  • Winter in the heart of Italy! Join us as we explore the hilltop city of Perugia during the peak of the Christmas season. The capital city of central Italy’s Umbria region stands out for its still-visible Etruscan history, which dates back to around the 6th century BC. Along with formidable Etruscan gates, a picturesque aqueduct, and sweeping panoramic views, Perugia is an enchanting maze of hills, stairs, wine bars, and chocolate shops. Oh, and don’t forget the truffles.

    Another stellar video. One reason I keep tuning in to B&S is they bridge a much needed gap between Infotainment and Edutainment

      Of course it goes without saying that B&S is my go-to Traveltainment channel. You leave me pondering the oft-debated issue. Will the Etruscans rise again?

    Merry Christmas! We enjoyed watching your video of your visit to Perugia. We travelled to Umbria last spring. There is so much to see in this beautiful part of Italy. We are going back in the fall of 2024. We can’t wait. Happy New Year!

      Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching. It was our first time in Perugia and we were VERY impressed. How often do you go to Umbria? We only visited Perugia in Umbria and we were surprised ... great food, beautifully historic city and immaculately run town.

      We stayed in an Airbnb in Spello and used that as our base. From there we visited Assisi, Spoleto, and Montefalco. Such a beautiful area but we never made it to Perugia. There so much more to see so we’re going back. It will be our second trip to the region. We were also impressed by the immaculately kept towns and the beautifully warm people.

      Would you recommend Spello as a place to visit? As well Spoleto or Montefalco? Assisi is a place that is discussed a lot for sure and we could see the influence in Perugia. OUr taste of Umbria has a noticeable different feel than anywhere in Tuscany except perhaps Siena. @@kensparacino432

    Merry Xmas!! How many days do you recommend spending in Perugia if I want to do Christmas markets and see the main sights? I usually go to Austria and I am considering Trento/Bolzano? Considering Bolzano or Trento for holiday christmas time next year. Which would you recommend between the two? Trento looks incredible 😍

    • @BigSmallTravel
      @BigSmallTravel  6 месяцев назад +1

      Merry Xmas to you! We spent about 3 days in Perugia and thought that was a perfect amount of time. You could probably do less, though, as most of the main sites are very close to each other. As far as Trento and Bolzano, we have only been to Trento, and really enjoyed it. We highly recommend a visit there. We’ll be working on a video for Trento soon. Stay tuned! As for the Christmas markets, we have heard good things about Bolzano, but you could probably do both Trento and Bolzano as they are less than an hour apart by train. Let us know what you decide! Happy holidays!
