  • A car cut me off on my 2021 Goldwing Tour today. I was heading to work and was explaining why I never take my bike to work. Then it happened.

    Practice finger placement of where the Horn is. I’ve heard this confusion before. Practice is something many riders do not sufficiently invest time into. Whether it’s Slow speed and then add some muscle memory practice of where the Horn and Directional buttons placement are. It works.
    Next, consider investing and adding exterior illumination from high lumen Gold Strike or Pathfinder LED lighting kits. To be seen! Gold Strike uses a proprietary Plug-n Play system that are sealed for clean installation and weather proofing. All connected to a Fuse Block to prevent shortages and throwing codes. I added the Heli-Bar handlebar risers on my 22 DCT Tour. Absolutely love them. Adds just enough rise and forward lean to make the difference. I also installed a Show Chrome back-rest. Has an angular shape like the Gold Wings. Compared with other backrests which are square backed. Besides the support, a backrest positioned properly will keep keep you squarely planted upright in the middle of the saddle. Not slouching and inching back. Ride safe and often.

      Thanks for all the great ideas. Since I made this video I have been practicing finding the horn button. I have talked to many people that have issues with that darn button as well. I think the shape should be changed so it can be located easier. Thanks for your support. Ride safe out there.

      So sorry, I just noticed that I never commented back. Some times I see comments on my phone but when I get home and check the computer, they are gone into never, never land. Times like this, I stumble across them. Where did you get your Trike? Was it in Sarnia? Hope the rest of your week is fantastic.

    Thanks for sharing the ride to work I never took my bike to work much over the years most times I was gone for a week and did want the bike setting in the dust if I had a day trip sometimes I would take it but probably a half dozen times over the years take care be safe

      Hey Tom, thanks for checking out the video. I hear what you are saying and would never leave my bike at work for days sitting in the dust either. There has only been about 5 or 6 times that I even took my bike to work. Several years ago I had an 800cc Suzuki that I rode to work. At one point during the day, a coworker told me I had better check on my bike. There was a guy sitting on it. That never ended well! Enjoy your day my friend.

      @@goldwingmoments wow was it someone who worked with you or just someone from the shop I say that because I saw the international sign and I thought I heard you say you was a diesel mechanic or maybe I am way off the mark wouldn’t be the first time lol we are getting some hot weather here for the next few days up in the 30ths. We have a big east coast international shop in moncton when you are on your way to NFLD you are almost in there back yard okay buddy have a great day

      @@tomfillmore9710 , you are correct my friend. I am a Diesel Mechanic and the guy who was on my bike was just a random person that was visiting our garage for some reason. I had no ides who the guy was. Before covid, I had a job offer at East Coast International in Truro, NS. I think they are all the same owner. Due to everything going on at the time, I decided not to take the job. They have since built a couple of new shops. Enjoy your day my friend. PS: it's hotter than hell here as well.

      just opened a new shop in PEI last year .one of our drivers / dispatcher went to East Coast and now he is parts manager in moncton I had 5 International’s while I was driving 79 s line and then a 85 then in 92 got a kenworth 97 a international with the high bunk and in 2000 and 2007 and they had 72 inch high rise home away from home for me they all had Detroits except the the 2007 it had a Cummins and then Seaboard bought us out and after that was all pretty much Kenworths I never owned any of them all company trucks I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer put smart enough not to own one especially now don’t know how you would ever pay for it sorry for the big story but a old retired truck driver likes to talk and tell lies lol take care buddy stay cool have a great night

      @@tomfillmore9710 , great comment my friend and I enjoyed the read. Your driving story brings back lots of memories of older trucks and different times. All comments welcome and no story is to long. My work is about 99% Cummins and it has been that way for the last 30 years. I remember when there was only talk of electronic engines and we would question each other about how that was even possible. Here we are today and I use a laptop every day. 64 this year so the end is in sight. Then I can ride bike, create videos and sell my tools. lol. Enjoy the rest of your week.

      Thanks JP. Close calls are always scary and I know you had a few as well. Never fun. I hate that horn button. Every time I go out for a ride now I actually practice hitting the horn. With gloves on, I can't seem to hit the button at all. It sucks !! Ride safe my friend.

      That’s an interesting statement. If you’re a Motorcyclist you know that. This isn’t like sitting on the couch. You are always present of mind. Proactive and assessing.

    • @peaceful.pathways
      @peaceful.pathways 2 года назад +1

      @@roadglide What do you find interesting about the statement? Do you not think you can have presents of mind and be proactive while having a relaxing motorcycle ride? Relaxation does not equal absentmindness. Almost all high level athletes know the importance being relaxed and not tense during activity because it increases your reaction time and ability to adapt quickly. Relaxation doesn't necessarily equal being unaware and half out of it on a couch. A high level athlete performs well exactly because they have learned to relax and be proficient. So you can have a relaxing ride, this does not mean your presents of mind or readiness is diminished in any way.
