- 20th September 2009 - Plymouth Miniature Steam Railway Club have a Model Engineering Exhibition day every year. There were all kinds of models there this time, but this one in particular caught the attention of my camera.
Bob Dennis, a club member of Plymouth Miniature Steam, exhibits his home built Miniature Gas Turbine in the "Engines Tent", he later get's it prepped up for a demo run for us all to see. It's relatively easy to start compaired with most other manual start engines, but it's also very thursty on juice too!
i am a member of the club and i do a lot of work their and i think that was one of the best exhibits of the day.
Actually ur cc has the problem, the primary zone is not properly designed so the flame comes out
Hi ,thanks for showing me the engine today, looks fantastic. Good luck with the radial, like to see that run.
will done needs a little work yet should not be any flame visible after 35k,heat is backing up and burning case
@reedy93 Thanks for your interest the flame only appears below 40000 rpm just above tick over. The case is not getting burnt, the EGT stays at about 610 deg, it runs and I am happy with my home build gas turbine I have now moved on to my next project and almost finished is a five cylinder four stroke radial. Have you built a gas turbine if so have you any video.
