I use a propane torch to heat up the shank of the screwdriver about an 1 1/2" from the handle. The handle just slips off the shank easily. I also heat the tang of the file before sliding it into the handle. It melts the plastic handle and forms it to the file for a tight fit. I've done about 20 files this way and it works great.
I wonder if applying some heat from a propane torch to the shaft of the screwdriver while in the vice and pulling on the handle would work if I get some time I’ll try it and let you know like I mentioned in your short I have a lot of junk screwdrivers lol
It’s just a really cheap Taiwan made Canadian tire vise, there’s a video of me restoring it if you want to see it before and after, she’s nothing special at all tho I promise. Paid $8 I believe it was at my local thrift shop

I have a few more to do so I’m going to give this a try, thank you!

A little bit of epoxy in the hole of the handle will work wonders.
Pematex makes a really good 2 part epoxy not sure if they make a clear epoxy though if they do go for it
But I guess if your not using a clear handle clear wouldn’t matter
@Donthetoolman yeah that’s what I used on that chisel I did and it works great, that stuffs awesome.
