This building is also shown on Transient Places website. I guess this was a big IBM facility in the 1990s, nice building such a shame to let it go to waste
Yes, Thinkpads were initially made at IBM Greenock which was also the development centre for the product. I recall that part of this responsibility involved construction of a sound testing facility, part of which was built underground to allow isolation from external noises / interference.
nice one, I know it was a massive place and the video was already becoming some length but let us see some of the bits inside like what was wrote on the white board, was there things left inside any of the drawers...not just a pan around the rooms. Keep it up 👍
it is a very big place, we never even got round half of it.... highlight of the day was when Barry fell,,, don't believe him when he says i pushed him hahaha, it's usually me that falls just a pity my camera wasn't on at the time pmsl.
Not sure how long its been empty . I have been told by one of the Old Security men that more of it has been demolished .Will have to take run over and see its condition now

I worked there in 1990 and again in 1991. Happy times. Sad to see it like that now.
2:50 Can that be that this was the factory for older IBM thinkpads in Europe? Some thinkpad A31ps still have "Made in Scotland" on the bottom written.
