they open their shows with this since 1998 (with a few exceptions) ... and you can hear why, it has it all, basic easy groove, heavy but not too much, great way to warm up a crowd... and also an excellent way to get your levels right with the sound board in a live setting...
@@nicolasaloni4282 only thanks to other KX fans, seriously, thanks for posting about them, it all helps, I still hold out hope for the world but if not at least we got them!
Very cool song. Reminds me a little of Soundgarden or Alice In Chains, although Dug’s vocals have their own unique sound, which is great. It’s not that it’s derivative, but just has that grungy kind of feel. Love the bass line & the drum break. Great track.
@@davidkoblentz for real?! that's awesome to learn - to me it almost mirrors the friendships between alice in chains and fishbone, another one of my favorites. i actually got to catch a double bill of king's x and fishbone on halloween one time - it was wild.
totally, that post-solo drum break feels akin to a matt cameron thing. learning drums in high school gaskill and cameron were two of my top guide points.
I can imagine this song being on a ton of compilation cds back in the day. This track has been the setlist opener for many years. Simple, to the point, hype the crowd...love it.
Gretchen Goes To Nebraska and Dogman are their finest albums but all their work is phenomenal. I've been listening to their self-titled album from 1992 over and over lately-- it's a hidden gem. Living Colour is another awesome band, "Time's Up" is the pinnacle of music- period.
Yeah Kings x discography yeah yeah in my best beavis and butthead voice ha ha. Love this album it’s really heavy and the songs are fantastic on it. Higher than god is my fave on this one…
King’s X is the BEST!! All three are amazing artists that you gather for over 40 years with musicians band. Compositions are more complex just never hit the Main stream unfortunately! So several reactions saying they sound like some of the Grunge bands && actually - well they are recognized by those bands as having influenced that movement !
Just to let Justin & rest of y'all know , you should check out ( KXM ) SUPERGROUP With. Korn Drummer - Ray Luzier / George Lynch OF Lynch mob + Dokken & dUg Pinnick KING'S X. Rescue me , Gun Fight or lightning, also faith is a room. THEY HAVE THREE ALBUMS , thus far, ENJOY!!!
If you enjoy complexity, then you may be disappointed by King's X. Like the title of the song says, it's the Groove Machine. It's groove rock at its finest, and many artists and listeners get this. But it's definitely not for everybody. After 25 years, my wife still doesn't care for them. That's OK...

I love Kings X......this album in particular reminded of Galactic Cowboys....check out their " we are not amused" to see what i mean.

those seattle bands all credit King's X with helping their sound... Chris was great friends with dug so it makes sense.

King's X almost supported Rush in the 90s. They met and hit it off together, but sadly they couldn't get their calendars to align.
Bringing back memories. Completely forgot about them. Good job
Listen to the song Happy off this Album absolutely nasty !!!!
You got to hear some stuff from EAR CANDY. It's like this, but better. lol The Train, A Box, Mississippi Moon, Life Going By. Great stuff.
Nice choice with Ear Candy. It might actually be my favorite King's X album.
Nice vocal harmonies. I liked the drum solo as well.
