This is an awesome song eh. I have heard a lot of people calling others papa in the body of Christ. I was wondering if it is ok when Jesus says in Matthew 23:9 "And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." I know the word Papa and Father are different but because they basically mean the same thing does that mean we shouldn't call anyone on earth papa or should we ignore this one. What do you think?
@@jstewart777 good question. In my mind, and I could be wrong, but you call somebody papa that is a father figure in your life that teaches you how to be a mature son and how to be a grown-up. I’ve indirectly learned more about how to worship the Lord from Godfrey than any church service or worship service I’ve ever been to. I call him Papa as a sign of respect. On top of that, my earthly father is no longer among the living. He’s with Jesus, he’s not Earthside. Me calling him that is rooted in love, and I would like to think that the Lord can cover it with grace if I’m in the wrong.
"For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority." Colossians 2:9-10
What is the real gospel message now? I’m sick of the the charismatic terrorism I have live under in heart and mind since aged 17 in 1988, now I’m 52 what’s the Truth?
Amen! Every verse used in a sermon by a modern-day so-called "prophet", or "apostle" needs to be read in context and tested. (1 John 4). Satan will mix lies with TRUTH to make it palatable! Beware!
Brilliant. Just inspired the latest episode of "The Fields Brothers Show" podcast.
This is why I am here! Love this song and love the Fields Brothers Show!
Me too. The Fields Brothers Show brought me here.
Edit: wow! It's the Roger Fields himself! Glad you shared this brother.
Godfrey, thank you for the creative humour, clarity and fun in this song. I love it!
Hands down one of my favorite modern worship songs right now!! Love you, Papa Godfrey!!
