    One thought contrary to the “too much light” hypothesis. Only had a couple herms in my time. But one thing I noticed about the nanners is that they tend to form in places where there is very little light penetration, never the tops. You had some pretty tall-bushy plants there. Maybe try some smaller scale de-leafing more often to get the light to penetrate into the herm zones during veg and early flower. Humble suggestion. ✌️

      That sounds right on... I actually hope that's the case, because I take off everything lower anyway

    With those lights, have you thought of doing a room full of strains that appreciate heavy light? For example, Black Domina, Black Diesel, Black Mamba. In Veg expose them to UV (high intensity low interval). They will turn BLACK, it's like a sunburn. After that... you pretty much throw any amount of light at it and they will be fine... better than fine premium. I've seen bud that is dark as coal! You could make a series out of it... i.e. The Search for Midnight

      Everything you just said sounds over my pay grade! I'll just deal with the herms until I can get the lights dialed in through the stretch

    I had a small herm issue with 1 Runtz Muffin and 1 Tropicana Banana. The Runtz Muffin barely developed any just at the end. The Tropicana Banana I think happened because I let go a little longer than i should have experimenting with trichome harvest stages. I'm running a 780 watt mars hydro and 2 280 watt spider farmers in a 8x4 area over living soil fabric bed.
    Both happened under the more intense 780 watt light.

      Yours hermed at the end?!?! Mine are always through the stretch... I think Blinkhorn Klinkhammer was right when he said it's the budsites that don't get any light through the stretch

      @thewell-roundednovice8852 Both were in the last 2 weeks before harvesting when they started to show herm development however both were ran longer term to find the effect sweet spot.

    Banana punch is very good men 👌

    Also report on your recommendations. Mimosa x Orange Punch was a heavy hitter but i found its longevity lacking as about 90 minutes after consumption effects had worn off, possibly should had let it gone longer as i harvested when extremely cloudy with 10% amber. I got medium yields with this strain.
    Runtz x Layer Cake was an all around winner with extreme terpene profile, smell and taste were phenomenal with a great potency level. Unfortunately my yield was small but it was never a big plant to begin with. I have 3 large ones going into flower soon.

    I heard from a good friend breeder that its easier to stress out a seedling to herm most of the time the clones from her will be more stable! I would say go easy on the seedlings to see if you like it than push the clones harder!

    I hate to revisit the Runtz Muffin with you again but i really feel you should give it another chance. I've come across the sativa like skinny leaf pheno twice out of 30 seeds. I got repeated results of heavy yields, very potent flowers with the 28 broad leaf phenos. Several at 4 and 4 oz and one over 6. Only thing thats yielded more was a Tropicana Banana that came in a little over 8 oz. All of these veg one month from seed then flowered in the fabric beds.
    I'm mad at myself right now because I dont have Runtz Muffin in my current run and will run out before more can be flowered and harvested.

      There's too many good Barneys strains for me to try... I can't back-track,, it's already gonna take me forever.... also, people go coo-coo for the strains like Strawberry Lemonade and RuntzXLayercake... ill probably do an Allstars run at the end, but I don't think Muffin will make the list for me

      @thewell-roundednovice8852 I've got Strawberry Lemonade 4 weeks in flower right now, definitely eager to try it. Also Ayahuasca Purple, Gelato 45,Orange Sherbert, Biscotti and Biscotti Mintz in the same run. Looking forward to trying them all.

    Do u got pfd meter those 1000s need supplemental co2? Which is probably like u said light intensity causing hermie . That's why I stayed with spider farmer 7000. Id run that 1000 at 70 percent max without co2 or raise lights .Migrow 1000 par test on 1000 then center was hitting almost 1400 ppfd or pfd

    Aren't veg nutritions causing extra stretching due to big amount of nitrogen?

    When you're looking for hermies don't you turn the lights off and use a torch?,
    they do 100% stand out in the dark.

  • @bigghurt187
    @bigghurt187 6 месяцев назад +2

    Yea i got a feeling at that distance and that power i bet you're at 1400 ppfd or higher in the middle, but I've known alot of people saying Barney's genetics have went down hill.

    What are the chance there is a pinhole of a lightleak. From the veg tent on that side. For every plant every run to be herming over there is super suspicious!! Anyways God speed my friend, following closely from BC , Canada

    • @81crispy
      @81crispy 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah,happened to me last round,couldn’t figure out why but I sat in the room after lights out for 30mins and found a slight leak near the underside canopy,it was just a slight glow through the polystyrene wall in an area where the vent goes out,painted it black and no more glow

    • @thewell-roundednovice8852
      @thewell-roundednovice8852  6 месяцев назад

      Took the veg tent out of the room... but that quadrant is right next to the minisplit, so could be the fluctuating temps.. but I still think it's just intense light

    • @user-xe1nq8vy3f
      @user-xe1nq8vy3f 6 месяцев назад +1

      @thewell-roundednovice8852 wouldn't the plant be showing symptoms of light stress before herming?? My electric sky light 8" away doesn't cause herms and that's pumping out over 2000 par if I'm correct at that point. Very suspicious. Your idea of wacking out the middle like a bowl didn't sound half bad if the nanners are predominantly in the middle
