I saw another guy who bought some cheap plastic automotive gArage ramps he put those on the inside of the trailer. They sat on a angle but worked perfect
We have a 6x14 single axle too. It is the handiest tool we own. Hauls our ATV’s, lumber, and anything/everything we can think of. Nice work and beautiful property you have.
Im wondering if you could have staggered them? The only thing I see, is it looks like the heavier part of the four wheeler is on the right side of the trailer and possibly the fender is or could scrape that fender. Overall, great video brother!
The trailer companies should make trailers more atv friendly. Hauling them pulled up from the side does save space and makes for a better haul while stopping and taking off.
Came out nice. Just thinking that it would’ve been a lot easier if you just cut the rails from that one side you wanted to load it from and make them slip on slip off with a couple of screws you remove you load you lock them back up
Turn the radio down so you can hear that Explorer cussing you in those mountains. 😂 I pulled one John Deere diesel sxs and mine hated me and I wasn’t on any steep roads. Good job though, get a truck!
If the blue polaris is the heaviest, I would put it where the yellow Honda 400 is. That way the heaviest is over the axle. Then put your lightest at the front and the last one at the back.
In my opinion he should have put the heaviest in the front. The lightest in the middle and the last one at the end. And now you have all the weight of all three four wheelers on one side of the trailer. NOT VERY SAFE IN MY OPINION.
I use to pull triples (3 28' trailers) for a freight company. Heaviest is always up front then next heaviest and so on. That way you won't fish tail or snake and you will maintain control of your vehicle easier.
From a safety aspect, you might be asking a lot from that single axle, specifically the weight on the tires. In the video the camera catches the tires when you had the trailer loaded up. The tire was bulging quite a bit, not sure how long the tires will hold up to highway speeds on the interstate. I like your solution overall, just keep an eye on your trailer tires on trips.
3500lb axle. All weight of the atvs are about 2,000 to 2,500 lbs. plus 800 to 1000 lbs trailer frame weight. The axle will do just fine. Weight capacity is perfect.
If you're trailer is 14 foot long you can put two on there sideways and the other one straight on. I have got a 6.6 ft wide by 14 foot long and haul 3 atvs on it all 3 are 450 formans with no problem.
Not safe. If I had to do something like this for a short term solution, I would just cut the trailer. The best solution is to simply buy the correct size trailer- not just for loading but for correct tongue/overall weight distribution. With all three on an angle, there are various issues including more weight to the downhill side of the trailer. Also, one of the ATV's was barely on the wood. Also, always wear a helmet even for something as simple as loading.
@@caseysimon6357 i don't have any proof but I welded me up a set of rails that bridged across my rails on my trailer, and I drilled holes and locked them in with a pin. Worked great.

On this style trailer the sides are the main support for holding up the weight of the trailer. If the side was cut off the angle frame wound bend or break. Thank you for the comment though.

That Honda 400 has seen some paved road running by the looks of the rubber.
You can put the middle quad pointing the opposite direction too
Storing the ramp at the rear of the trailer, and move all the machines as far forward as possible to get more tongue weight.
Need to strap front of them too, ask me how I know. 😂
How you know lol
@@beansharley2972 they probably rolled forward hitting the trailer and possibly breaking plastic or dented a bumper
That was great, I'll be doing same project myself. Thanks
Good video definitely helped me come up with an idea for my small trailer...... good old US 52 lol I'm in southern Ohio and live right off of 52
Get a larger trailer, it will be the safest thing to do. I do appreciate your ingenuity.
You are asking for trouble putting more weight to the back. You need tongue weight for single axle.
I was thinking same thing to much in back can cause back end to swing and pull vehicle off road easily.
@@XxTWMLxX I had to learn the hard way years ago. But once you get the life scared out of you. You learn real fast
More tongue weight is way way better than less. Just search on trailer tongue weight.. put the Polaris all the way up front.
I was thinking swap yellow & white.. also backing them on too, help load balance.
I would rather have more tongue weight than not enough.
Tongue should always be heavier then back to prevent sway and possiblity of trailer losing control pulling vehicle off the road.
I’d rather have tread on my tires than Honda racing slicks.. 😳
Im wondering if you could have staggered them? The only thing I see, is it looks like the heavier part of the four wheeler is on the right side of the trailer and possibly the fender is or could scrape that fender.

Wow never thought a 5min loading video would take over 25mins lol
Yeah. Long winded videos are frustrating. Keep it to the point, and quit with the jaw flapping for God'd sake. Ugh.
I wonder how close you are to the trailer's GVWR.....if you're not already exceeding it.
He's fine.

I’m surprised you were able to film the video without the Polaris breaking down

@@IsoNurFace You're right. Weight in the back will cause trailer whipping. That experience is terrifying.
By putting planking on the top of the bottom three you can stack three more ATVs.
What part of WV are you from? I’m in greenbrier county.
Given the task of not buying anything, the only change I would make is crossing your trailer chains.
I believe crossing chains is the law
Good idea! I'm wondering if your over loading that single axle trailer? What is that Trailer rated for?

I hope you add trailer brakes thats a good bit of weight back there
I think you did a good job overall. But I think I would put on a trailer jack wheel. Easier on the back and easier to line up.
This was awesome
Just cut the trailer rail at the front left side and bolt some hinges on so you can raise and lower the side rail just like your tail ramp.
The rails are a key structural part of these angle iron trailers. They have very little strength without them welded in place
Is there any worry about the weight being set on the driver’s side? Seems that that could have some weight issues there. Just a thought
Whats the wide size?
Automotive service ramps work great.
What size is your trailer?
One ATV too small of a size.
Build a structural tonneau cover for it and load them on top.
Man up. Buy a truck one in the back two in the trailer.
What size trailer?
6x14
what size is the trailer
6x14

Awesome, I have a 5x14 and was considering building a platform to convert to a flat bed to haul my 3 units...great, great video!
Your safety chains are supposed to be crossed a few times so if it falls off the ball that's what it's there for
For sale...ford explorer...ran when parked....hauls 3 fourwheelers....over heats and needs transmission. Cheap!
Pallets work good for that
Nice!
I would much rather be tongue heavy than tongue light. Swap the blue and white ones. I also would not be a fan of the quad sitting on the 5/4 boards.
I live in Lincoln county not too far from there
I would have just stood them up on end heavy one in the front.
I've seen that. I like that strategy a bit better
How don't you stand up the 4 wheelers on end by yourself?
Why not cut the rails off and load one from the side
The rails are part of the structural integrity when welded
