Everyone has their own definition of what they need to be comfortable and happy. Not everyone would be happy living where I do or they way I do, AND THAT'S OK! Be happy folks.
Glad you made it back safe from Portugal. Great video. I really enjoy your videos, your perspective and your communication style. Thanks keep me coming.
Appreciate The Overall Perspective Of This Video & Topic.👍 The Fact That You Had Only Been Gone For Four Days And Already Missed 🇹🇭 Spoke Volumes! I`m glad you are happy in Thailand, Sir. That is what life is about, isn`t it. I think the most important thing for foreigners retiring here, is to thrive in their own company. Feeling well and okey being alone sometimes. To enjoy life with others, friends or spouses, you must first learn to enjoy life alone. And grow from there. 1000-1200 USD a month is not bad for those who are finished with their "2 weeks holiday" lifestyle. Living here is a different cookie, and I know many foreigners doing well by that amount. Not drinkers or having casual hookups with girls, but long time, happy retirees on a budget.
My two penneth for what it's worth: 1. This was your best vlog I've watched so far! Thank you. 2. The $1000 thing is relative to your stage in life I feel, Keis is at a different stage from you and I in my opinion (I'm 57). 3. $1000 is only £770 so yeehah 🤠 4. Have a great weekend.
What a great video. Thanks a lot. I’m 57 and I plan to do very much what you have done when I’m 62. May I ask you about your insurance. I believe you pay 125 dollar a month. Is that a Thai insurance? Is it covering accidents and hospital care? Would you say a budget like yours I doable in Hua Hin?
Hi Michael. Do you do consults or calls? I don’t see any contact info - hence reaching out in the comments section I think I’m in a similar situation to you. Plenty of cash and investments. But not enough to retire here.
Aloha How are you getting a US phone number for $6 I need a US phone number for 2FA from my bank and such. When I was in Thailand for a couple months but had to keep my T Mobile number for like $55. When I come to Thailand full time I would love to dump that T mobile number. Thanks for the info Great Video
But I remember that you said you rent it for 6 or 7k baht per month 😅 I am looking for a decent 1bdrm in jomtien I can't find it lol that price no longer exists

Great video & information Michael, I can't wait to go back and retire out there.
Keep working toward your goal.
Enjoyed your video and what enables you to see "new things every day" Liked the coffee shop and the use of the Cafelat. Thumbs up!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks!
I agree with your philosophy.
Thanks for watching!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see some moments of your Bang Saray neighborhood and the local coffee shop, can't wait to explore that area when i arrive.
It's a nice little town.

Great video
Thank you very much.
Pete on Retreat channel has just done a very similar vlog, both of you are very good at explaining how to live a life in Thailand
Pete's got a great channel.

Yes, that definitely can be a factor.

It is Thai health insurance. Hua Hin budget would be very close to the same. Check out the Hua Hin videos I've done.
Excellent video. thanks
You are welcome!
Have to agree with everything you said
Thank you
Where you got the health insurance, I'm planning to leave California and going overseas but i need health insurance thanks 🎉
I use Pacific Cross but shop around for pricing based on your needs and health situation.
Good video.how do you work out yor US phone# situation.Does Google voice work for receiving text from Bank, credit card companies?
Link in the description will get you there.
and you have a rent at 450, with a 200-250 you can live with 500-600
Rent was 450 when I was in a condo. It's lower now in my villa.
Totally depends on where you live in Thailand...Living in Chiang mai then maybe yes but in Bangkok I'll say no.
Location definitely impacts budget.

Retiringtoasia@gmail.com, should be at the end of the description section. Happy to answer questions.
Nice lifestyle , but a massage and feeling the beauty of a thai girl now and then, you don't spend money on that ? :) Greetz
I enjoy the massages. 1 hour Thai massage 200 baht. That reminds me, I haven't had one in a while!
Are you a drinker? Or a two or three beers a month kinda guy? Not judging whatsoever, just curious because of how lean your budget is.
Not much
1000$ is a survivor need . Thriving is 4000$ at least
For you maybe. Clearly, you missed the starting point of everyone having their own definition. Thanks for watching.

You can live VERY WELL in Thailand on 1,000 US dollars. IF YOU OWN YOUR CONDO(NO MONTHLY RENT OR MORGAGE).
I'm doing it and renting.
But I remember that you said you rent it for 6 or 7k baht per month 😅 I am looking for a decent 1bdrm in jomtien I can't find it lol that price no longer exists
No, I saved 5000 by moving. My rent is 12,500
easy to do
