as one place on the planet, so it's either scar or strelok ending that will be canon.
Nothing in this ending confirms or really implies that multiple zones are opened worldwide. The blinking lights appearing are just anomalies, like the one that appear in skifs apartment. This ending isn't an ending, but a flashback, to the second carribean experiment.
@@bluebeatz8626 that would make sense, skiff realizes who the doctor really is, and then theres gonna be a DLC ending where he gets out of the pod and theres some long annoying storying about finding faust and getting a psi emitter for yourself and so on
This is the first ending i got i kept working with peeps than i realized screaw them and set the zone free
Enter ze pod, Skif! Eat ze bugs!
I just beat the game for my first playthrough. I got it day one, but I’ve been taking my time exploring and picking up side quests. It was an amazing experience. I went with Strelok, but damn every ending is some flavor of awful. I think Strelok is the best ending and I’ve gone ahead and seen all the other endings. I’m really curious to see what they go with for canon, because I really want to franchise to succeed and continue on.
Skif gave us possibility for Stalker 3 which is way harder with other endings
what a game i ust finished it with this ending and came to read comments, game ran flawless on my 3080ti and 7800x3d which is not god tier hardware so not sure why so many people we complaining, its a modern game it needs modern hardware.
logged about 100 hours on my one and only playthrough hopefully DLC with a new Story and regions drops.
It's cool to see how equally fucked all the endings are, it's tough to discuss good or bad endings here
I think strelok ending is the true one. It gives room for skif in a DLC
Stalker 2 true ending: Zone crashes.
This ending will allow lot more freedom for future story development. No longer are they restraint to Chornobyl.
Then no longer is it STALKER. Who is interested in...what? New York with anomalies? Then it's just generic global disaster scifi slop
Soundtrack?
Stalker 2 ost embrace
Maybe in the next stalker in the future if we're still able to as skif or Faust
I dont get it, the doctor was somehow Faust all along?
What a canon end .. skif the Hero 😂😂😂 was decived by Dr. Faust .. decived by the Devil 👿 himself .. and surprisingly I see who come and tell us it is a CANON END hahahahaaa .. I'm 100% with Strelok and I thanks God that I choose the right pass and let Strelok control the Zone
Were you even paying attention? I cannot imagine finishing the game with this conclusion.
@bluebeatz8626 young Stalker .. I am Strelok .. we are one .. The legend of the Zone ... man .. we are waiting 17 years to do what we have to do .. to let him control the Zone. He gave the Zone his life .. and I gave Stalker as a game many years of my life. This is my point of view
honestly it makes no sense, its like skif was faust the whole time or something. if strelok can wall off the zone then why wouldn't skiff be able to control it too?
@@killsalot78 What would skif DO with the zone? Did you do this ending? did you pay attention to the plot at all?? sure it makes no sense, if you turn volume and subtitles off and decide to just rush everything..
Hopefully todd howard learns from this for fallout 5
I'm not sure this ending makes sense as a "canon ending" from Skif's perspective. He came into the zone to earn money to buy himself a new home. He has no deeper attachment to the zone. I don't see why he suddenly would sacrifice himself like that and the few cutscenes specific to this ending don't give enough material to justify such a motivation. Also, the ending is actually insane because he could potentially ruin the entire planet with anomalies since he doesn't know what will happen once he unleashes the zone. Such actions would better be suited to a crazed character like Scar.
Yeah, thats the issue. Problem is, he doesnt want to side with the Ward either. But in the end, he goes back and gets a new home.
Game def needs a fifth ending to destroy the pods an leave the zone alone
still think the strelok ending is the good one, if this is the true ending then they can expand the series to other regions.
For the game, Skiff's ending is awesome. For the franchise Strelok. What music is that that plays as he enters? Anyone know?
It should be "_Set_Mode --EMBRACE" from the official OST
I see it as a mind twisting "bad" ending bcs of the reveal of faust and multiple zones appearing. What an incredible ending, i didnt saw that
@@ismaelapellido2666 It's not multiple zones appearing
I really hope this isn't the true ending they're going for.
A global zone stalker game would lose so much of its rich and unique Ukrainian identity and seem so much less special compared to other games.
Mutants running down the streets of Paris? Dodging anomalies in a big metro subway station? The looming shadow of the post-soviet grasp and its subsequent aesthetics all wiped away? American Stalker? Yuck.
Part of what makes Stalker so special is its deep, regionally specific lore that asks for a higher price of entry beyond just logging in for cheap, action movie thrills.
Ok? Did skif die or what?
Once he acquired control over the Zone at least for a moment - he becomes immortal counciousness in the noosphere, but his body likely stuck in the pod forever.
@@AlexAnder-dh8qz he's not stuck there, have you ever seen the ending of shadow of chernobyl where strelok enters the pod assisted by C consciousness who comes out of the pod.
and also the strelok ending in stalker 2 can talk on the radio and can see the situation when skif is held at gunpoint by granite troops.
that means they can get out of there
W name
@@CathernaaBS. In SoC we don't see who assists Strelok when he enters the pod. Could as well e anyone, including monolith, instructed by c-con.
In Strelok ending he, as anyone else, becomes one with the zone and therefore gains control of the monolith forces. Zone was controlling them from Signal to defend itself. Strelok is not physically speaking in the radio, he is just able to transmit his thoughts throughout the zone, again, because he became one with it. BTW that's a bad ending.
@@rosgoncharuk2403 really monolith ? wearing scientist coat?
What is the song ?
Stalker 2 ost Embrace
Goddamn Faust…
Why is he doing that
IN a way it's immortality
Its power its controll but most importantly the zone is his home in this ending so he becomes one with the zone.
He’s want his new apartment
Skif doesn't want to exploit the zone, he wants the zone to be free and let it choose what it wants to do next. So the zone expanded. The other 3 commenters need to watch the cutscenes with Faust and Guide to understand why Skif chose this.
Its why the narrator even says perhaps its time to let her choose her own destiny.
Is he stupid?
What song is this?
Melovin. Ukrainian singer.❤
In the beginning? It's called "End Titles" from STALKER 2 OST
It's called Embrace
@ Thanks)
This ending doesn't fit skiff character
But it's also the ending that's the most open ended in the game
How so? Have ever came into something with one mindset but left with another?
He was lost in civil life, this was an adventure he was deeply looking for. He came for answers, but with all the events and information came to understanding the zone. This is character development.
of course it does. Skif is an agent. A sort of jack ryan from bioshock, unconsciously guided into the zone to free it. The many lights appearing aren't zones opening worldwide, by the way.
SO Duty was right all along, Zone expanded and killd the whole world.
Not that I want to side with Duty but fundamentally there 100 percent right I don't really see the value of the ZONE.
The number 1 export is Corpse's and monsters. And from the little I understand the Artifacts can't even be used outside the zone and all experiments you can run only function in the zone and even when they work you need it in your possession and said artifact will most likely have some kind of monkey's paw effect. So I genuinely don't understand why people come to it. The game says people come to the zone to get rich getting artifacts but it looks like no one lives long enough to actually have that happen. And anything you bring out becomes useless. There's the wish granter sure but not every STALKER was after it. And again the success rate has technically been 0 to the point I don't even get how that myth was still going.
The Zone is the equivalent of actively wanting to die violently in a horror scenario.
@@calamityhex3729@calamityhex3729 In the book it's inspired by (Roadside Picnic), there are zones all over the world (from aliens that were basically godlike and used Earth as a rest-stop, leaving behind insane physics breaking objects that were the equivalent of trash/empty batteries to them). The scientists greatly advance technology as a result by gaining much better understanding of physics/copying certain items (e.g. battery artifacts lead to development of insanely compact and efficient power sources). In the book, leads to keychain sized objects powering rich people's electric cars. Most of the world outside the zone adapts fine, besides children of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S being mutated, former zone residents reanimating.
I feel like the same could be applied in STALKER if the zones stay static, though it's not mentioned so much in lore, it would lead to better understanding of medicine (healing artifacts/stamina), radiation cleaning/insulation. Not to mention the zones existence would lead to creation of better protective materials for suits, exoskeletons, medication etc in the same way war leads to massive tech advancements, especially in medicine.
Then of course the weapons potential is huge. Gauss gun was originally scrapped in lore due to power sauce limitations - just like real life we don't have compact enough power sources. Using flash fragments allowed for it to work. IRL railguns are being developed would be absurdly effective if they didn't require an entire naval ship built around them for power.
But really the external interest is due to its potential, especially since there is so much unknown, and our technology would have to level up to be able to study/contain artifacts properly.
@@calamityhex3729 I guess that's what this ending, and the entire game's premise is supposed to represent, since artifacts are nearly useless because of its limited effects outside of the Zone, they chose to show us a glimpse of what it looks like if it expands worldwide.
the Zone's influence affecting the world now means the C-Consciousness' original plan to harness the Noosphere and control people's minds would've worked if they didn't screw up their first experiment, something like what Scar did but at a global scale, without the Anomalies, mutants and no mass extinction event.
@@calamityhex3729 The story plot of Stalker 2 is like Liberalism... Spouting freedom but also spouting control.
@archpenn7842 I'm nowhere near as a lore fan of the franchise, but my understanding was that the doctor wanted to stop his colleagues and representatives abusing noosphere for selfish and harmful intents in the first place so maybe that's why he shot the device and freed the energy, causing the zone.
But eventually he wants it to expand to the globe so maybe the noosphere can re-merge with geosphere and biosphere slowly by itself, like mother nature heals herself through time, fixing the disruption and damage caused human.
I can be completely wrong. But whatever the truth is, the doctor's/skif's ending is way more complicated and deep than what I thought.
