While redeeming Durge is one of my favourite storylines, sometimes it’s just a little fun to slip into old habits when someone particularly arrogant, vile or aggravating touches the wrong nerve. That said, Stupid Evil/Murderhobo isn’t usually something I find fun.
You can be evil durge without being stupid tho - you kill strategic people in strategic points, and control yourself when it's against your best interest. Easy. Even certain stupid stuff like taking Gale's hand can be excused with "you're amnesiac so you didn't know your fantasies very quickly become reality if you let them".
redeeming durge is just a little too cliche for me. It's a trope done all the time now. So often in media that just a true evil murderhobo is far rarer and imo more interesting.
@@RilfDanielson I agree that redemption arcs CAN be cliché, but in this specific game you get to choose. That's why it's not cliché at all - the game acknowledges it could go either way, depending on the player. Imo the best way to play this game is not to treat it like a story you're watching, but try to actually get into the mind of the character you are playing, and BE them for a bit. When you do that, nothing is cliché really, it's all just choices you make.
well if you go murderhobo then you are not different than Orin. Dark Urge is more political and efficient with his mission while Orin like to toying and playing around. thats why Gortash like you more than Orin
I really wish your Companions had something to say about what Kressa did to you. Like this lady opened up your organs over and over and kept you as a lashing thrall and no one says anything?
That was my main gripe with this game in terms of companions. Like the scene where Bhaal kills you if you reject him after killing Orin, none of your companions say anything. Not even a cry or a “No!” From whomever you romanced, like the Well of Sorrows scene in Dragon Age Inquisition. Not to mention you literally tell everyone you have murderous compulsions but they all dismiss them and are shocked when you act on them. I literally told you this would happen.
I'm appalled at the squad you have left over once all the durge (evil) choices have been made. Gale doesn't exist anymore, Karlach is just a head, Halsin died a prison bitch, Wyll straight up ghosted you, and Minthara...oh my beloved Minthara. She would've been the only exception to let live, but Royalty is the one calling the shots.
People like to do mental gymnastics to make Act 2 longer. Instead of just saying it's short lol. It's real hard for people to critique this game. I got bored of it on the second playthrough.
Bit late, but créche is Act 2. It clearly tells you to finish business in the previous area pre entering the mountain pass, just like venturing from underdark/grymforge to shadow cursed lands and most unfinished quests in act 1 fail upon leaving. As you can still travel back and forth between mountain pass and shadow cursed lands (until reaching the shadow fell) without impact on quests on one side or the other, it's considered the same act.
@@cn_nightingale creche and underdark are both act 1. The prompt you're talking about when you enter the mountain pass tells you you're underleveled. You dont get the other prompt till you move to the shadowfell either through the mountain pass or the underdark
@@fenixchief7 underdark/grymforge is 1, creche isnt. Don't quest in the first areas, enter mountain pass and see for yourself, tieflings dead, hag got the child, no doggo/bear for camp and so on. Entering the mountain pass considers nearly everything previous either failed or completed, i had to reload about six hours of gameplay after i went back to the suddenly empty grove. Edit: also you don't get another warning when you enter shadowlands through mountains or forge.
@@cn_nightingale I don't know about that. Going into Shadowlands forces a camp scenario first. Unlike Creche. Going into Act 3 also forces a camp scenario as the story line progresses. You can do plenty of things in Act 3 where quests will fail even though you're not moving to another Act so don't think that's enough to consider it. The forced camp, to me, serves as the marker into the next Act. You can also completely skip Creche going into the Shadowlands which, again, makes me feel it's not Act 2.
Me who got pick pocket and then followed the teflings in to his lair only for him to tell on me with the gaurds I decided to spawn in the spectator and raid the grove
Okay, I missed most things again. I got through so well and quickly that I was able to get straight to the temple and free Ayln. I actually wanted to kill her with the spear but Shadowheart was in the camp and I couldn't go back. So I had to free her because the spear didn't work. I didn't even take a long rest in act 2. Terrible and that on tacticians
7:58 It’s strange, but I had the same scene as Tav’s, when Marcus flies onto the balcony with wings, but here it looks like he was in the Last Light Inn all this time.
4:07 I love the line when meeting He Who Was, it has some major “Mr. Evrart is helping me find my gun” (Disco Elysium) energy to it, the idea of having a thought or statement so intoxicating it sends someone into an actual loop is fascinating to see
Is the name “Isobel” a homage to Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, also by Larian? It’s the name of your first mentor in that game, the one who teaches you how to mindread. If this is an intentional reference in Baldur’s Gate 3, I hope more people will check out the Dragon Knight Saga, because that game is criminally underrated.

There is also another interaction with a cat outside Moonrise that recognizes you
Yeah - I selected the option to recall where we’d met before, killed the cat, broke my Oath of Vengeance.
Welp.

Your companions say something when you are tortured by Abdirak in the goblin camp in Act 1. Shadowheart and Astarion in particular enjoy it
"who would be dumb enough to try to enslave an elder brain,? Dak Urge "seemed like a good idea when Enver Gasturd suggested it my bad "
Thank you for taking the time to record all these. Super helpful and fun to see
Missed a couple. Poor Steelclaw, the greeting upon entering Moonrise and, of course, the killing of the lover and subsequent total party wipe
I love how when he is torturing the Ox, Astarion in the background is like:
"I've lived 200 years and this is even a little fucked for me."
AHHH! GO BACK TO SLAYER GO BACK TO SLAYER CHANGE BACK OH MY GOD!!!

GOD DAMN IT
I've completely missed He Who Was. How many stuff this game has?!
a lot, he gives you a pair of gloves that summon a raven named quothe, he can attack twice per turn which is really nice
Good news is that the scene shown with He Who Was isn't exclusive to Dark Urge. You can make him stab himself with a Custom too.
@@ravage020200 That is nice to know. Yet still.
I will pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones.
Durge is so hot and deliciously evil I wish he were a companion if you picked another origin
"you dare mock me as I bleed to death?"
*smile*
Frrr, maybe someone will do like a custom companion mod for them or something. No voicelines but it'd still be fun.
I think he still exists if you don't choose him. Orin kills him and puts him next to her bed.
I’m pretty sure the narrator is merely reading Cannibal Corpse lyrics at this point.

Why does the dragons head changes when he turns back from the slayer?
Yeah I noticed that too, it changed his look to another dragonborn preset. Recorded it close to launch so its probably patched by now
My female githyanki changed her hairstyle and grew a third leg😅
yeah they patched it@@RoyaltyFreeName
It's still bugged. My human character reset to the default preset.
😳 Ooooooh, Kressa Bonedaughter....Damn. I'm sorry Astarion but I think I'm in love.

Isnt underdark and mountain pass act 1?
23:00 does she have prosthetic arms or did i just notice that she is actually armless?
these clips are from the first week of game release so probably just bugged and didn't show arm textures properly
Is there a vid of the third act yet?
Guys someone knows the title of the soundtrack at 12:42? I cannot find it

Who’s the character at 4:42? Never met them

Act 3 when?
Many scenes are not dark urge scenes, so you don't have to play Dark urge to get them...
Where is the second clip from?
Its actually from underdark so act1, used to think underdark and mountain pass were part of act2
15:23 and 15:50 💀
How to getthat armour and sword
The burning sword you have to get from the commander on the ship when you start the game. The armor has to be crafted at the adamantine forge.
