I’ve heard disgusting comments like that about me and my daughters hair (whom is 3 years old) from my own family members. It’s nothing but self hate. Just because they’re not comfortable with their hair and the skin they’re in they want to reflect their own insecurities on you! I swear some black people are so brainwashed it’s truly sad to see. We have the most powerful yet delicate hair in the world, our coily hair is a connection to God. That’s why it’s so important to know yourself. You and your daughter are absolutely gorgeous! Don’t ever let a miserable lowlife make you feel otherwise.

Despite what MANY think, we have been using wigs and weaves for centuries before being colonized. The sad part is that for an industry worth billions and supported predominantly by melanin women, our people own next to nothing in it; that's a travesty and not teaching generational wealth. Overall though we have always been expressionists through our hair and its styling. This is no different. Now i would understand if the mama was on here bad mouthing their hair or saying self-abusive words but nothing in her words said anything about using that hair to hide her daughter's beauty. I have always had a preference for textured/afro hair. I never felt comfortable with straight flat hair. Some type of curl is needed.

My daughter hair was course and coily until she was about 2. I would just wash it and it keep it moisturized on the same schedule as my own hair. I'd put it in puff balls and once it was longer I'd just twist the ponytails. And I kid you not, as a 3 year old turning 4 soon it's literally down her back. Longer than mine and all the grown people that talked badly about it before, so keep doing what you're doing because people just love having something to say.
