Just a huge THANK YOU for posting a variety of content consistently!! I loved the previous video on 10 things to do with your kids at home and I have been home with a newborn and a toddler - losing my mind! So thank you for a little distraction + helpful ideas!!
We just painted our kitchen cabinets and it just makes the kitchen look a million times more beautiful. So we really regret not doing it sooner! It took a couple of days worth of work, but it just brings me SO much joy when I am in the kitchen.
Making tea, cooking. Really everything you need boiling water for. You can just fill the pans with boiling water, instead of waiting for the water to boil when cooking. It saves tons of time.
Don’t worry Emily. You and Matt have still made this house a lovely home! 🏡 My favorite is the glass foldable doors that open up to your garden. 😍 You live and you learn and you’ve all made it your home for the past 10 years. The most important thing is that you lived in this home and you’ll take so many precious memories with you. 😊 I found your home sold on Rightmove. I’ll sure miss your current home. Good Luck with the move! 👍🏼
My regrets are wooden kitchen work top- it swells and warps plus it’s prone to damp from the sink and you have to be careful what you antibac it with. Also white floor grout, why did I think it was a good idea 😂 and kitchen cupboards with groove details- SO hard to keep clean!
Hi Emily, thank you for the wonderful videos. We've been living in our home for 3 years now and our biggest regret was renovating it before we moved in, i say this because its only once your in a space that you know where you want to put something or if its functional or practical. We also had a baby afterwards and realized the home was too small, we'd like to install a jungle gym in the garden for him when he's a little older and we can't do it in this garden. So now we've decided to sell after 3 years and will have to take a loss 🤷♀️
Thank you for your videos, absolutely love them and learn so much from them. I get so excited when your video alert pops up on my phone! Stunning outfit again as always. Good luck with the big move 😘xxx
Hi Emily thx for this video. I am not actually moving house at all (at the moment) but I did move to London April 2019 and we have completely changed it! I do have a hot and cold tap in my kitchen, it is so helpful when we are just about to eat dinner and the kids need to wash their hands because have a dining room connected to the kitchen. We have a downstairs bathroom but its just easier if its one room! Stay safe. XXx
I’m moving soon too (hopefully!). I’d love to install bifold doors in my new place. I’m in a flat now and finally getting a house with garden and my toddler cant wait! Love your videos Emily x
Excellent advice! When I see that bath faucet I cringe because I still have a raised scar on my back from the bathtub faucet! They've got those little rubber covers you can put on them now for kids too!
Amazing, we are renovating our house at the mo so these will help out. I also have a home improvement that I hated was we got fake vinyl flooring and it is gets so dirty, you cant clean it and there are loads of cuts in it from dog claws and dropping knives. Never buying it again
Hi Marion! I’m a fellow Jewish mom from Argentina, I’m subscribe to your Chanel and I love your videos! And it seems we both like emilys videos as well. xx
I’m so glad you made this video! I’ve got so many regrets with our current house and now we’re trying to move I’m going to try my hardest not to make the same mistakes x
Thank you for this video. So many great tips! There is a sealant you can get for tiles and grout. It's kind of like clear nail polish. Seal it when it's new and it never gets dirty. 😊
Great tips! Also about the usb sockets, I wouldn’t have thought of that. Also I’d love a filtered water tap on our sink as I use a jug but it’s another thing on the bench and we all drink a lot of water! So constant refills. Also love your dress, that blue is YOUR colour! 🦋😍👌🏼
Hi Emily, we just completed our kitchen reno a few months back and our quooker tap is definitely the best and most utilised life hacking feature. We went for the flex so it’s just the one tap for drinking water with pull out hose and boiling water. I researched a lot whether to go for quooker or another brand but because of quooker’s patent only their taps achieve boiling water temperatures. We didn’t have a lot of space under the sink so went for the three litre tank. We bought ours around Black Friday and got a good deal. The safety feature is also well designed and gives peace of mind with kids around. Highly recommend it!
I know you’re moving house now but a tip for your white grout. I use the collie bang mould spray and my h20 steam mop with the jet spray type attachment and it comes up really good x
We have got a Quooker instant boiling water tap and I would highly recommend it! We got a self descaling one so the tank is quite large and takes up space under the sink - only downside. But it is worth it as I don’t have a kettle on my workspace and I get instant boiling water. It was initially incorrectly fitted by my builders (go figure) and Quooker themselves came to my house and fixed it for free - the customer service was phenomenal.
I have a hot tap and would 100% recommend it’s so handy and easy but you have to be carful it doesn’t splash you as it hurt a lot as it is boiling water.💗 Xx
I love your videos! Your house is beautiful. I regret that we didn’t get taller kitchen cabinets. We could’ve gotten rid of the bit of drywall above the old cabinets but at the time it seemed too expensive. Oh well. We hope to move in a few years anyway...
omg best video ever! im so glad im watching this before starting my reno. thank you for sharing what you honesty regret! when i saw the spigot in the tub my back cringed.... been there, done that!
Hopefully going to buy our first house (when all this is over) and renovate it. This has given me so many ideas and tips! Thanks for sharing, I think this video was even more helpful than the 'best' home one! Wishing you all the best in your move
You can buy grout pens. I was sceptical, but it really worked. I did have to spend an hour on my hands and knees filling in the grout lines, and a bathroom about the same size as your en-suite took two pens, but it worked and the grout is super white and has stayed white for a couple years now!
Great video! By the way, they make kids spout covers for your long faucet in the bathtub. They are good to keep kiddos from hurting their back and head
Really helpful. I’ll be putting my house on the market next year, so I’m really interested in anything to do with house cleaning, renovation, preparation, etc. Thank you!
We're currently waiting to sign contracts on our forever home and we shall be renovating as soon as we move in. This video has come just at the right time, thankyou. As always you look absolutely stunning 😍
This is great advice, thank you for sharing. My partner and I move into our first house next week and we have bi-fold doors, but luckily we have the ones that have the one section you can open xx
I’ve had instant-hots in my last two houses and will never be without one! So convenient! As for the white grout in your bathroom, try steam cleaning it.
I love that the auto captions for your kitchen Reno say you regret not adding a hot tub! Sounds like an opportunity missed there! Haha! The instant hot tap is a great idea though.
Thanks for sharing Emily. We are currently house hunting and need tips like these. I love your garden and glass door combo and thinking of copying it for our house
We have a boiling hot tap and a filter drinking water tap attached too by the brand FRANKE. I love it, it’s amazing so convenient specially for quick cups of tea! Also has a clip on the tap that you have to remove so the kids couldn’t accidentally pour boiling hot water on them x
Great video 👍 We had our house remodelled before we moved in because my OCD wouldn’t have coped with all the chaos. The only thing I regret atm (we’ve been here just over a year) is our kitchen and downstairs bathroom floor. The tiles are black with a slight gloss which looks beautiful but with six of us plus two cats it’s totally impractical.
My parents have boiling water coming out of their tap. I love it, it seems so usefull. The mini boiler under the sink does take up almost an entire cupboard, so you should decide if its really worth it if you need the space for other things.
Such a lovely home - spent the years watching you do it up. Very excited for your new home. We moved abroad and looking at buying our first home Down under. All your tips will help- thanks 😊
We have a boiling water tap and love it. Never boil a kettle or have to wait for a pan to heat up. Honestly we wasn’t sure to get it but now we love it soooo much
We’re currently halfway through our renovation. Good advice re the bifolds, we got the ones where you can open just one door. We have knocked through into our dining room and a small office room at the front and created a large kitchen/dining/living space! In fact, when we were researching designs my husband came across your kitchen video and asked me what I thought! Our kitchen is like yours although perhaps more of a dove grey. We have an island separate in a charcoal grey and I kinda wished we’d done the whole kitchen like that as it looks quite striking with the white granite...but we didn’t and I slightly regret that. We thought about that boiling tap too but changed our minds when we saw the price! We’ve got porcelain tiles through your hallway and kitchen and we did think about underfloor heating, however, it’s so expensive and if something goes wrong with it you have a huge problem! When we bought our house it had a wood burning stove...I hated it so we replaced it with a Victorian style gas fire. Looking forward to seeing how you renovate your new home. I love interior design xxx
Oo we have underfloor heating in our kitchen n its awesome when you have young babies or a shoe free home (or try to!), in fact I rush we had it everywhere downstairs (except it's under our bin and our cupboards can warm inside!) That said I dont think its needed in most upstairs bathrooms as there maybe are pipes running under the anyway tiles and that does it anyway! Might be diff for bigger bathrooms, and depends on how big your bath mats are!
I renovated an 1865 cottage which I bought 3 years ago after downsizing when my family flew the nest that I absolutely love. I had always wanted a stable door so I had one put in at the back of the house, but I wish I had put it as my front door, as I have 2 dogs when I have deliveries etc I have to shut the dogs away into another room before I open the door, if I’d had the stable door put on the front of the cottage I would have only needed to open the top half and not had to sort out my 2 little dogs. I’m with you on the grey grouting. Our upstairs bathroom never looks really clean so when we did downstairs bathroom and kitchen we used grey grout, so much better xx
OMG I have SO MANY regrets... But underfloor heating is a big one as well. I would do better lighting; quartz countertops for sure; change the doors and do some kind of sound proofing, especially in the WC...
Really enjoyed this video... You do have such a lovely home... You have such a happiness about you that you always make me smile... I hope you and your family are doing well.. xx
I wanted a boiling water tap when I had my kitchen renovated and so wish that I had brought it now but at the time I deemed it an unnecessary expense! Also I regret not having dimmer lights fitted to my lounge and dining room, it’s either pitch black or football floodlights, no in between. Just starting our new extension and dimmers are definitely going into that! X
Hi Emily, Great video, I have so many little niggles from renovating our house. But sometimes the grass just seems greener on the other side. We got the bifolds with 'slave door' like you are mentioning you would have preferred. These are a lot easier for going in and out but most are held back by a magnet. It doesn't have to be super windy to pull the door off it's magnet causing it to slam shut which as they are such large doors is a worry with little ones around. At least you do not have this problem with the way yours open! We also got the bifolds with internal blinds at great extra cost they operated by a neat little magnet which looks tidy and safer when cords but i find then so difficult to operate unlike the guy who demonstrated them in the shop who made it look easy as pie! Maybe i just need more practice but it puts me off using them i find it such a pain! Ahhh well you live and learn ;-)
If your ever tiling again you can get grout called epoxy grout. It's brilliant we got it in our wet room 10 years ago and then in the kitchen & utility room few years later. There both still pure white after never being cleaned. It's completely waterproof and impossible to stain it. 😀🛁
We’ve just had a new kitchen and have a 4in1 hot tap and it’s wonderful! We love it and use it all the time - the only thing to factor in is the expense of the filters 🙈 our tap is brand new so we can only use the filters from the company that made the tap and they’re 90 odd quid a pop! Please please PLEASE could you let me know what flooring you have downstairs in your main area and if you are happy with it? 🙏🙏🙏
Your content is original. It's creative. This is why I've come back for years.
Ah thank you! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Can’t agree more 💖

We just painted our kitchen cabinets and it just makes the kitchen look a million times more beautiful. So we really regret not doing it sooner!
It took a couple of days worth of work, but it just brings me SO much joy when I am in the kitchen.
We had a boiling water tap installed, and I didn't realise I would use it so much -the best thing we did to the kitchen!
What ways do you find yourself using the tap? I’ve seen the cold filtered water taps but never the boiling water ones.
Making tea, cooking. Really everything you need boiling water for. You can just fill the pans with boiling water, instead of waiting for the water to boil when cooking. It saves tons of time.

Ah amazing Kate, fingers crossed!! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
We installed our hot tap ourselves. My in laws gifted us tap itself. It was easy to install, and not all that expensive actually. 100% worth it.
Great advice Evylyn! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Very helpful! Never would have thought of the bath tap!
Thanks for being real with us!!
Excellent advice! When I see that bath faucet I cringe because I still have a raised scar on my back from the bathtub faucet! They've got those little rubber covers you can put on them now for kids too!

Glad that it helps! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx

We're currently waiting to sign contracts on our forever home and we shall be renovating as soon as we move in. This video has come just at the right time, thankyou. As always you look absolutely stunning 😍
Amazing Nicky!! Congrats. Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx

LOVE all the house content stuff!
Would also love some lockdown days out ideas (of places that are actually open at the moment) xx
You can buy grout paint to refresh your grout! It’s not a long term fix and will need touch ups in the future. But it works!
Fab vlog ! Thanks for mentioning the blinds as I was considering them but never knew about them not being black out 🙈😊
Great content again, I love your informative videos, precise, interesting and easy to remember. Cheers Diana NZ
I love to binge watch your vids 😍😃💝
Ah thank you! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Yes! I'm so glad I watched this. I have been looking at the EXACT same bathroom tile and wanted white grout. Definitely going to have to look at grey.
Thanks for sharing Emily. We are currently house hunting and need tips like these. I love your garden and glass door combo and thinking of copying it for our house
I am in the US and have never heard of (and don't know anyone with) a hot tap. A wonderfully great idea!
We have a boiling hot tap and a filter drinking water tap attached too by the brand FRANKE. I love it, it’s amazing so convenient specially for quick cups of tea! Also has a clip on the tap that you have to remove so the kids couldn’t accidentally pour boiling hot water on them x

Can’t wait to watch your video once my sister is asleep xx
I hope you like it Halima! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Loved this Emily thank you so much. We will be renovating soon so this is perfect.
Best of luck! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Try the pink stuff paste on the bathroom flooring.
The tap you can just put a jug over it or a towel. We have a cute Skip Hop one (Moby bath spout cover)
We have a boiling water tap and love it. Never boil a kettle or have to wait for a pan to heat up. Honestly we wasn’t sure to get it but now we love it soooo much
So glad you did this video. I LOVE your channel!
LOVE my instant hot water tap! Don't think I could live without it! Yes, it's expensive, but so so worth it!
Hi Emily, I'm glad to see that your foot is doing better.
There’s a bathroom upstairs and then right next to it is our en-suite, so we’ve decided to knock through and make it one large bathroom/shower room. When we bought our house it had a wood burning stove...I hated it so we replaced it with a Victorian style gas fire. Looking forward to seeing how you renovate your new home. I love interior design xxx
Wow sounds like a great project Hilary! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Thank you for sharing! It does give me ideas when we are going to renovate. Great tips! 😊
They are King Charles Cavaliers named Ed and Luna by the way 😂😂. Love your channel Emily x
Your house is still lovely though Emily. Ps I'm a new subscriber and I can't wait for notifications so I can follow your beautiful family!
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VIDEO! ME AND MY HUSBAND ARE TAKING SO MANY NOTES AS WE ARE DOING UP OUR HOUSE NOW! THANK YOU EMILY X
I would recomend a zip tap it has a normal tap on the side and then a chilled water Tap and a boiling tap that are amazing and the chilled tap is great for children that like cold water
The times! When USB is outdated😁
I'm with you with the surround system, no longer needed.
Exactly!! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
good luck with the new house!!!! im sure it will be just what u want🙏😍
Thanks! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
I really really love your videos!!!!
Thank you so much for watching and stay safe Mariam xx
Does anyone remember the name of the video where she said they decided to go ahead and move? I guess I missed it somehow
Your kitchen flower vase.... I just ❤❤❤
You guys did such a beautiful job remodeling! ❤️
Talking about white grout, i was thinking about the same thing about our bathroom today. ..
I’ve successfully used a grout pen to change my grout from white to gray. Looks great and you can’t tell at all that it was ever white!
oh the heated floors!!! I wish we had them! And yes, the tub faucet is a pain for us too!!
I’m with you on the grey grouting. Our upstairs bathroom never looks really clean so when we did downstairs bathroom and kitchen we used grey grout, so much better xx
Never been this early. Love your channel!!! Love your dress, it's lovely!
Thanks! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
OMG I have SO MANY regrets... But underfloor heating is a big one as well. I would do better lighting; quartz countertops for sure; change the doors and do some kind of sound proofing, especially in the WC...
Love your videos we’re about to renovate the upstairs washroom in our house
Really enjoyed this video... You do have such a lovely home... You have such a happiness about you that you always make me smile... I hope you and your family are doing well.. xx
We’ve got a Quooker hot water tap and it’s really useful! Definitely recommend it for your next kitchen! Thank you for another great video Emily! X
Great thanks Isha! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Great video Emily, thank you!
Thank you so much for watching and stay safe Gemma xx
Thanks for the amazing content Emily❤❤
Thank you so much for watching and stay safe Aminah xx
I wanted a boiling water tap when I had my kitchen renovated and so wish that I had brought it now but at the time I deemed it an unnecessary expense! Also I regret not having dimmer lights fitted to my lounge and dining room, it’s either pitch black or football floodlights, no in between. We have the quooker boiling water and filtered water tap. Love it, wouldn’t be without it.
This is so helpful video. Thank you Emily
Loved this so many things you don’t even think about and just do cuz at the time it looks nice
Hi Emily, Great video, I have so many little niggles from renovating our house. But sometimes the grass just seems greener on the other side. We got the bifolds with 'slave door' like you are mentioning you would have preferred. These are a lot easier for going in and out but most are held back by a magnet. Maybe i just need more practice but it puts me off using them i find it such a pain! Ahhh well you live and learn ;-)
Emily when do you move and can we have a house tour ASAP? So excited for you and to go on the next journey with you all! 🥰
Hopefully soon Sarah, your guess is as good as mine though! Plenty of videos coming soon though. Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx

Wow great news Alicia! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Love this video, so helpful! Just so you know you can buy grout pens (in lots of colours and fairly cheap) to change the colour of the grout ☺️

If your ever tiling again you can get grout called epoxy grout. It's brilliant we got it in our wet room 10 years ago and then in the kitchen & utility room few years later. There both still pure white after never being cleaned. It's completely waterproof and impossible to stain it. 😀🛁
Loved this, can't wait 2 see ur new house .See ur boots off lol xxx
Thank you so much for watching and stay safe Tracy xx
We’ve just had a new kitchen and have a 4in1 hot tap and it’s wonderful! We love it and use it all the time - the only thing to factor in is the expense of the filters 🙈 our tap is brand new so we can only use the filters from the company that made the tap and they’re 90 odd quid a pop! Please please PLEASE could you let me know what flooring you have downstairs in your main area and if you are happy with it? 🙏🙏🙏
