If you're defending a violent, reoffending known criminal, that just threatened another person, that isn't complying to orders, maybe you should question your own ethics... that criminal certainly has none.

He had his hands up with no weapon…. They could have walked up to him , keeping those same guns on him and put cuffs on him, without the need for the shots or the dog.

i was accidently bitten by my dog put my hand in to stop a dog fight...The way that K9 attacked that man and the excruciating pain and dangerous infections they cause should never be allowed to happen! I spent 10 days of antibiotics injections and excruciating pain! I was lucky she only bit my left index finger it was a long time healing! So for me these K9 dogs should only be used in extreme life or death situations and sure as hell this was not one of them! The damage they can cause is unwarranted In my humble opinion!
Just look at how difficult the handler had pulling the dog off the so so bad culprit!

I've said once and I'll say it again, all officers and members of the government should be held accountable for their actions as well. Any violations should be treated the same as if it were a civilian. Corruption needs to go before it starts a civil war. (Another civil war in the case of the states)

Let me ask you a question, genius: Do you REALLY think that mutant knows that this guy being apprehended is a criminal? If dogs can distinguish criminals from law-abiding citizens then you wouldn't see so many attacks of police dogs against members of the public, let alone their own handlers! Even SERVICE dogs have attacked the very people who they were supposed to be aiding.
These are not creatures with virtue or morals. They are not altruistic and don't know what service they are performing or why they are performing such duties. These creatures are only doing what they are doing because FOOD, which is what they are so obsessed with, was a training tool used to train them to carry out such tasks. When they attack, they attack more out of instinct than from command, which is exactly why they are so hard to suppress once they spaz out because their lust for bloodthirst is so powerful.
They are not tools, and they are not heroes. They are weapons. Killers. And there is far more evidence backing up my claims than any pathetic argument that you can spew out.

The police are the ones that know the suspect's history, and this bald guy is the one who doesn't know the story and basing his opinions from the viral video. I don't see anything wrong with the arrest.

Vancouver Police should NOT have to defend what they did. They are highly trained; all police are highly trained. The problem is too much "Social Media" and stupid people with cameras filming and taking one side! Yes, everyone has rights.... criminal or not, however if you chose to break the law and resist arrest expect to be treated as you are, a CRIMINAL; put these guys away longer IMO so that we don't have to spend tax dollars rounding them back up again for "failure to appear". Penalties in Canada are not tough enough and this becomes a revolving door with our police service members caught doing more paperwork than actually REAL policing.

When i was young we would all rather be arrested by the RCMP than the Vancouver cops. My brother lost his spleen due to one of their beatings.

All you need to do to become a Vancouver police officer is have a high school diploma or the equivalent to a high school diploma and knowledge in how to dunk a donut property with no crums in the coffee and you too can become a Vancouver police officer
You also have to go through a highly competitive application process which can take months, you have to complete a polygraph test and a physical ability test, and you also have to go to JIBC police academy for 6 months.

We are what we practice. And if you practise shooting people with their hands up(with anything) and setting dogs on them, then that's what you are, an active shooter, not a peace keeper.
By all means, keep attacking me personally for any of this, I have compassion for low mental health.
They are clearly teaching the public that when you surrender and put your hands up, you'll then be shot at and have attack dogs set on you (remind you of anything??).
Even if that guy had it coming, if this is what the public is being taught, don't play victim or act bewildered when suspects stop surrendering and start shooting first.... followed by good officers not making it safely home anymore.
