Nobody ever seems to mention that climate change is normal and that there is zero evidence that man has contributed to climate change in any way. For example prior to the French Revolution there was a period of global cooling. Eventually it got cold enough to freeze the wheat in northern France before it could be harvested. The price of bread skyrocketed and famine ensued which sparked the French Revolution. Afterward there was another period of global warming also not caused by man. We just finished a cycle of global cooling in the 1970s, it's going to get warmer again regardless of anything that man does....

I totally could throw one on my back and ride my bike to Kraft Avenue or Art Hill (not sure which one is a taller hill but Kraft seems like a mountain) and sled down those hills. There have been some budget cuts since the 2013 blizzard so there will be plenty of snow on Kraft if I go sledding.

OK: tip from someone who has been driving in the Alps in winter: 1.) ice or freezing rain: without snow chains you have no change. Don't drive your car. Stay at home 2.) Normal snow: winter tires are a must. With summer tires you don't stand a chance. And go SLOW and NOT downhill! And take into account that your stopping distance can easily be two to three times longer. If this is combined with reduced sight distance due to snowfall or fog: SLOW down. On a highway 15mph can be to fast 3.) take into account that there can be suddenly spots with much reduced friction. Drive defensively. Expect something bad behind that curve or that little hill, you can't see yet.
@Blank Account But I don’t want Key West to go underwater, I love Key West. I don’t want to drill for oil but I do want to activate the Caribbean and North American plates to create some new terrain around the Bahamas and into South America. Say it with me “Lake Mexico” it sounds silly and like a work of science fiction but it’s possible. Not probable and that’s why South Florida will end up underwater
@Blank Account Funny how you use something on the scale of millions of years, yet you act like tens of feet of water level rise could even happen during our lifetime.
@Blank Account for someone telling people to learn history, you don’t even understand science. We are able to measure and predict seismic activity underground. We have seen a direct correlation between eight states that drill on Federal Land and an increase in seismic activity in those areas. We also know that earthquakes can cause new landmasses to develop as mountains forms, valleys are made and we also know that in the Gulf of Mexico there are at least three different fault lines including the Caribbean fault line that extends to the San Andreas fault line. It’s a science no one wants to experiment on because the consequences of doing it wrong could lead to one of the plates sinking into a subduction zone, potentially drowning millions. It’s not practical but probable and could happen in the course of a few million years.

thats the way the 100,000 year glaciation period begins after the 10,000 year warm period is over. every 100,000 years there is a warm period of 10,000 years like the warm period that is ending now. we have been in a warm period over 10,000 years already. the left lies to us , they dont want us to be prepared. Is anyone here old enough to have observed the eleven and twenty-two year cycles as well? I'm 71, and I recall colder years and years with more snow. Lowest temperature I ever had to deal with was -27F by our house thermometer in January 1971. This was in southeast Wisconsin despite the lake effect. I recall years with much more snow as well. I also understand that the planet has been warming since the last ice age. I'm sure human activity has an effect, but much of what we are told comes from computer modrls that are only as good as the programmers snd the data. In my lifetime scoence has gone from predicting another ice age to a runaway greenhouse and back again.
I live in southern California so I've never seen snow come down from the sky. I think about 6 years ago I saw it hail for like 10 minutes straight. I hope that those of you in other states that are facing rough conditions stay safe.
I mean if your city government cares about its roads there's not much of an issue. Here in St. Louis they at least have the busy roads and highways cleared. When I ride my bike in the snow, it only affects me when the road clearers used the bicycle gutter as a shoulder or on Kingshighway Boulevard where my 2 choices are super fast and dense traffic and an uncleared sidewalk. It's pretty annoying. That street must be called Kingshighway because it's about as bike and pedestrian friendly as a highway

So funny how the MSM loves to always paint a dreary picture. Reminds of Henley's "Dirty Laundry" song. So many of us up north deal with much worse ALL the time digging out and buttoning up.
So funny how perspective alters reality. It might be time to step outside of your bubble and stop blaming MSM for bringing your attention to things that you want to ignore because they don’t match your limited world view. This storm may not be a big deal to you, but it is a big deal for most of the country. Yes, storms like this do happen in the north but I wouldn’t say we “deal with much worse all the time”. I live in the Great Lakes region, in one of the snowiest cities in the country. This is still a once or twice a year type of snowfall. With a second storm right behind it, this is more like a once in 3-5 years type of occurrence. Power outages that last several days during extremely cold are extremely dangerous, even in the north. Most of the country is getting this storm too, but for most of the country, this type of weather is extremely rare. We are equipped to handle it in the north but most cities are not because it just doesn’t happen there. People have already died from this storm and more will likely die from this.
True, I am from Pennsylvania and understand how you are thinking, but you need to also realize that because you deal with this year after year, you are prepared for it. The southern states don't get this weather every 100 years and the don't have snow plows or salt or even ashes to put on the roads. Everything literally shuts down with just 1 inch of snow.
A big difference is that some people are just not used to this type of weather. They are not personally equipped with shovels and ice scrapers and such, nor are the cities and counties prepared with the greater amount of snow removal equipment that’s required. i’ve lived in snow and ice all my life. Not a fan, but I am used to it.

And predictably lots of people show up to demonstrate that they don't know the difference between weather and climate ...
Republicans LOVE the Uneducated.
🤣🤣🤣
Isn't that the truth, and now way to school simple minds.
@@makeracistsafraidagain Whereas Democrats positively adore them. A firm knowlege of the natural history of this planet will give you some perspective on the changing climate. Just tell it to the former inhabitants of Doggerland, which now lies under the North Sea, without the first carbon atom of fossil fuels being burned. They don't teach that in schools anymore, if they ever did.

@Blank Account LOL underwater...heard that 20 years ago....still waiting....
