Having a story in the previous games was one of my favorite parts about them 😭 The story and the sort of realistic world made it feel immersive and exciting, this feels... kinda empty somehow :( I'll miss hanging out in the park or café and getting to know the different characters in the world
I was quite shocked by this. I wish they would've added a story mode and bring back brands. Overall though I'm pretty okay with the game. The photo mode is so cute and I enjoy it very much. Hopefully they add dlc and a story to really flush out the game, I don't want it to get too repetitive since you don't have much to do.

Good point! I think the fact that this is the first game from syn sophia that’s designed as an online social game is a big factor. Also, even though you’re not design clothes from scratch the combination of colours you choose will make a big difference. Certain items will trend online when more people are using them in a look so your brand will become more known!
In a meta way that is how actual fashion design works for 99.9 % of brands. The number of shapes and silhouettes that can adorn a body are limited. What separates fashion brands is their colors, combinations, collections, and overall aesthetic, etc.
@DaveNodon i guess i am thinking about fashion design in a different way from "IRL" fashion design, because i am into lolita fashion and fashion illustration, there are millions of sleeve types, neckline types, boddice types, skirt volumes/lengths/layering you can combine, as well as fabric textures and patterns and prints, combining all of these things is what makes fashion design so fun and unique to me, color combination is a big part of a design yes but there is so much more to fashion IMO.. and even if what you say is true and realistic, i think they couldve added more customization anyway to make the experience more fun and for items to have more uniqueness.. even just being able to select textures/prints or stickers onto the mesh would be a huge step up cause heck even games from like 10 years ago had those options
Oh I had thought Fashion Dreamer was actually a different game altogether form Style Savvy, just looking a bit similar. I’ll be honest, I’d just love a style savvy with updated fashion items. This looks ok but a little flashy and busy tbh
Can’t wait! Got into Style Savvy with the previous game, Styling Star, and absolutely loved it. One thing that sort of worries me is that there doesn’t seem to be any overarching story of any sort. It’s not necessary but would be a fun addition. Then again, we haven’t seen much in the trailers so there could be one. Regardless though still getting it day one!
for me this is the biggest bonus, having to follow a story is what's kept me from playing most other fashion games, so i love this being more of a sandbox
I'm going to say this and I think it sums up my opinion on what people think about it. This isn't a new style savvy/fashion boutique game, I feel like this game is one of those games where they will update frequently, adding new content each patch and new clothes to try on, like in a similar style to overwatch. Honestly I love this game so much!! It's really fun to customize your avatar and other peoples avatars, I feel like not having a story mode is a shame, but makes sense because its more a "Social Media"-esque game than a game with story telling. Overall things I would love to see in future updates are things such as: Being able to meet the characters and chat with them, A marriage system in similar vain to MMORPGs which have the same system, more body sizes, etc!! Hopefully syn sophia will be able to shine with this game!!
The video is great, thanks for the preview! But I must admit that I am not convinced of the game as such… To me, it´s a little too close to our actual society dynamics lately. It is all about a social media and becoming an influencer etc… This is what I am running away from when gaming :D I somehow don‘t want my gaming world to be about social media too…
Edit: correct you can unlike items from the item box session Just tried it and while its fun theres some bits that were a bit questionable... like offline mode theres not much to do apart from tutorial and its nice that online play is free without nintendo membership But I feel like it lack of storyline 😅 , like one of my fave parts before was the characters you encounter and going on a journey with them. So its a shame theres none of that here it seems... Theres no undo button so i have to redo the entire outfit if i make a mistake or unliking something if i accidently liked something 😅 But its still early days yet. I really enjoy it but it feels a bit empty atm... 😅 I think it's good if you enjoy just designing and building a brand without having to manage and make money but for me the challenge in that was most enjoyable.
I'm such a Style Boutique fan, the 3DS were my entire teenage years! It's so exciting we get to play as men for a change! Time to create a fictional bf There's no weight or different body sizes though, is there? It doesn't affect me since I'm skinny irl but it's a shame there's no celebration for different shapes in a game that's all about fashion. If they support this game post launch, I hope they add some kind of fashion contest like New Style Boutique had. Those were always fun, and competing online against other people would be fun too! Either way I'm so excited for this game! Just 1 sleep to go~
Style Boutique was so great! Sadly it seem like there's no body size options, it would be really great to seem them include this in an update! Judging by the updates on the Japanese websites, it seems like a fashion contest may be coming in a future update next year!
Hope they add more body types, but that may be difficult as it could affect the way clothes fit on the player models, not trying to defend it, but if it wasn’t designed to scale with other body types, it is unlikely we’ll get an update with it. Hopefully if this game is a success we’ll get a sequel with more diversity

I've been interested in this game since its reveal. The style savvy series was something I never got to really try. Still, this type of game is a new genre for me, so I can't exactly go in with buying at full price. Gonna hold out a little longer for a sale an pick up a physical version. I have no doubt, however, that I will have some fun with this game when I get it. Maybe I will really enjoy other dress up games after this, who knows?

I never played the previous games and I really like this one, I love that we can play with so many other people and make outfits for each other. I do wish they had done more with the difference worlds and that we could have different style rooms for each character we create, so we could have different aesthetics
I bought the game and played it for 2 days. To be honest it gets boring rather quickly, all you do is collect other people’s clothes and change colors of clothes design. You can customize a lot of hair/makeup but body shape choices are limited. You can only choose your height…I think you can learn how to dress up irl from this game but as not all of us have the perfect body shape it might be better if the game includes chubby body shapes. ….Well, it’s not a bad game but due to the lack of features I don’t think it’s worth the price. Maybe can wait till it’s 30% off discount if you’re not in a rush to play.
4 Muses? Now that's something I didn't know about! I am a very creative person and any time something creative is included in a game, I am all for it. Like when I was playing AC New Horizons I loved creating my own designs (this extended into Happy Home Paradise). This game is quickly becoming a 'buy ASAP" for me because it's getting my creative juices flowing (which have been stagnate for awhile). Sadly I won't be able get this game when it launches since I am saving up for my Christmas shopping. I'll probably get it after the Holidays.

This game feels like it lacks a lot of things. I wouldn't mind all the missing things when it wouldn't be so expensive. I could play a Style Saavy game for around 20 bucks and now i gotta pay 50 for a game that lacks so many things? It's almost the same price as other bigger titles and I don't think the price reflects the quality of the game very well. If it would have been cheaper I would have considered buying it.
I advise you to look at actual gameplay reviews before buying the game. So far, I don’t feel it was worth my money and I could get the same or better from free to play mobile games. They really should have play-tested it more. The camera angle is annoying, and you can’t rotate it. Offline mode is basically a tutorial with no story, except for 10 recurring NPCs. I haven’t played online yet, but I imagine it will be like love nikki, and you only get likes if you have rare items, so I don’t really care about that. Also, it’s kind of confusing to determine which items fit which style. Maybe you can find that information somewhere, but there’s no option to filter. Half of the time, I don’t know what the game wants from me. Maybe I’m just stupid but really, it’s… not great. Seems like they put 90% of work into items and character customization, which I admit look cute (mostly), and almost none in the actual game. The UI is funny, too. I was trying to find out how to press that one button, only to find out it was not a button at all, it was the symbol that means the item is not from a player‘s brand. Yes, there are no in-game brands. I’ll update this if the online mode really sweeps me off my shoes (I hope I got that saying right, my English could be better).

Got the game and was hype that you can play as a guy now but then I played the game and you can't even wear cute girls clothes when you play a guy so I can't make my femboy 😂 (there still some cute clothes for guys fyi but haven't unlocked those yet) also there is a lack of story in this game and it gets boring really fast for me with out it, I miss the old Style Boutique where you had a story in it but if they do a DLC please add a story to single player or in both single and online.
Why are people already comparing it? If the company wanted to have comparison feedback they would've marketed it as Style Savvy 4. Don't people get that if there's a different title than its predecessors then it's a stand-alone game?

i think the game can feel more independent if you never play online, in online mode you take everyone elses outfits and can go from no clothes to hundreds in an hour, but single play everything actually feels like yours. it would just take longer to get all your desired clothing from gacha but gacha tickets aren't too difficult to get

So its basicially style Boutique but it deleted almost everything i loved about playing it. I really hate the online and social media focus. I play games to get away from that goddammit... and what i see here feels really repetative and boring. If i just want to dress up a character, I can play dress up games... i probably wont be buying this game.

The online mode puts me off tbh. I'd rather it just be a solid single player game, rather than trying to keep up with real life tastes.

I don't have WiFi at home to play my switch I play my games offline so it's sounds like it will be abit harder or different for me to play the game
i think the game can feel more independent if you never play online, in online mode you take everyone elses outfits and can go from no clothes to hundreds in an hour, but single play everything actually feels like yours. it would just take longer to get all your desired clothing from gacha but gacha tickets aren't too difficult to get
thanks for the video ! even if you gave a pretty good opinion about this game, i now know i'm not gonna take it. i really thought it would be like style boutique and couldn't wait for this game to come out, but seeing that it's more in a online/multiplayer way makes me hate it. i think online gaming ruined the video game industry because of this need to make everything absolutely online instead of concentrating on single player mode and making the game actually good without having to interact with other ppl. i really thought this game would be a more modern version of style boutique. i think it'll still watch gameplay videos of it but yeah, i'm not sure it'll change my mind
So this wouldn't be worth getting if you don't have a nintendo online account? It's really hampered my enjoyment of animal crossing and I don't want to wind up with another limited game.
Actually, online play in Fashion Dreamer doesn’t require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription which is great news! 🎉

Yeah the lack of storyline was disappointing I will admit. It makes it less worth playing offline.
@@SylverScourge After buying the game, I appreciated the graphics, hair, and clothing, but felt that it lacked a storyline. Hopefully, the developers will add one in a future update.

That’s one way but you can unlock new makeup you can wear freely by increasing affinity level with NPC Muses! ✨

You don't need Nintendo Online to play it. Any online features are free in Fashion dreamer.

So its basicially style Boutique but it deleted almost everything i loved about playing it. I really hate the online and social media focus. I play games to get away from that goddammit... and what i see here feels really repetative and boring. If i just want to dress up a character, I can play dress up games... i probably wont be buying this game.
