My father don't wanted to play Taekwondo! Because he think it has no future in India! .I was playing it for years without his permission! I payed for equipments. Championship.. And every other stuff by myself!. After the responsibilities and family pressure I had to quit the game! Last certificate I had for Taekwondo is for Red black belt!. But I didn't get a chance to buy it! I hope I can comeback maybe not for profession but atleast passion!
Your story is similar to me but yet I know 16 is a bit late to start. But when I ask they say there is no facility or taekwondo academy near by. Also they say that I don't have any future with it. I am not confident enough anymore but somehow I am still waiting for an opportunity. I might agree with them and crack jee but I will never agree to quit dreaming. I am not hoping to be a champion right now because I haven't even started. But soon or latter my struggle will over and I will become what I suppose to be. For now I will only hope for a fight with latika didi one day because that's the only thing that gives a hope to not give up 🥺
That's the real story of a player in India ..one has to stand strong for passion .. Either they don't get support from family or else they become target of dirty politics in the Game. I wish u all the very best ..i hope you continue with your passion.. 🙏🏻 Jai hind
