Man how I wanted an ICT700 when they came out. They are still cool something about the reverse Ibanez headstock but I still think the original iceman 3x3 headstock is better on the iceman.
I agree. But I will say: the iceman 3x3 headstock is huuuggeee! I’d like to see an iceman with a Talman style headstock on it. I think in the right iteration it could really work.
Thank you, Dane! Somewhere around 3:15, I started laughing aloud at an old memory you brought to the surface. I remember a young kid who got his first guitar back when cheap guitars were (censored😇)! That kid was so ignorant of guitarcraft -- and there was so little information available where he was, and when he was (75, 76) -- that he didn't realize that he could even change his strings for a few years. (And the strings never broke! SSSOOO HEAVY!) Man, when I look back at that, I wonder how the heck it was that I managed actually to get decent at playing that thing! I can only guess that it was the benefit of not knowing any better. I really DIDN'T know the difference between a good guitar and one that wasn't good. It actually WAS true that I needed to get better just to be able to tell that difference. That all admitted, I cannot help but wonder how different my learning years might have been had gear and information been then the way it is now. I might even be a shredder now! I would have spent more time learning how to play better and less learning how to fight the guitar better!😎
I had an Iceman copy in the 1980’s,kind of a sunburst finish. I was a teenager and let it go. I’d love to get an original Iceman. It would be the last one for my small collection of guitars. Oh! I need a Destroyer too.
i had a iceman in 93 with the 3x3 headstock. when the PS10 paul stanley models came out i sold it and bought the PS10 in 95. great guitar still have it today. plays like a les paul. never seen a guitar this nasty. to me a person that has a guitar this nasty must be a pretty pretty dirty person himself! i mean Jesus
Don't know if anybody has ever noticed is this guy sounds a little like Joe Walsh?🤔...anyway great videos!😊...popular axe in the early to mid eighties!
"I wouldn't do that for 25 bucks" hmmm.... I'm more of the I wouldn't PAY you 25 bucks to restring my guitar... I paid guitar center (vomit center) 75 bucks to restring a floyd rose... first and LAST time that ever happened... the best thing a guitar player can learn is how to work on his own stuff... I can change pickups, fix wiring, switch out tuners, bridges, almost anything now. I'm no genius, and the info is out there, you just have do simple Google searches.

I had an IC50 that I bought new around ‘80 to ‘82. It was metallic blue; Japanese back then.
Ibanez discontinued the ICT700 after 2012. neck through, Dimarzio D activator pickups, gibralter bridge. Nice axe

The Iceman is a sick guitar! Shame on whomever mistreated that beast!
Sweet guitar and great job on getting it to look like new again. Still waiting for Ibanez to reissue these.

sick axe
Did they use it as an ashtray?
The Zimm Man does it again, brings a guitar back to life. As always, awesome job Zimm Man!!
Basic maintenance and a little TLC would help your baby find a new home.
I don't always comment but I love these restring vids of yours...👍
Oh no! Dane got pricked! Might have to get some shots buddy! I was really hoping this was a Zimms guitar.
Hey Dane. (or anyone who cares to reply)
Why do people not restring their guitars themselves?
Great vid, btw. Cheers
Oh, and the Iceman looks brand new🤩👍
Miss my IC 400
A little elbow grease goes a long way ! Thank you for the cool videos, can you send a link to check your band out ? Thank you ! 🐼
Also don’t knock today’s string choice! It’s a banger! I sing it everytime I do a string change and decide what we’re gonna do
