Hey Alan, question for you… when a customer only gives you one number for example like 27lbs… do you apply 10% prestrech? Usually we will do 26 by 28lbs to get that 27. I heard in one of a video a tim from team yonex said if a customer only give you one number (which 27lbs) you put 10% prestrech and then the last 5 cross hole you remove the prestrech. What do you think? How do you feel? I would like to know your thoughts on this? Thanks!

@@Boyanee209 I usually do what the customer asks for. I think the higher tensions they want to try and maintain the shape better that is why they do say the player asks for 30, they might do 29 mains 31 crosses. I don't do too many high tensions, My machine maintains the frame shape. So I say it is up to you what you want to do. As a player and stringer figure out what feels best to you. Try the 26/28 and 27/27 and see what feels best to you. If you are using a 6 point mounting system also look how the frame shape comes out, it might be a hair longer on the 26/28, but do what feels best to you. Don't listen to me or that guy Tim, you are serving your customers, tell them why you do what because YOU feel this feels better because, you like the way it feels. If a customer request something different than what you do, then just do what they ask for. Maybe you should let them know how you string so they get a feeling of what you do:
"You asked for 28 pounds, my normal way of stringing is 26/28"
Or if you string straight then when they ask for 27 it is straight foward. The customer could request 26/28, then you know that is what they want. My thoughts are do what you think is best for your customers, because you as a stringer knows what feels best to you. =)
