I feel so honoured to see a true artisan take pride in her creation. The great tradition she has inherited and mastered is a source of deep pride to her, as it should be😀. Stinging Nettle is a nutritious and highly regarded vegetable in the Himalayas and is delicious too.

Great video thanks. The first part she was lining up all the warp fibres before stringing them onto a loom. I loved the old wooden shuttle and heads, such a wonderful patina from years of use.

She's no need to go to the gymnasium of an evening. I see what I think is her mother beside her at the end, I hope her daughter still weaves. My grandmother spun her own wool and dyed it with nettle, whin and lychen, my mother and all my aunts could do it, but alas, times changed

it is. 99 percent of our luxury or not really necessary household gadgets shouldnt be called high tech but `a waste of tech`

Lots of other RUclipss videos about backstrap weaving, and even some that don't miss out the essential stage of moving the wound warp from the warping posts to weaving position. Very commonly used in South America to make complex cloths and many modern weavers use this method to create textiles.

Ah yes impatience the disease of the 21st century. Imagine the feeling putting on something you spend month creating for yourself.. All your soul flowing into that one piece. It provides you with a purpose, will nearly last forever, doesn't cost you a cent and won't poison you with toxic chemicals in it. Many more benefits
