no idea but im guessing its so other riders dont see it and get an idea on what speed they should be doing around the corners ect.
HRC doesn't want the other manufacturers to know how many revs the bike is capable of making.
what is that he adjusts with his left hand at 2:42? does the same thing at 2:46??
