If I register my song in Songtrust, shouldn't I register it in ASCAP? Should only be one?
ascap/bmi are performance royalties organisations , songtrust is a publishing administrator , of course you have to register to a pro (ascap or bmi etc... depends what country you live in) , so they collect the performance royalties , BUT there is other royalties they DONT collect this royalty called "MECHANICALS" (streaming , micro sync youtube etc....) thats why you need a publishing admin to collect all these royalties and songtrust have tools to do this work , its a complicated and long work to collect all these mechnicals from all over the world so when you sign with songtrust they they take a percentage i think its 15% on what they collect and pay you the rest, BUT you keep 100% of your publishing and this is the most important thing , you are not signin your life to a label or a pub deal

with any of these collection societies, you'd only want to register finished songs over your beats... unless you're releasing instrumental albums and songs like lofi

But Kato, outside the U.S., don't those societies lump performance and mechanicals together? So, when, say for instance, ASCAP collects your international royalties, aren't you, in fact, getting your foreign mechanicals?

Yes. It doesn't matter what your distribution company is, you should ideally sign up to a publishing admin company too (which is what songtrust is). CD Baby also has their own publishing admin arm, which you've probably heard of - it's called CD Baby Pro.

songtrust is different from BMI or ASCAP. ideally, you need both, but most ppl think u just need BMI or ASCAP.

True. I'm signed up to all. PRS and PPL (I'm in the UK), Songtrust, and Audiam. And I distribute with TuneCore. It helps too to have a spreadsheet that reminds you to do this for every song. It's the boring stuff but it pays.
So when I sold a beat to a artist then do this registration not before right ?
register the songs right after they're released by you or the artist.
