Always enjoy all of your videos. It's a shame that poor engine had to die like it did. It seemed to run well when you were using it until it kinda took a nose dive.

Thanks, it was a miracle it ran as well as it did.:) Always had a miss until I started running it on biodiesel. This was really just masking the underlying issue.:) Once it blew the head gasket the writing was on the wall.:)

Previous Owners are a PITA, too bad for tons of old equipment.

Mr Detroit Whisperer first off I appreciate you responding to all of my comments throughout the years
I picked up a 671 no starter standard clockwise rotation standing in front of it I determine this by pulling the fuel pump off the back of the blower hand spinning the engine and watch the direction the blower spun you would think starters would be easy to find there's not really a perfect place to find one on the net do you know if there's interchangeability between the 671 and the 6V 92 thank you for your time

You're welcome.:) Yes they should be interchangeable, might have to clock starter the housing for the 6-71.:)

4 strokes are a little different I learned from the Cummins guys that head gskts are a consumable part and need to be replaced after so many hours whether you want to or not. In my experience single weight oils are better for a lot of engines Chevy Ford Cummins Cat they all last longer. Everyone could learn something from Detroit Diesel

The head gasket leaking was an issue on these as well.:)

Well made,,All steel parts,,No plastic anywhere,,Timing gears instead of chains or belts,,So it will last for a million miles,,Super simple design,,No computers or electronic sensors anywhere,,Mecanical pump,,What's not to like,,In my opinion we are going backward when it comes to Automobiles and engine manufacturing ,,Some modern cars and trucks now have over 50 separate computer modules and hundreds of sensors in them,,,We need to stop this madness,,And get back to bare bones motoring,,

Very true, the new engine have built-in obsolescence.
