- An EKG (electrocardiogram) is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It is used to detect any heart problems, such as heart attacks, irregular heartbeats, or heart failure. An EKG may be ordered by a doctor as part of a routine physical, or if a patient complains of chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, or other symptoms. The test involves placing electrodes on the patient's chest, arms, and legs, and recording the electrical activity of the heart. The results of the test can be displayed on a piece of paper or on a screen and will be reviewed by a doctor.

After I found out that this shows heart disease as well as heart attack it made my health anxiety go waaaaay down. After I found out that oxygen saturation being low could be a sign made me feel better too, and mine was 100 percent

They are really that fast they don't hurt at all
Yes they are no needles or pain I know because I get one every year for my pyschial
if you have chest hair the sticky glue can stick to them.
Such an expensive test for on a few seconds.
It takes longer to set you up than the actual test..

I've had them stuck to me during a surgery. Painless, but I've had so many stuck to me that I've found one stuck in an unexpected place the next day.

i had to have one done yesterday in the doctors office and cause i have a pacemaker i have to go back to a actual heart doctor to re do it today i am hoping and praying it all goes better today cause i am having thyroid surgery in April on the 11th and this is all part of pre op i already got the Chest xray done and the blood work this is the last on this list if this does not work then i have no clue what the surgion will do but i have tried my best to get it all done it was painless yes but the surgion knowing i had a device in my body should have told me to go to a Heart doctor to begin with and not my family doc could have made my life easier .
The guy seemed completely over with this.

Does the placement of the electrodes differ depending on the reason for the procedure?
It's usually a 12 lead ekg, 6 precordial(chest) and 2 on the arms and legs, all ekg placements should be the same no matter what

Even though the camera is at an awkward angle I’m seriously concerned about the positioning of the V1 to V4 electrodes!
The only painful part about the EKG is taking that dang tape off.
Seems to be part of my regulare check up. When I went before I was too hesitant to have it because I needed to lie flat with about a one inch pillow.
I have a massive fear of EKGs and I honestly don’t know why because it doesn’t hurt or anything but I’m so scared of them, they make me cry even thinking about them. I was supposed to have one a few months ago but I refused because the last time I had one I was crying so much and ended up having an anxiety attack. I know that it’s probably the most stupid fear ever and I wish I knew why I was so scared of EKG

So i just had one done and this was my second time in 17 years.
The gentleman didnt have me lay down in fact i was sitting up had my legs out. Had me lift my shirt up he attached some to my chest under my breast one on stomach one on each back of hand as soon as he hooke up the last wire he pushed a bitton and immediately took everything off said i would have results end of day that was Monday was it done correctly since he didnt have me lay down or put any on my legs??

How did it go? My wife had one and it sucks coz it was a male staff who did it and she had to remove her bra
My first appointment was with a guy and I had on a sports bra and he let me keep everything on and just put them on under the sports bra!
But for my second one, I got to wear a gown (on backwards though, “like the opening in the front) and definitely was more exposed

The test is painless but when they remove the stickers your hair gets pulled out. I nearly cussed.

This test sucks. Because my irregular heart beat happens intermittently throughout the day! This only tells what happening right now.

Watermelon Furryz when your heart flutters do you feel like you can’t breathe for a second? i’m 20 years old and everytime i get my vitals done they are in great shape but i noticed sometimes it feels like my heart skips a beat and i can’t breathe for a second and after i recover my heart feels like it’s beating extra hard for a couple minutes after everything happens and sometimes i get a headache. this only happens about once or twice a month, but just recently it happened three times in the span of like 10 seconds so i’m worried now.
M no I don’t get that. Mine seems to be more in the muscles. Feels like a muscle twitching. I can actually see it twitching. Now it happens in different places as well. My neck hurts all the time now though. My heart pounds at night when I turn over in bed abruptly. I have been taking CoQ10 vitamins. I don’t really notice it as much. But it is there. My Apple Watch records my heart rate, and it shows that my heart goes above 120! Not sure how accurate it is though. It does worry me.

M I don’t have any insurance and I’m not working right now. I finished school to be an educator, but there is a hiring freeze at the moment, but as soon as I get a job with insurance I’m gonna be the doctors best patient. 🤣. Whatever it is it affects my muscles and joints as well. 🤷🏾♂️ the world just don’t make em like they used to. My grandparents lived forever. I’m over here hoping I can make it another 20 years at 40. Smh. I know.
