Californians voted yes for that law back in 2014, it had nothing to do with Gavin Newsom since he wasn't in charge of the state at that time. He might not be without reproach, but you can't blame all the ills of California on him. Californians themselves do have a hand in all the bad things that are happening in their state, with all the permissive laws they've been passing over the years. You can't send a criminal to jail if the law says the specific crime he's committed doesn't warrant jail time. If you can't change the people's behavior, change the laws, and they will behave for sure.

Two days ago, they just reported that homelessness locally had RISEN from last year, so nothing is accomplished with all those billions spent. And they just took away the tree planters and tubs local businesses had put on the sidewalk to deter homeless living in encampments on their door steps and unable to run their businesses. Funny that homeless encampments don't need permission to take over public sidewalks, but the businesses were not granted the space to protect themselves. And they pay taxes to the city, the homeless DON'T.

That is what they did to increase traffic while taking away money for other things in LA. They called taking away driving lanes to put in Bus and Bike only lanes as Beautify LA by claiming they were improving sidewalks and adding trees to provide more shade yet there is no budget to make the changes to the streets and after it passed they said each city has to find a way to come up with the money to pay to add in the bus and bike lanes because they will not get a penny to go towards it and they must make the change on every street that needs any work done on the street. Increase traffic delays by calling it a beautification project to get it passed since people don't read the full description of the prop if they think it's a good thing for the city then suffer from the prop immediately afterwards.

Before the election that put Gascon in office in southern California, there was a home invasion burglary in our neighborhood one evening, three masked intruders pistol whipped the homeowner. It was during a World Series game, and everyone was home watching it on TV, but the bold thieves still committed this crime. The police were present and a canine, but no one was found, and it went unsolved. But a neighbor standing near by said that he had two friends (police officers) up in the Bay area where Gascon had been, and this neighbor said those police officers warned him that if Gascon won the local election, 'you'll be sorry.'
