Hi Sam, it sounds like a lot is happening on all fronts for you and Emma, houses reaaly drain your finances and time, mine needs completely renovating too! All the best in getting it done, it will be worth it in the end. As for the new GS, i much prefer the old one, or even the old, old ones! At ABR, inwas more taken with the base model Africa Twin as it looks like the best balance for on and off road. Also, the low seat height setting if 235mn is perfect for me! If i had the money and was buying new it would be top of my list 👍
Definitely a lot going on although it's not stopping me spending money on stuff I want.. I just had to worry more about the credit card 😂 That base spec AT is a beast of a bike! They are pretty top heavy but hopefully that's not as bad with the off roady version!
@@SamVBikes I know that credit card feeling well 😂 the base model doesn't have the electronic suspension which will save a few kg. I would be delighted if they did one without all the electronic stuff and regular dials too as I think they would sell a shed load to us old blokes! I reckon they could do it for sub £12k too and would be great for adventure touring as there wouldn't be anything to break down and leave you stranded!
@michaelmclarney1994 haha true! I reckon they could do that for a lot of models offering the tech free version for a chunk of change less! Reckon that would sell really well!
@@SamVBikes the tech is great but once it gets over 10 years old there is a big chance the gremlins will surface. I think of Dave Perry and his GS bills on wheelie good TV, all down to electronic stuff! I have heard that from several sources regarding BMW bikes. I tend to keep my bikes so I'm always looking long term.
@michaelmclarney1994 yeah that's exactly it mate. To be fair all of these new bikes have issues. The 1300 is having a number of troubles so far so I think it's just a matter of how the dealers react to it
@@SamVBikes can't wait to see it. I waited a long time for someone testing it on a SAS, but I just gave up and decided to go for it. I went for the Carpuride new 6" model with front/rear dashcams, similar to Chigee. Still didn't mount the cams though. It needs optimal location to be fixed front and rear, and fuel tank removal for cables passage as well, and I lack the time and skills for both, so it'd be great if you'd do a vídeo about it. Just saying :)
Haha! I didn't bother getting the cameras as I don't want to incriminate myself any more than necessary 😂😂 ABikeThing has a vid on the Chigee cameras but not sure about the Carpuride
When you see it next to a 1250GSA it doesn't look as bad for sure! It still seems to be heavily splitting opinion but that will change the more we see them
I kinda like it, it looks like it’s designed with a real purpose. Maybe this is what we need to get the GS line away from the Starbucks express image. And looks and the people complain about is always the same, the first time they see it they hate it, and a year later the old stuff looks ancient and worse. Happens every time.
Yo, we've had our little bit of banter regarding the GSA in the past, as I own one, time will tell if my opinion will change, but when I watched the release I thought... WTF is that ! 😂
Look forward to the 1st press bike review. Keep up the braaping content. Do you disclose what you do for your full-time job? Understand if you don’t want to.
😂😂😂 no chance! I'd have to have the most "unnecessary" GS possible to own one. Loud, knobblies, airbox, full rally spec and the polite brigade would hate it.. then maybe
i don't mind the new GSA, I actually like it i think more than the GS, but if I were to get a new bike it would be the desert X, but I have no plans on getting rid of the Pan America, but I have decided I do not want to pick it up off road, so theres a husky 701 sitting in the garage now lol. sláinte!
@@SamVBikes you'll get beat up on the motorway but you can definately do it, as for gravel/dirt,2-track its amazing! its wayyy more capable than i am lol
I do agree on the matter of the GSA. It`s just getting too heavy! On another note, not having enough money... If you need less, test ride a Ducati Multistrada Rally for us, will you? I did a short trip, about an hour, and do not think it`s responsible to try again:o Would like to hear your take on it. Stay safe
@@SamVBikes I can`t seem to justify the price gap between the Rally and the KTM. But I still liked it :o Fortunately, I guess KTM may be coming with a new Super Adv next year so I have told myself to wait... ;)
Please go over how the dumb things mount. Lol. I’m interested in them. I’m thinking of a hard mount with the square 4 bolt. But not sure how the dumb things go together.
Rally Mode allows you to adjust much more! Changing the mode between sport and rally doesn't make any difference apart from changing the screen layout. Once you're in Rally, you should have the option to change the throttle response etc which is what makes it more aggressive
@user-fh5kf8jh7q Rally is definitely the more aggressive one. When you go into Rally mode, you can scroll down and adjust the throttle response. It will show you which is the most aggressive on screen too
You are very welcome! I enjoyed the chats and poking fun at MFAnal at the ABR! Stay safe fella.
2.26 You know you’re going up in the world when Brian Blessed pops round to smash your bog…
Loved that Samuel and thank you for the mention 🤜🤛
Cheers pal! 💪🏼
I love the new GSA but being a 5'9 short arse and the wrong side of 60 I'll be sticking to my GS!
Haha yeah your back with thank you if you ever have a tumble
Hated the site of the GSA when launched but I think its growing on me.Cheers.
Think that will be most people's reactions too!
Hi Sam. Good to see the KTM Still going strong! Best motor on the planet.
Too right! I'm tempted to go for 100k miles haha

Nice to see a Carpuride mounted on your bike Sam. Put one on my '23 SAS as well. Brilliant so far.

Great to meet you too mate! I'd go for the Arrow or Wings I think!
Cannot wait to hear which of those GPS models work the best with gloves without sensor pads and automatic light dimming.
They are all surprisingly good so far, but there are definitely some better ones!
I first thought it looked terrible, then looked at a 1250GSA and changed my mind. It is an improvement on the 1250.
