    40 INCH pounds, NOT 40 foot pounds. I'm surprised the first one clicked, and I'm really surprised the second one didn't break. Otherwise awesome video. Way better than the other two. Though I'm still unsure of the orientation of the two seals on the skeg ring. Camera went out of focus when you showed us. I think you placed them both in the same direction, hollow side up with paper spacer in between. But it appeared during disassembly that top one was hollow side down. I'll double check mine when i disassemble mine. Thanks for your video, it gave me the confidence to give it a go. And i really liked how you showed how to tune it!

      I went back and watched the seal assembly again. Had my wife watch it too. We figured out the seal orientation. Again THANKS for your video!!!

      Hey thanks for watching and yes I missed the 40 inch pounds 😳 I ordered me a new torque wrench that does inch lbs but I couldn’t go back and fix video I don’t think! Maybe in RUclips editor I’ll have to see!

      Good video, but 40 ft/lbs was big ? mark. 40 in/lbs makes sense, thanks for the very useful information!

      Yeah I missed the wording on that and surprised I didn’t break the bolt 😳 lesson learned on that one!

    Thank you for being so detailed on this. Extremely helpful. I know it took a lot of time.

    Thanks for sharing this video. I think this will help me with my Terrova! I did catch the in./lbs data on the spec sheet. Very helpful video you shared here.

      Thanks and yes should be the same barrel! I did mess up on the torque specs on bolts so make sure you don’t over tighten them

    Thanks for clearly explaining the orientation of the washers. The minnkota vidio doesn't do a good job showing how the cupped washers line up and their diagram doesn't help either!!! I bought my t.m. used and someone put them in wrong, maybe it was made on a monday or friday. Glad u didnt snap a through bolt, big difference between inch and foot lbs.... thank you

      Yeah me to! 😬 idk how I missed it! I bought me the proper torque wrench though so next time I’ll be properly prepared. Lol

    Hey man great video. Bought a used ultrex and some parts were missing. Can’t find a good diagram. Where does does that round metal wire holder suppose to go? Behind or in front of the brush holder part. Have it in front and it keeps hitting the armature. Thanks for help!

    What grease are you using for the seals and bearing seat?

    Did you add length to power wires?

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  5 месяцев назад

      No. Other than the factory wires in boat and factory wires with the trolling motor that’s all the wires I have.

  • @chrisfoley3320
    @chrisfoley3320 Год назад +1

    How did you get so much slack in your wires, did you take them loose at the top. Mine the wires barely come to the edge of the housing.

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Год назад

      I didn’t mess with the wires any. Remember when you put it back together that the torque lbs on the bolts are not in ft lbs. they are just in lbs and there is a huge difference

      To lengthen the wires. Unscrew the board on the top of the troller and push them down the tube. Just pull them back up after

    Do you know the model number of the Thru bolts for the Ultrex

      No I don’t! I’m sure a quick google search and I could find them though! Let me know if you can’t figure it out!

    I thought good Video too, helped me, but please edit it to say inch pounds, I probably over tightened mine until logic prevailed and I called Minn Kota. I think I am ok, but I could see someone continuing to twist till it broke. 40 inch pounds is about 3 foot pounds

    You are telling people to tighten the lower unit bolts to 40 foot pounds. That is incorrect. It is 40 to 50 Inch pound which is approximately 3.5 foot pounds

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah unfortunately I read that wrong and it’s already out there! I’ve been corrected by a lot of people. Fortunately I didn’t break my bolts however I do know it now! I can’t change it cause I’m not reshooting it and once it’s on RUclips you can’t edit it!

      No was smart to know I was tight lol but I thought that seemed like a lot!it will only tighten so tight though! Next would have been breaking bolt! 😳

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Год назад

      That’s a big difference! I can’t believe I missed that! That’s only 4 ft lbs glad I stopped trying to tighten the one! The bottom one clicked! Now I may need new seals 😂 I can’t believe that bolt didn’t snap
